Grassy mowed area along the Sixes River on our cattle ranch and cranberry farm. We provide an outdoor shower and composting toilet shared by the 5 camp sites. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites. I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite). Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided) Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer (no motorized vehicles allowed in the Sixes River by law. No motorized vehicles in campsite besides automobiles by rule.) - Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party. Please note about lack of signage: The "walters landing" and "92220" on airport road are the only markings to indicate our entrance. We don't want to put any "campground" signs to avoid curious trespassers into the property (we only want invited guests). Campsite Rules: 1. Enjoy. 2. No motorized vehicles besides your auto. 3. We have a free-range farm atmosphere, with 2 kids, 2 large dogs, 2 cats, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are not allowed in the tiny house and that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land. We have firewood and fresh eggs for additional fees. THERE IS NO TOILET on the property. This is not a tent camping site unless you bring your own portable toilet set up. No smoking in the Tiny House. This rustic property is close enough to Hwy 101 and downtown to be convenient, but far enough away to enjoy all the wildlife the Siuslaw River has to offer. Bird watching at its finest! Not to mention the view of Old Town! This little slice of rugged heaven is just above the Siuslaw River and right off of Hwy 101. There is a steep gravel driveway, but once at the top, it is flat, and the view is pretty amazing. From camp, you can see Old Town. Gaze down at the Siuslaw River and all the wildlife that comes with it! We regularly see deer, red-tailed hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles. We have also had a bear that passes through, so beware of leaving food out. There are plenty of places to hike and visit nearby dunes, rivers, lakes, parks, and the ocean. Enjoy Florence's amazing food (ask the host for her favorites). It is quite an "up and down" walk to Old Town for dinner, or you can bring back take-out and eat it in the tiny house (no electricity or running water). Take a short walk to Prichard State Park for clamming or just relax with a book and feel the breeze off the river.  Whatever you enjoy, we’re sure you can find something close by!

The spot was easy to find. The view is really nice. We booked for only one night as we were just looking for a safe night to sleep while fishing the Siuslaw. We sat up our sleeping mats and blankets and slept inside the little tiny building in the property. We brought our own bathroom set up. It worked out really nice for what we needed. We will stay again!

Weekend Trip to Hideaway At The Vineyard

A very nice campout in the middle of a winery vineyard. Our host Kristie was very nice and helpful and gave us lots of information on the history of the winery. The site where we parked our 25 foot RV trailer. A nice covered picnic table area. Full hookups were at our disposal. Very quiet and peaceful area. We were parked next to the duck pond and heard them doing their thing and they sometimes came on land to pay a visit. Visited the wine tasting room and purchased a couple bottles. The vineyard was at our complete usage. We walked around quite a bit of it, talked to some grape pickers and saw the area where they make the wine. A nice tour of the area. Many thanks for everything. Highly recommended Hipcamp.

Go straight at the barn! (Don't go left!) Lovely pastoral land, mellow sheep, we could hear the rolling surf, the site was level and private--even though one other site was visible, adirondack chairs and wooden picnic table with benches were a bonus, and the fire pit was great! Nick is a patient, attendant host. I highly recommend this farm!

What i noticed first was the beautiful tree-lined drive in to the property. Gorgeous farm with lots of privacy between camps. Pleasantly surprised with the adirondack-type chairs around the fire pit. Beautiful picnic tables and flat areas for tents, etc. Loved the big dog mascot as well!

Great stay at this sheep farm. Easy to find, chill experience overall. The farm dog is super sweet. Sites are far enough apart it's private, quiet and dark. Had a good sleep here and would stay again. Fire pit & wood was provided(when bought) along with picnic bench.

3 nights at Dew Valley Ranch Nature Retreat

Can I just say wow! Dew Valley Ranch is one of the best glamping experiences I've ever had. The yurt, the bed and heating blanket. Shower towels, hot tub towels, and a thing to warm water, a fire pit and a super cutely decorated out door seating and eating area. We had a shower at our site with its own water heater, and a private bathroom. We had access to a hot tub, a sauna, and so many hikes. They have super cute goats, chickens, and a horse on the property that love people. I would highly recommend this ranch. And can't wait to stay again!!

Where to go

Oregon’s South Coast

North Bend offers easy access to other spots on the picturesque South Coast, arguably the prettiest part of an already gorgeous coastline. Popular spots include the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, with its numerous Pacific-facing viewpoints, and Cape Blanco State Park, the westernmost point in the state.

Central Coast Dunes

While North Bend offers easy access to some of the best dunes in the land, there are even more to be found up north on the Oregon Central Coast. Florence and Reedsport both have massive dunes. Those in Florence can be easily accessed from the massive Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park.

Umpqua National Forest

East of North Bend, the Umpqua National Forest offers beautiful old-growth stands, rivers, waterfalls, hiking trails, and plenty of campgrounds. It’s also home to numerous crystalline lakes and is directly connected to Crater lake, Oregon’s only national park.

When to go

Summer is by far the most popular time to visit North Bend, owing to generally warmer, dryer weather. However, this season can also get crowded, particularly during July and August, so be prepared to book in advance. Summer is also ideal if you want to take an ATV or UTV out on the dunes; daily rain is common from October through May and wet dunes can be difficult to drive on.
