We had a group of 10 (including a toddler) and this was absolutely the perfect spot for all of us! Ed's property is beautiful with lovely little nooks of campgrounds tucked away from each other, so people could get as much privacy as they liked or congregate in common spaces. There are a couple of sites with steep ledges, so we steered clear of those, but found lots of space for our toddler to run free, collecting leaves and sticks. The babbling brook running through the property was my favorite part. And each camp site has a cute little woodburning stove and firepit ring. It is clear that Ed loves his property and loves sharing it -- he is a warm and inviting host. It is a magical place and we plan to make this a regular weekend spot for our family during nice weather!

We had a very enjoyable stay! 😊 our host, Nikki was great! Very easy to reach… This was my first time camping through Hip Camp. I was able to have a bit of a family reunion out there, close to family to come visit. Lot less stress for my 14-year-old sheltie, with no other campers around. Kayaking was beautiful! Huge fish, jumping everywhere! Definitely recommend fishing!! I would recommend this spot, and would come and stay again… ❤️ Thank you, Nikki, for a wonderful stay,

What a great relaxing weekend! The property was so clean and felt very private. My granddaughter had so much fun picking blackberries for her waffles. Yes, there was road and train noise but you tune it out after the first day. We actually made a game out of the trains... who could call it coming first and was it a passenger or freight train based on sound. Saw lots of wildlife including deer, eagles and very pretty ducks. The only downside was all the gnats for 2hrs at night. Next time bugs spray.

Isla Springs was the perfect pick for our holiday weekend. Ed was a great host who met us at the property entrance and escorted us to his top picks. This property is clearly a labor of love. He’s planted so many trees.
The camp sites were well maintained, all came with a fire pit and a wood stove. Our sites were right on the water. It was great to have river access and be able to see the kids playing.
There is one porta potty that is well maintained (even with fresh flowers), but it’s good to bring your own if you can.
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. No complaints!

Great experience. We went Sunday-Tuesday so we had the whole campground to ourselves. Even the other side that’s not hosted by this person. The lot is split in half with two owners both found on Hipcamp. Had a fire pit, porta-potty, a private gate entrance, very clean, edged with tall beautiful evergreens, trails around the camp site, wildlife all around. We saw deer cross through the campsite Monday night. You do have to bring your own water. There is no water on site. We found free water at pioneer market in Long Beach. (Jacks country store does not help with water from a spigot) You can’t walk to the beach, it says it’s a 1/4 mile but we did not find any beach walking distance. The closest was a 8 min drive(3 miles). The camp spot is on grass but there are gopher heads that kept getting on my daughter’s foot (1 yr old, so it’s a big deal 😂), riddled along the drive way and edges of campsite. Have to wear shoes all the time to be safe and I’m glad I didn’t take my dog. It would have been a hassle. Other that that, the campsite is a 4 out of 5 in my opinion. No Water, gophers heads, and the misleading about the beach is why it didn’t get 5.

This trip was exactly what we hoped for, and more. We were able to find a perfect spot for us. (I have never camped in a state park and don't really care to, having been raised in Montana with a different camping style.)
This was in fact very private, away from people, and I didn't have to worry for a second about my dogs running around. If preferred, you also have the option of picking spots that are closer together, but definitely not too close. These are a shorter walk to the porta potty if that's your style. There is such an incredible variety, really something for everyone.
As stated in previous reviews, Ed is an absolute gem. If you contact him on arrival, he will meet up with you and help to find the perfect spot! He was also willing to run item specific errands which I found to be a very generous offer.
We did end up leaving a night early, but this was simply due to the unusually hot weekend. Our spot was well shaded. The creek was refreshingly cold. The heat was just too much for us.
We will, without a doubt be back. Thanks Ed!

What an awesome spot. Ed has really built a beautiful spot for camping. We stayed near the river and could hear the river while trying to sleep. The trees in the area are also beautiful. Will be going back soon.

Ed was super friendly, led us to our spot and took the time to chat with us and answer questions. There was plenty of shade and felt private despite the fact that there were other campers on the grounds. The portable facilities were very clean and well kept. Being so close to the creek added fun to our trip.

Great place for a stop. Sites 1-3 are large enough for groups. The provided outhouse is clean, and well maintained. It is a nice quiet spot for families. Not far from there is Pacific Pines State Park. It's a nice change from Long Beach. More remote so you can spread out some.
Dog owners: Great spot, but look carefully at their paws and fur. Somewhere nearby we picked up puncture vine seeds in our vehicle tires. I don't know where exactly. We looked carefully around in the gravel and saw a couple, but nothing in campsite 3 where we stayed.
