Our family "Riverhouse" is one of my favorite places in the world. We use it to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday professional life. The town of Harrisburg is such a cool, easy-going, quaint place to spend some time. Accessibility is one of its' key assets. Harrisburg has a few family owned places to eat at, and a few shops to explore. It's a one light town, but that is why we love it here. The river is my favorite part. I sit for hours on end, watching the water flow by. Fishing, rafting/floating, and wading in the water are all fun things to do here. It was absolutely beautiful...an oasis of forest among the surrounding farmlands. We enjoyed to site, it was near the pond. sauna and outhouse, so everything was nearby. Nobody was at site 3, (which is pretty close by) so we had total privacy. We had a lovely time and would go there again!

We had a wonderful car camping experience here! Max was an amazing host — very accommodating, thoughtful, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The campsite was well kept and had all the essentials ready for us, which made our trip so much easier. You can really see the care and effort Max puts into making guests feel welcome. Brad was an excellent host. He came out at night to guide me to the right camp spot, and spent time in the morning giving me ideas for further travel. The sauna looks cool, but unfortunately there’s a burn ban in the area so it couldn’t be used.

Nice friendly little town. The spot was a great place for sunsets and reading on the deck. We were here in fall and there were no bugs. We did see a pack of river otters right below the house that were fun to watch. Super dog friendly area with people jogging and strolling by. Dog friendly park right doen the street and even a dog bad dispenser less than a block away . Felt safe. Close to stores and the Vu, a nice little pub with good, great selection of beer and cider (didn't try the mixed drinks) and pool tables (free pool on Sundays FYI). Next time we in the area this is out go to spot.

This is a remarkable property! Small enough to be quaint and large enough to have mini adventures. I camped here alone as a woman with my dog, and Brad was so kind, making sure I was aware of my surrounding area and that there was no poison oak or wild animals to worry about. The spring fed pond was safe for me and my pup to play, and the options of sauna and yoga for future visits were also a bonus. I highly recommend this lil piece of heaven!! I will definitely be visiting soon with friends and family!

We had a great stay at Vantopia! Max was very responsive, answered all our questions, and made sure our stay went well. The location was perfect for our adventures. You’ll get a small amount of road noise, but it didn’t bother us at all. The shower was really nice after a long day. We didn’t use the toilet as we had one in our camper. Everything was very clean and tidy, tree cover was nice for the hotter days. Overall we recommend the spot and are hoping to come back!

We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren. The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. We put in campsites, a cabin, a barn loft, and a fire pit. We offer these to guests when not being used by our family and friends. Wildlife includes deer, turkey, and quail & 3 active beehives. Guests are welcome to fresh eggs from the chicken coop. We are fully fenced and gated for your family and pets protection. South Santiam River is less than 1 mile for fishing, kayaking, or rafting. Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. We thought it would be great to have family gatherings and get togethers here and think of this as our slice of heaven, and hope others enjoy it as well.

NON-NEGOTIABLE RULES: PACK IN PACK OUT: We do not have trash or recycling bins down in the creekside campground so please keep your waste contained and take it with you when you leave. Please do not throw any trash in the porta-potties. 4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: The steep gravel roads can be tough for some cars and rigs (particularly on the way out) and consequently, can cause a lot of damage to our roads. So for everyone's safety, we have restricted access to only vehicles with 4WD or AWD only. Please do not message us asking us to advise on the vehicle you have. If someone in your party has a 2WD vehicle, they can park up in the entry lot and get shuttled down to the campsites in a 4WD vehicle. If we see a 2WD vehicle in the campground, we will ask you to leave and if we have to dig you out, we will charge a $200 fee. Thank you for respecting our policies and helping us maintain our space. DOG FRIENDLY: We are as dog friendly as it gets here. Unleashed dogs are allowed on this property down by the creek (on-leash required in and around the barn). If you have a fear of dogs, or have dogs that are not friendly with other people or fellow dogs, this probably isn't the right campground for you. Of course, we expect all dog owners to keep an eye on their pets so they don't disturb other campers or ingest anything they're not supposed to. QUIET HOURS: 10pm-9am. We ask that guests keep the noise (loud music and loud conversations) to a minimum between 10pm and 9am. We live onsite and will enforce these if we have to (please don't make us). NO FIREARMS, FIREWORKS OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE USE. This is not a late night party campsite.
