Our favorite hikes in the Central Oregon area is Smith Rocks and Chimney Rock. The Prineville reservoir is roughly a 12 minute drive and the starry nights here are something to behold.
Up the road is the most unique petting zoo that we recently found! Find it and you might just be able to hold a baby kangaroo!
Boondocking site means there is no hook-ups or running water so you'll want to bring in your own water and heat if you're here in the colder months.
Your four legged furry family members are welcomed! They must be accompanied at all times and not left on the property alone. The dog run is for you to keep closer tabs on them while relaxing, not for leaving them while going into town or enjoying the area. The dirt is very soft and it wouldn't take very long for them to dig under to get out and go looking for you. The cabin or yurt is also not a pet storage area - with no power or AC, pets are not allowed to be left alone in the dwellings.

The hosts were absolutely amazing—super kind, responsive, and accommodating! An actual room to lay your head if passing through for a night. Has those camp-y vibes going overall (e.g., bathroom outside, no kitchen, minimal light enclosure/window privacy) but you've got a super comfy bed, in a spacious room, removed from the elements (w/ heat unit in cold months). Rare find for that middle-ground—a nice spot to come back to after daily outings to surrounding areas!

Cute and cozy stay! The woodshed was larger than I thought it would be and stayed so warm and cozy on a freezing night. The grounds were very cute and our pups enjoyed the space. Would book again!

Such a beautiful spot! The shed was surprisingly cute, cozy, and romantic! The yard was huge and seeing the ducks was such a pleasure. We love being to bring our pups as well.
The shed was super comfortable all around and we found the bed to be comfortable too.
Nick was super responsive when we couldn’t figure out how to turn the sink on. The composting toilet was super easy and clean!

This was our second time staying at Rocki's and it was even better than the last! We rented both spots and had a great time. The location is perfect - only 10 minutes to downtown Bend, and if you prefer to Uber, it's less than $20. The sites are clean, the lighting Rocki has up sets the perfect mood, and the sunsets are outstanding. I hate (and love) bragging about the spots because it feels like our hidden gem of a campground! We already can't wait to come back!

They were clear about the limitations for camping with the need to have self contained facilities and electric (as personally required). Great quiet spot away from the busyness of town. I visited for a night in August as carryover to camping at the lake. You park far away from their house behind a rocky area so you can't even see people unless you walk around. At night the occasional car drives by on the farm road. Crickets and farm noises. Turkeys visited my trailer. 15 min from town away from all the traffic. It was beautiful. Hookups are easy to find, they have a solar powered light on the post.

We had our RV, a small tent and a gazebo tent at site 1. Plenty of space! Being on gravel was nice especially with the big rains that came in during the afternoons a few days. Rocki was very helpful and generous when needed, but we had our space otherwise. Our 3-year-old loved playing on the grass next to the site. There is road noise around, including the nearby highway, but it isn’t too loud and it was a very peaceful setting close to so much! We also loved going for bike rides just across Rodgers Rd. Definitely would stay again!

Great place to stay! Communication and directions were great. Jon and Kayla have created a little animal sanctuary on their property. They also have soap, sourdough bread, fresh eggs and lots of other items available for purchase at the cutest little roadside stand at the entrance of their property!
The location is close to downtown for fun breweries and live music.
