For hikers and bikers, we offer direct access to the Schuylkill River Trail and are only a few miles from French Creek State Park. The cabin sits on the back corner of our horse farm, right along the riverbank. If you’re a horse lover, we can provide hay, feed, and a paddock with a run-in shed — or even a stall if you prefer. The surrounding area offers endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, or you can simply relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. Read a book beside the river, or sit with friends around the campfire and unwind. The cabin is wired and has heat/AC! The water from the hydrant is filtered and safe to drink. Please note: The train track runs along the opposite bank of the river, and you may hear it rumble by a few times a day. 3 nights at Riverside Hideaway

This is my first cabin camping in a long time and this place is really nice. The cabin is cozy and offers electricity. We are used to bringing our own supplies for camping and we were relieved to see most essentials were supplied. The hot plate and folding table were great for making meals, along with the fire pit. I really enjoyed the privacy and and hospitality of the host, who gave us the most delicious potatoes and onion from their garden. There is a train that comes by, but I'm telling you it is nothing that disturbed our stay. Thank you.

This was a most wonderful experience on a lovely property hosted by such a kind family. We very much enjoyed our two nights there (even in the cold). The cabin is quaint and had all we needed off the grid to really feel disconnected. We highly recommend this space, land, and family welcoming to all tent campers who once in awhile need a comfort space in inclement weather. A blessed place!

Weekend Trip to Camp Swift Run

I had such a wonderful time here! The area was so beautiful and the little house thing they have set up with a bed was so comfy and cute. The hosts were super kind and responsive and super understanding of the emergency situation that had come up for me.They have a heater and fire wood available for a small fee. Will most definitely be coming back soon!

Where to go

Memorial Lake State Park

Explore 230 acres around the southern base of Blue Mountain at Memorial Lake State Park, where campers flock to enjoy fishing for northern pike, largemouth bass, yellow perch, trout, and muskellunge. The 85-acre lake attracts boaters with space for more than 50 moorings and two dock launch ramps. Park amenities include pavilions with picnic tables (rent in advance for privacy), charcoal grills, water fountains, benches, and restrooms. There are no campsites in the park, but private RV and tent campsites are available nearby.

Swatara State Park

Backpack along the Appalachian Trail where it cuts through Swatara State Park. The park’s 3,520 acres boast scenic landscapes with views of Swatara Creek. Hike through wetlands and forests for glimpses of local wildlife or visit park highlights like historic Bordner Cabin or Akrigg Falls, which remains flowing throughout all four seasons. Area campsites are situated in the rolling fields and woodlands close to park entrances. Cabin rentals are also available.

Stoever’s Dam State Park

Fish, hike, and canoe at Stoever’s Dam State Park, another popular Lebanon destination for Hipcampers. Brimming with flora and fauna, the park includes observation decks for birdwatchers as well as a 23.5-acre lake that’s stocked with trout. Other park highlights include the 125-year-old nature barn with special exhibits related to the barn and park’s history and a community theater. When to go

Winter is off-season for Lebanon, but during mild weather, hikers can still be seen hitting the trails or snowmobiling.
