Sycamore Bay Woods on Grand Lake

5 sites · Tents25 acres · Wyandotte, OK
The land here has had human occupation for 25000 years. I have about 22 acres situated along highway 10 on one side and grand lake on the other.. The land is situated between 2 fault lines (in what is called the "Seneca Graben". Learn more about this land: Plenty of open campsite possibility to choose from. Clearings have been made on edge of woods most of which have lake frontage in addition to the 5 sites that I have cleared so far back closer to highway. There is a dry creek that floods in the spring that cuts across the property diagonally. It has been used as a bison and mammoth trap and kill site for centuries on sycamore creek and my arrowhead collection is almost entirely from here. Historians say humans have been settled into this area for 25000 years as it was important confluence of neosho and spring rivers called grand river that met sycamore creek . Since prehistory, humans have used the dry creek beds to spook animals away from their water holes - up the fastest escape thru creek only to fall on their pikes in the pits they dug out.

Lake Francis Privacy Camp #1

2 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · AR
Sitting in the middle of an 850 acre wildlife preserve, you will have plenty of privacy to enjoy a getaway in the woods without being disturbed by other campers. This site is relatively flat and easy to access on the edge of a field along the tree line of the forest. You may notice old stone chimneys standing throughout the woods where cabins once stood, back when Lake Frances was a resort area in the 1920s. On this primitive camp site, we have a Micro Cabin that is wired for a generator (not provided) that sleeps 2, or bring your own tent and enjoy the view of the stars. We have several private campsites sprinkled throughout the forest reserve for you to stay at as you enjoy the Illinois River, hike, or bike the trails. The mountain bike trails run very close to this site and the White Water Park is about 2 miles down the gravel road. The trailhead for the paved bike trail is around the corner from this campsite and goes all the way down to WOKA. There are several miles of additional mountain bike trails in town and on the north side of Siloam. WOKA has 8 low-hazard whitewater features, seasonal rentals of kayaks, rafts, paddle boards and actual surf boards, and concessions, with shaded viewing. Changing facilities and restrooms are on-site at WOKA. The Siloam Springs Kayak Park is located up river on Fisher Ford Rd, and has access for swimming and tubing. If you enjoy riding dirt bikes or quads, there is the family friendly Off-road race track, Gas MX, directly across the highway from Woka. We also have dirt track racing at Arrowhead Speedway nearby in West Siloam Springs, West of the Casino.
