I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area. Our backyard might be the most serene you've ever been to! Eight acres of meadow and forest, surrounded by orchards, fields, and the roaring White Salmon River is the getaway that surrounds you with nature but has the comforts of home. The four lodging sites include 3 glamping tents and 1 gravel parking area with hookups for an RV or trailer (20' or less). To enhance everyone's comfort level, we have two plumbed restroom buildings and an outdoor kitchen. There is a large meadow with lawn games and two propane fire pits - and of course, heckling the rafters and kayakers from the riverbank is probably the best entertainment! They love waving and yelling "helllooooo" back! The property is only 15 minutes from Hood River (to the south) and about 25 from Trout Lake (to the north). Outdoor activities are endless in the Columbia Gorge - we have two superior rafting companies located nearby that can take you on a white water excursion down the White Salmon, and if wine is your thing, there are multiple opportunities for local tastings and tours. Waterfalls are abundant in this area and there are a ton of hikes to see them, ranging from easy to difficult. Many of our guests comment on how peaceful it is here and that they've never slept better - so, in order to keep this space as relaxing as possible, I do not allow children unless all three tents are rented by the same party. Children are allowed if staying in an RV or trailer that is hard-sided (ie, nobody will hear the tantrums - whether it's from a child or their parent!) Unfortunately, I do not allow pets. I'm sorry!!! We have 5 of our own who live onsite and I don't want to risk any unwelcome interactions. Our cats (Daisy, Marabelle, and Baby Meow Meow) are friendly and social, so if you have allergies, please just be aware that they might come up to you for a quick visit! We also have two young dogs (Blue who is Husky/Black Lab and Rooster who is Corgie/Blue Heeler). I try to keep the dogs at our house when we have guests but should they come down to the meadow, just know that much like the cats, they are super friendly and love to hang out. While we are located on the river, I do not allow put-ins or dips from our property due to liability - the current is quite strong and the water is glacier-cold. There is a kayak/raft drop-in at BZ Corners, a quick 3 mile drive up the road from us, or at Northwestern Park which is just down the road from us, and there are swimming holes all over the Gorge (just not right here!) Please do not venture past the rock divider at the edge of the riverbank, as doing so could subject you to poison oak that lives along the river's edge. If you want to try your hand at fishing, there is a small trail that leads down to the water's edge near the River House - just beware of the poison oak. Our propane fire pits are communal - one is located next to the kitchen, and one is next to the river. Both have igniters, just read the directions for lighting. We do not allow individual fire pits, nor wood-burning fires due to the county-wide burn ban that is in effect every summer. Our kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, coffee maker, Keurig, electric skillet, 3 propane skillets and a grill, blender, cooking utensils, sink with running water, breakfast table, and extra seating. If you're bringing substantial amounts of food/beverage, you should bring a cooler, as space in the fridge is limited. All food will need to be kept either in the refrigerator bins, or in your own cooler or bin that animals can't get into. I do not provide food products such as coffee, creamer, seasonings, oils, butter, etc - basically anything that could spoil. I do provide a limited number of k-cups for the Keurig, in case you just want a quick (if not that great) cup of coffee in the morning (please limit your use to 2 per person). I offer a 15% discount when all three tents are rented by the same party, so just send me a message if you're interested in bringing friends. I'm also open to hosting small weddings/events of 50 or less - we host our own events here every summer and it's been a hit so I'm offering it up to others as well. There are also a number of places to eat within a mile of the cabins including Mount Adams Pizza, the Trout Lake Hall, Post Office Coffee, and the Station Cafe. The Mount Adams Ranger District is a great resource for additional information about the area and recreational activities. 2 nights at WindWoodRivers

Absolutely stunning location. The time I went was also superb in that no one else was camping so nature really presented itself. I saw bald eagles, great blue heron, salmon jumping up river. It was unforgettable. The sauna experience was lovely. There was a suggestion to pour water over rocks but I'd recommend that as mandatory to maintain heat & steam. There wasn't hot water which I didn't entirely mind since a cold outdoor shower after sauna was invigorating & exciting to the sense. The moment I wanted hot water was at end of stay when I had to dispose of the compost toilet liquids & wanted to wash hands with warmer water. It is a truly beautiful landscape & an enjoyable glamping experience.

1 night at Red Cloud Ranch

My wife and I only stayed one night in the “glamping pod with gorgeous views at Red Cloud Ranch” and the description and pictures are exactly as described on their Hipcamp listing. It was very cozy with a small heater and all the bedding you need. Shannon provided great directions and met us when we arrived, she was super nice and helpful. The drive to the property is pretty magical on a clear day with easterly views of Mt. Hood and cute black cows dotting the sides of their road. It wasn’t a problem for us but worth noting that there is 3-4 mile gravel and dirt road leading up to the property. Also, at the time of this review, there was no shower which we were aware of. If we were staying more than one night glamping, a shower would be a great addition. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay would definitely come back if we were in the area again!

This was such a beautiful space! So thoughtfully designed and had everything we could’ve wanted. The walk down to the spot was a littler steeper than expected but absolutely worth it. The rain on the tin roof at night was so lovely. Host was also so accommodating and kind! Absolutely would come back to this space.

