A place carved out of history dating back over 200 years ago. This is where history welcomes you to the Cherokee culture. This land has been handed down for generations and has stayed in the family beginning on my mother’s side of the family, Mary Ann Groundhog, the fourth generation great granddaughter of Sequoyah on the “Dick” side of my family tree. My mother was heavily involved with AIM (American Indian movement).
My dad was the last monolingual Cherokee. His name was Mack Vann, he was a man who loved culture and sharing it with visitors and handed down that passion to me. My hip camper site is named after my daddy, I am still a daddy‘s girl. The land originated before Sequoyah. who created the Cherokee syllabary. Sequoyah was my fifth generation great grandfather and I am very proud of my Cherokee heritage, I would love to share my culture, my tradition, and my passion with you.

Sitting in the middle of an 850 acre nature preserve, you will have plenty of privacy to enjoy a getaway in the woods without being disturbed by other campers. This site is relatively flat and easy to access on the edge of a field along the tree line of the forest. You may notice old stone chimneys standing throughout the woods where cabins once stood, back when Lake Frances was a resort area in the 1920s. On this camp site, we have a Micro Cabin that is wired for a generator (not provided) that sleeps 2, or bring your own tent and enjoy the view of the stars. We have several private campsites sprinkled throughout the forest reserve for you to stay at as you enjoy the Illinois River, hike, or bike the trails. The mountain bike trails run very close to this site and the White Water Park is about 2 miles down the gravel road. The trailhead for the paved bike trail is around the corner from this campsite and goes all the way down to WOKA. There is an off road bike trail located right next to the field by this campsite along with several other trails. There are many more miles of additional mountain bike trails in town and on the north side of Siloam.
WOKA has 8 low-hazard whitewater features, seasonal rentals of kayaks, rafts, paddle boards and actual surf boards, and concessions, with shaded viewing. Changing facilities and restrooms are on-site at WOKA.
The Siloam Springs Kayak Park is located up river on Fisher Ford Rd, and has access for swimming and tubing. If you enjoy riding dirt bikes or quads, there is the family friendly Off-road race track, Gas MX, directly across the highway from Woka. We also have dirt track racing at Arrowhead Speedway nearby in West Siloam Springs, West of the Casino.

Found some trees perfect for a hammock, hiked down the rock trail, made a campfire cake, had camp coffee and enjoyed the scenery. It was my kind of party. Camper was in good shape, smelled and looked clean. Having a flushable toilet, a queen size bed to sleep in, and the option to use the stove were all very convenient (especially with a 4 year old). Great place for the price, I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was peaceful and fun. Host was responsive.

A perfect weekend. Beautiful nature setting every direction you look. Nicely maintained and clean. Quiet and private. Host made sure we got settled in and pointed out a hidden entrance to an amazing nature trail the we hiked, then biked the next day. Clean bathroom. Micro cabin was perfect for friends to join us. We plan to return and make this a regular destination. We are leaving rested, relaxed, and happy!

We had a very peaceful weekend, at a perfect location for tent camping. We set up our camp 30 ft from the creek, the sound of the water was very relaxing.

We loved tent camping at The wild Goose. We were able to find it very easily and having electricity at the site was such a blessing. The view of the river was amazing and my kids spent a lot of time on the rock wall right along the river. It was quiet and we had all the privacy we were looking for. Do yourself a favor and bring a pair of binoculars because the natural wildlife was beautiful to look at and we found out how the site got its name from the geese that wandered across the way from us. We would definitely stay at this property again!

First time camping in our trailer we purchased and it was perfect. It was beautiful. Very well kept, no trash anywhere! The porta potty was the cleanest I had ever saw. The water is clear...oh I can go on and on. I will absolutely book here again. If you live around there...or even if you don't, this place is a must! Very very responsive host. I had a great time! It's a great spot for car camping. There were lots of trees and birds, and the camper was really convenient. It had a toilet, shower, and sink that were welcome conveniences for the three night stay in my tent.
The views were beautiful. I'm definitely coming back.

Wow. This property is beautiful, well kept, and fairly private. The owner, Laquita, was very nice and super helpful. The creek was a perfect backdrop to our camp fire. It was a very relaxing trip and will definitely be making another booking here in the future.
PS don’t try to drive into the creek, you will get stuck

Had an amazing time!!! Perfect for a weekend away from home. This spot is large enough for the whole family or a romantic getaway. Highly recommended. Also the fire pit is a little bit off into the woods and it made for a beautifully relaxing time and there is a porta potty on sight so no need to go in the woods! If you are needing a camping spot this is it!!!
