Luckily, we heard this property was coming on the market and we were able to work with the owners on purchasing before listing. The previous family will always hold a special place in our hearts - they truly worked with us to allow the transaction to happen. Since then, we have built our home and continue to chip away at projects to really make the place our own. We raise forage crops - corn, wheat, and alfalfa on a rotating basis, as well as a garden, flowers, pumpkins, pets, and kids! We hope you enjoy your visit! Nestled on a small farm, we are just minutes from the Owyhee River where many find enjoyment fly fishing for football-sized brown trout, rainbows, and more. With 360-degree views from the property, we invite you to set up camp and enjoy. You can have your boat at the dock of the Owyhee Reservoir in 25 minutes - or simply take a drive to enjoy the views, paddleboard, fish, swim, hike, hunt, off-road, and more. You'll find a local hot spring along the way to the Reservoir. Local restaurants and grocery options are as close as 20 minutes, and one burger joint even delivers! The sunrise over the valley and sunset over Mitchell Butte and the Owyhee Mountains just cannot be beat. Occasional wind storms crop up, so be prepared for that! Gentle pets are welcome. A round pen for horses/mules *may* be available for larger four-legged friends. Most do get cell phone service, and if you need anything - we are happy to help!

Idaho Goat Yard is a 9 acre small farm located right off Hwy 95, just 20 mins from I84. We are located in the heart of the Snake River Wine region with vineyards just 10 mins away. On the property we offer goat yoga, farm tours, private parties, and special farm animal happy hour. We are also home of The Cowboy Wok, it’s a really unique outdoor cooking experience. You can see the wok making process from start to finish and schedule a family dinner experience right in The Goat Yard. We have horseshoe pits, corn hole and ladder ball for some extra entertainment. Owyhee County is full of outdoor activities that are right in our back yard, rivers, hiking, waterfalls, fruit stands, lakes and much more just mins away. STARGAZING + AMAZING VIEWS: Our place sits on five acres overlooking the middle fork of the Malheur River, surrounded by cattle ranches. Our nearest neighbor is about 2 miles away, we're remote, but accessible... if you don't mind a couple of miles of gravel road. We're in a dark spot, perfect for laying out in the lounge chairs and admiring the Milky Way in an indescribable setting. At night, the only lights visible truly are the moon and stars. Bring your telescope if you've got one! COOKING + DINING: Prepare your meals in our simple, yet functional outdoor kitchen. There's camp stove, picnic table, wash station, and firepit*. The water spigot is located at the north end of the cabin porch. This is a shared area, but we rarely have both accommodations booked at the same time. We've recently decided to make our DELUXE CAMP KITCHEN complimentary**! You won't have to worry about bringing cookware, dishes, cutlery, knives, cutting boards, a can opener, a bottle opener, basic seasonings, or dish washing necessities! **We just ask that you let us know when a seasoning or condiment is running low and that you please wash and return everything to its original spot to avoid an additional cleaning fee of $35. *Please don't use the firepit if a burn ban is in effect. SHOWERING + WHATNOT: Enjoy a luxurious shower in our outdoor shower house, complete with skylight and on-demand hot water. Towels are provided. The building also contains a fabulous composting loo. On the rare occasion that we also have guests staying in the other site, we'll try to coordinate so that you don't disturb each other. We'll communicate with both parties and try to come to a shower schedule that works for everyone. PETS: We welcome your furbabies! Please be advised that there is an additional fee of $25 per pet, payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in good ol' American greenbacks. Please pick up after your pets and try to keep them in your area. We ask that you do not allow your pets on the furniture -- if we find that they've been allowed on the bed, we will require you to pay for the replacement of the bedding at a cost of $300. We have two dogs, an exuberant 150 pound Newfoundland named Hagrid, a little ankle-biting mutt named Hugo, multiple free roaming cats, and three semi-feral children who may be outside. If you are bringing your pet(s), please contact us prior to arrival. SUSTAINABILITY: We're kinda into crunchy stuff like solar power, composting, sustainability, salvage/upcycling/recycling, and supporting local farmers - artisans - businesses. You'll find that many of the little touches on our replace reflect those values. CHARITY IRONWORKS: If you see or hear Tom puttering around out in the blacksmith shop, you’re welcome to go over and visit. If you need gifts for the folks back home or souvenirs from your epic trip, we also have a selection of our blacksmithing and coppersmithing wares available -- just ask us and we’d be happy to show you our stock. We also offer our 3 Hour Blacksmithing Basics Workshop with Tom at a cost of $95 per person age 12+ - payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money. *SUMMER/FALL: PLEASE CONTACT US ABOUT THE WORKSHOP PRIOR TO BOOKING - Tom is a wildland firefighter and his availability will be dependent on fire activity.* OTHER THINGS TO NOTE... There IS cell phone reception here - Verizon works best and there's usually 2-3 bars of LTE. We're in the Pacific Time Zone... But while you're here your phone will probably ping off of a tower located in the Mountain Time Zone, so if you're not sure what time it is, just ask! We have lots of complimentary maps and brochures available to help you explore the local sights and cuisine. We're always happy to give recommendations to our favorite haunts. Did we mention that we're remote? And that the nearest grocery store is at least an hour away? STOCK UP: Either in Vale if you're coming from the east, Burns if you're coming from the west, or John Day if you're coming from the north. We're about 15 minutes from the Malheur National Forest, 30 minutes from Beulah Reservoir, and an hour and a half from Steens Mountain. BE COOL: Please don't allow your pets on the beds or furniture. Please don't smoke in the cabin, bus, OR in the shower house. Please don’t take the bedding or pillows out of the bus or cabin. Please don’t cook in the bus or cabin. Please wash and return the deluxe camp kitchen pieces to their designated spot. Please don’t put anything in the loo except TP, sawdust, and your business. We only mention it because, well, we’ve had people do a few sketchy things in the past. We’re sure you’re super cool and would never do anything like that, but we kinda gotta say it anyway. We don't want to have to give you a poor review and/or charge you extra cleaning and damage fees, and we're sure that'd be a bummer for you, too. **SHOWER AVAILABILITY DEPENDENT ON WEATHER.**