Weekend Trip to Nash Valley

For two people who typically tent camp, this was an awesome first-time-glamping experience! The space has everything you need to stay comfortable including a wood burning stove that kept us warm through the night. Little touches including a camp stove and kettle would make for a great morning cup of coffee on the porch! Dan was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Riverwild Glampground

I spent two nights here end of September and it was lovely to wake up to the river and crisp fall air. The nights were around 50 so the space heater in the tent was very helpful. Glad to have a wool blanket and comforter. Everything was very clean and tidy. This would be a nice spot to host a small group. The outdoor kitchen was good but I would consider bringing some extras just in case. A didn't find a cheese grater, saucepan, or single serving coffee maker (only a 6-cup pot). I brought my own pour over and used the electric kettle instead. Otherwise it is well stocked with a flat top griddle and skillets, plates, mugs etc.

This was our 3rd time staying here, but first in the tiny home. It was absolutely spectacular. I booked it for the private sauna and highly enjoyed self-care Sunday with a morning session followed by cold plunge. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Handsfull Farm Creek-side Retreat

This was an amazing experience!! Handsfull farm is a beautiful property that is so spacious but somehow feels so cozy and wonderful at there same time. my partner and I were planning some things to do around the area but ended up staying our full two days at the farm because there was so much to do. I felt so so welcome by everyone there. it's really clear that they really care about the guest experience. The glamping spot by the creek is also super private, it feels like you have your own forest to explore. Pictures cannot do it justice! I can't wait to return!!

Fern was a nice spot to get away that is a short drive from Portland! We were traveling with a 2 year old and it ended up being a perfect set up for an easy “camping” trip. We had nice time walking around the trails and exploring the property. We will definitely be back!

Such a beautiful property set in this little valley along the Wind River. We were a bit confused about parking but Chris was so helpful (& so was Granny.) If you don't mind a bit of a hike, the river soaking is the crown jewel here. Kitchen is adorable and we loved the outdoor shower too.

What a beautiful getaway. Feeling truly grateful for our time at Fern Ridge. This is my first time staying in a tiny home and I was blown away by how cozy the space was, and how well built this home is. It was the perfect place to slow down and unwind (romantic too) with everything you could want in the home to make the most of a short or extended stay. Favorite part was just sitting on the patio with the view of the forest - listening to the birds chirp and the breeze in the trees. Oh and the sauna is A MUST. Honestly, I could call Forest Ridge home away from home. We'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin

Absolutely stunning place to stay with tons to do close by. The cabin is extremely cozy and the place is completely secluded. We felt like we were the only ones there. The cabin and the bathroom/kitchen area was clean and stocked with the essentials (plates, fridge/freezer, shower, portable generator for the cabin, lamps, bbq and more). We caught a thunder storm on the last night of our stay and it was so relaxing. We’re excited to come back in the winter when it is snowing.

It was a lovely tiny house for the evening and very close to Trout Lake Hall. We wish we would have stayed longer! The entire property with the outdoor living room and kitchen is so unique. We want to come back to the property with a larger group. Jimmy was amazing at communicating and although we never met in person, I hope to meet him and his wife next time!

Weekend Trip to Towering Pines Tiny Home

Great place, very well equipped, private and secluded, but somehow only 7 minutes from town. We loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen and hanging in the outdoor living room. All the amenities run on propane which is supplied, we didn’t have to bring any fuel. Also lots of nice touches like hand soap at the sinks and hand sanitizer in the outhouses. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin

This adorable cabin was perfect for our romantic 33rd anniversary weekend of hiking and huckleberry picking. The bed is soft and comfortable, the cabin is rustic but homey. Comfortable chairs outside and a propane grill that saved us from having to pack our own. There a shower, bathroom and fridge about 25 yards away. A coffee maker, microwave and air fryer are there to use if you want to eat dinner in. Trout Lake is one of our favorite places to visit - we've been coming up every huckleberry season for the past 20 years -- now we have a new favorite place to stay!

Weekend Trip to CASCADIA ESCAPE - TIPI or TINY HOME

This is by far the absolute best place you could glamp in the area! The tiny home was the best hipcamp experience my husband and I have had since using the app. The outdoor living room and showers is an amazing unique experience you definitely don't find quite anywhere else. The land is beautiful and a prime location for the Ice Caves, lakes and so much more. Everyone in Trout Lake is extremely nice and happy to meet you with a smile as you go around town, even waving at you as you drive by. I highly recommend this place with a cheerful host like no other it truly is an experience of a lifetime! Including a very happy puppy that would love to play fetch :)

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin

What a beautiful place for our family’s first night stay on our Pacific Northwest road trip! My husband, four year old daughter and I were amazed at the breathtaking scenery and perfectly comfortable in this tiny cabin. We arrived late afternoon early August, and the cabin was warm inside but cooled off nicely with the windows open at night. The bathroom and mini kitchen had everything we needed and were just a short walk away. We enjoyed good food and music at Trout Lake Hall, and the stargazing at night was unbelievable. What a special memory for our family. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us, Amy! Our only regret is not staying longer!!
