Purchased in 2019, these overgrown acres are now a federally registered Farm with the crop being Trees, and have a 10 year Woodland Stewardship Management Plan with the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources. I will be working hard over the years to bring this back to a healthy stand of mixed hardwoods, full of wildlife habitat, and native vegetation. 2024 saw the start of our EQIP contract which includes killing the non-native invasives, like Tree of Heaven, Autumn Olive, Honeysuckle, and more. 2025 was planting, staking, and tubing of 800 tree seedlings, including Black Walnut, Red Oak, Scarlet Oak, Sugar Maple, Persimmon, and Tulip Poplar.

Enjoy approximately 10 wooded acres with hiking trails cut throughout.
A common area has a Fire Ring, Outhouse, Water Station, Picnic Tables and Seats, where you can socialize with fellow campers, whether they be family, old friends, or new acquaintances.
Or you can retreat a short distance away to your own campsite, for some alone time. The three campsites are adjacent to each other, but divided by walls of brush and newly planted shrubs. You may hear other campers, but your space is well defined. It is approximately 50-70 ft from the center of one campsite to the next, and a similar distance from the center of each campsite to the common area.
Hiking trails are cut throughout the woods, so feel free to explore. Just stay within the wire fence lines to avoid crossing onto neighboring private lands. The main pond seen from the parking area is off limits for liability reasons. I am working on a smaller ravine pond in the woods, which I will stock with fish for feeding.
This is a Federal and State managed Woodland, so please do no harm to any living tree or plant. Feel free to pick up any dead wood for use in the fire ring. (Cut Firewood also provided for free at campsite. Do not bring your own firewood.) We have a self serve store, that will have charcoal, farm fresh eggs, and other seasonal and camping items. Bring some cash.

This was the absolute perfect place for me on a long road trip, this cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's secluded but the hosts aren't far if you need anything else in a snap. The cabin itself and the surrounding area is so beautiful! It was nice to watch the sun rise from the comfort of my bed. J&T are very responsive, and even went out of their way to mail me a pair of earrings I left there, couldn't recommend this place enough!

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin
My dog Teemo and I had a wonderful stay at Jim and Tracy’s A-frame cabin. They really thought of everything when putting this place together. When I arrived after dark, I wasn’t sure I was in the right spot and had spotty service, but Jim showed up within minutes and even started a fire for us while we settled in!
The cabin had all the necessities for a cozy weekend — plenty of firewood included, a warm bathroom with a handwashing station, and even a guitar, which was such a nice touch to play by the fire. There are a couple of dollar stores nearby for snacks or produce, which was really convenient.
Teemo and I were very comfortable and appreciated how thoughtful and responsive Jim was. We will definitely be back!

The setup was well thought out, everything I needed was right there. I really appreciated all the wood provided for the firepit, it made the evening cozy and relaxing. The location was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, just what I was hoping for. The dogs and I loved hiking through the woods, such a beautiful and serene experience.

10/10. Would give it 6 stars if I could. This place was the perfect escape.
First, the location is amazing. Tucked away, quiet, and—the best part—absolutely zero cell service. My phone became a very expensive brick, and it was glorious. Highly recommend.
The A-frame itself is pure cozy. It got a little chilly, but we fired up the wood-burning stove and that helped keep the cold away
Also, can we talk about the bathroom? Clean. Close by. Not a terrifying spider-shed a half-mile away.
We over-packed by a large amount. Don't be like us. Just bring your clothes, some food, and a good attitude. The host has already thought of everything else.
We'll definitely be back, just with about 80% less stuff.

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin
Absolutely loved staying at the A frame cabin. My partner and I brought our two dogs. Had a great time having bonfires and checking out trails. They also left a pumpkin for us to carve which was so fun and nice of Jim and Tracy to do! Rented the diesel heater and it was well worth it! Jim came and gave us a visit and was very kind. Would definitely recommend checking this place out and hope to come back in the future! :)

Stayed here for a night while on a road trip, and absolutely loved it!! Jim and Tracy have thought of literally everything one could need - such a comfortable and easy stay, while still getting that camping vibe. Communication was great, land was beautiful, and felt safe as a solo camper. Would recommend.

I rented this site with my partner for my birthday and to see someone else’s take on a smaller of off-grid lifestyle. (Apparently one you can haul up a mountain if inspired.)
Fantastic communication with our hosts set us up for success. Jim and Tracy are so considerate!
The site is away from the road enough and the view from the A-frame is pointed away from the driveway (see photo). We enjoyed hearing different birds and the quiet. Almost no outside noise, just an occasional distant truck.
A beautiful variety of trees surround the A-frame. The deck and fire pit area are wonderful to relax in. One of my favorite parts was enjoying the small wood burner inside at the end of the day.

Absolutely loved our stay here! So quiet, secluded, and the stars at night were breathtaking. Jim and Tracy really go above and beyond to make sure their guests have the best experience, providing so many little extras that don’t go unnoticed. We had a pretty chilly night and they stopped by the next morning to make sure we still had enough supplies, and even dropped off some pumpkins for us to carve. Quality campsite and hosts, we can’t wait to return!

Fantastic last minute stay. I needed a place quickly and Bill was communicative and accommodating. The location was easy to find; parking was below their main building and camp was maybe 150 feet from there down a path/lane. Very easy access, but be prepared to haul stuff a little way to the camp. The actual campsite is fantastic. It’s very private, situated very nicely on a clearing surrounded by a heavily wooded area, a three sided shelter, fire pit, and latrine. There are a few short trails down over the hill.
I heard coyotes and barred owls all night. Very lovely experience.

Great campsite! This was a perfect first camping experience for my dog. We were nervous to take her to a larger campground with other dogs and people nearby. She did great without the distraction of others! Bonus points to Bill for the large stock of very dry firewood!

What a great HipCamp . One of the most professionally ran HipCamps I have stayed at. You have to be careful when it comes to HipCamps because a lot are misrepresented in the puctures . This one wasn't ! Jim stooped by and told me about some history in the area and I am always looking for history . We had a great but short chat and he left me to enjoy my camp. So yes , i definitely recommended this HipCamp !!!! 5 stars

Site was easy to access with plenty of firewood and all of the basics. The stars were so beautiful and there was a nice fire pit and lean-to. Gorgeous trees and a beautiful quiet setting. Definitely worth checking out, host was very accommodating for my last minute booking

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin
Had an absolutely fantastic stay at Jim and Tracy’s A-frame! The cabin is at the end of a dead end drive, nestled into the hillside. There are no other houses or campsites on the property and I was immediately struck by how perfectly private it felt. My dog was able to be off leash and explore without fear of traffic or other people.
The cabin itself is adorable! There are so many personal touches, even a blanket left specifically for my dog! I loved the removable window at the back of the cabin and screen for the door- made for great airflow. It is small but Jim let me know I could rearrange things however I’d like to make the space work best. It was a very warm weekend so I opted to put up a tent and sleep under the stars. No light pollution so the sky was incredible!
As a woman camping alone I felt very safe at this property. Jim stopped by a few hours after check in and showed me around a bit which was very appreciated. It is obvious they put a lot of care into their guest’s satisfaction.
I almost hate to give such a great review as this is truly a hidden gem!!