Micone Ranch

Our place is 28 acres, and you can camp anywhere. We can host many people but only want one group at a time. Keep in mind that winter brings snow, and we have a small bridge to cross and a slanted driveway. We are open year-round but make sure your tires can handle our terrain. Reserve a spot and then add any additional tents/rv/vehicles used for sleeping, that will be with you as an additional guest. You can also add extra sleeping structures under the extra tab. Huge windy driveway can accommodate rv campers. A creek runs through the front of the property year-round. Cleared spots available in the non-snow months are small so tent camping only. It is densely wooded. We do have goats in this field. but they are generally shy. Camping areas that people have liked are up top by the top field gate, or down in the field that our large chicken coop is in. There are no large animals in those areas, but chickens do make noises. Up top we have roosters that make noise about 5 am. the lower field on the right is the quietest. The bridge at the entrance to our property is 11' wide, which should allow a standard 8' RV to pass into the property. If you own an extra-wide RV's you should check its width before booking. Keep in mind that winter brings snow, and we have a small bridge to cross and a slanted driveway. We are open year-round but make sure your tires can handle our terrain. Reserve a spot and then add any additional tents/rv/vehicles used for sleeping, that will be with you as an additional guest. You can also add extra sleeping structures under the extra tab. Huge windy driveway can accommodate rv campers. A creek runs through the front of the property year-round. Cleared spots available in the non-snow months are small so tent camping only. It is densely wooded. We do have goats in this field. but they are generally shy. Camping areas that people have liked are up top by the top field gate, or down in the field that our large chicken coop is in. There are no large animals in those areas, but chickens do make noises. Butterfield Farms

In the early 1900's three sheep ranchers--August Broderson, James Fisher, and Isaac Leighton--each purchased residential lots in Weiser and built brick homes designed by Idaho architect H. W. Bond. This property, which we named Butterfield Farms, was built in 1915 by August Broderson, who emigrated from Germany to the US in 1892. The Broderson family lived here for decades and were a prominent family in Weiser history. Learn more about this land:The campsite is located on our small family-run farm in Weiser, ID. Our 2 1/2 acre historic farm is located in the heart of town, so you have the best of both worlds: easy access to town amenities, and a restful retreat in nature at the end of the day. Grocery store, seasonal farmer's market, coffee shop, eateries, library, and downtown shops are all within easy walking or biking distance. Weiser is known world-wide for its annual fiddle festival in June! Our campsite is within walking or biking distance of all of the Fiddle Week activities. Campsite is located underneath a large shady oak tree. Campers are welcome to use the fire pit when fire bans are not in effect. Electric hookups are located immediately next to the campsite, as well as a non-potable water source. Note that we are located in town and campers are required to observe quiet hours between 10pm and 8am and be courteous of neighbors.
