Located roughly 20 miles from Beaver Creek State Park, DLR Mustang Ranch is a 17-acre peaceful sanctuary for many wild and previously wild mustangs. The Ranch offers veteran and first responder mustang programs year-round. Please let us know if you are a veteran or first responder for a special rate.
Accommodations include a small one-room cabin nestled on a little pond a stone's throw from the main house and veteran program area. The cabin has electricity, a microwave, small refrigerator, tv, futon, heating and cooling; however, it does not have plumbing. Nearby is an outhouse with electricity and a water pump fed from well water. There is a firepit for cooking and picnic tables available. There is also a flat space for tent camping right beside the cabin area. The outhouse and firepit are shared between the cabin and tent campers. If you prefer a more secluded experience, please book both sites. There is space for an RV in the driveway next to the woods with electric hookup and access to the outhouse, water pump, and firepit.
While this is a working ranch with farm animals, our aim is to create a peaceful relaxing environment in order to unwind and enjoy the creation around us. Going in the pastures with horses while unaccompanied by the owners is prohibited; however, it can be arranged for you to meet and interact with the mustangs if interested. There are other farm animals including a sheep, a goat, pigs, donkeys, peacocks, turkeys, chickens, ducks and barn cats on the premises. We also have a couple other ponds available for fishing as well. We raise fresh water prawn and bluegill in the summertime, so late september we have fresh shrimp available. Purchased in 2019, these overgrown acres are now a federally registered Farm with the crop being Trees, and have a 10 year Woodland Stewardship Management Plan with the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources. I will be working hard over the years to bring this back to a healthy stand of mixed hardwoods, full of wildlife habitat, and native vegetation. 2024 saw the start of our EQIP contract which includes killing the non-native invasives, like Tree of Heaven, Autumn Olive, Honeysuckle, and more. 2025 was planting, staking, and tubing of 800 tree seedlings, including Black Walnut, Red Oak, Scarlet Oak, Sugar Maple, Persimmon, and Tulip Poplar.

A common area has a Fire Ring, Outhouse, Water Station, Picnic Tables and Seats, where you can socialize with fellow campers, whether they be family, old friends, or new acquaintances.
Or you can retreat a short distance away to your own campsite, for some alone time. The three campsites are adjacent to each other, but divided by walls of brush and newly planted shrubs. You may hear other campers, but your space is well defined. It is approximately 50-70 ft from the center of one campsite to the next, and a similar distance from the center of each campsite to the common area.
Hiking trails are cut throughout the woods, so feel free to explore. Just stay within the wire fence lines to avoid crossing onto neighboring private lands. The main pond seen from the parking area is off limits for liability reasons. I am working on a smaller ravine pond in the woods, which I will stock with fish for feeding.
This is a Federal and State managed Woodland, so please do no harm to any living tree or plant. Feel free to pick up any dead wood for use in the fire ring. (Cut Firewood also provided for free at campsite. Do not bring your own firewood.) We have a self serve store, that will have charcoal, farm fresh eggs, and other seasonal and camping items. Bring some cash.

Our camp spots are very easy to drive right up to. They are overlooking a small bit of woods. Wake up in the morning to birds chirping. The area has a large clearing for children to play. but the privacy you need to enjoy a nice evening around the campfire. There is a pond for fishing, and a nice deck that is avaliable to use. There is 25 acres here and you are welcome to use it for your enjoyment. We do have fencing to keep our horses in so please we ask to not climb over the fences as they will shock you as they are electric. You will see chickens goats, rabbits, horses, dogs, and cats on our hobby farm. The wildlife you may see include squirrels, deer and racoons fox etc. Located 2 miles from interstate 70 for easy access. NewConcord is just 3 1/2 miles down the road and is the home town of John Glenn you can visit his home place there, or pick up grocerys. Cambridge is the next town away at 8 miles and you can go shopping there, We are also near the Wilds, Blue Rock State Park, and Jesse Owens State park. Hope to see you soon!

Welcome to our 40-acre slice of heaven, where hand-painted trail signs made by kids mark paths like "Coyote Howl Overlook" and "Firefly Lane." This is "The Land" - our family's private retreat that we're excited to share with you for the first time.
You'll choose your campsite from spots throughout the woods with great star views - you'll often catch shooting stars on clear nights. Until now, only our friends and family have camped here, so you're among the first to experience this special place.
Three miles of well-maintained trails are the real star here, winding up and down hills all over the property. The trails take you through woods, valleys, and fields with plenty of wildlife like deer and turkey. There's a shallow creek where you can bring your boots for creek walking and lift up rocks to find crawfish, plus a natural spring to discover. For the adventurous, there's even a steep "mud chute" that requires a rope to navigate down - it's a blast! Don't miss the homemade tree swing for old-fashioned fun.
Beyond exploring, you can tour our orchard and meet our chickens who lay beautiful rainbow eggs - help collect them if you're up for it. We can serve you a farm-to-table breakfast with those fresh rainbow eggs and vegetables from our garden, or set up something really special with an outdoor dinner under string lights. As a retired hotel operator who traded the hotel business for farming, I love making sure guests feel welcome and taken care of.
The Land is fantastic for little kids who love adventure, dogs who need room to run, and groups looking for privacy. The combination of safe exploration and hands-on farm experiences makes for memories that stick.
You'll have a fire ring and level spot for your tent. Firewood is available. Check in at the cabin to charge devices and use WiFi if needed - cell service is good too. Your campsite requires a hike from parking, but our ATV and trailer can haul heavy gear.

Weekend Trip to DLR Mustang Ranch
Absolutely loved this place. My husband and I stayed the weekend to explore the area for our final trip for the year. The cabin was so cozy,we did have our air mattress with us just incase I was unable to sleep on the futon but was surprisingly comfortable. We were exploring most of the time but getting to see and pet the horses was amazing. Thank you for opening your home to us.

The setup was well thought out, everything I needed was right there. I really appreciated all the wood provided for the firepit, it made the evening cozy and relaxing. The location was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, just what I was hoping for. The dogs and I loved hiking through the woods, such a beautiful and serene experience.

This was an awesome place to camp! Usually I don't see the host much, but this host was very friendly and accommodating. The site was about 0.25 miles from where our car parked and he brought all of our things there for us in his trailor. He even came back later to help us blow up our air mattress. The land itself was so secluded and really quite. There is a spring with fresh drinking water. You can see so many stars at night too!

We loved staying at the cabin. It was well furnished and had an amazing view. We had a great time interacting with the farm animals, specially the horses and the cats. The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We are definitely going back for another stay. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a farm stay.

this place is absolutely stunning! it’s very remote but i felt super safe here! the showers and bathroom are wonderful and there’s really good hot water! this is the prefect get away and i can’t recommend it enough! the hosts are wonderful and super helpful!!! my only note is that the roads are a little gravelly on the way so drive safely!!

What a magical place!!!
My business partner and I host reiki & sound Healing events and this property was the perfect location for our participants to hike, relax, and receive! The hiking trails are immaculately maintained and were the perfect grounding experience for our event. We utilized the tent platform at cornerstone camp as a stage in which to hold our participants and ourselves for the reiki and sound Healing session. It was an absolutely beautiful experience!

My friend and I had a fantastic and fun weekend camping on Sheila’s land! The spot is genuinely beautiful and very nice, offering a perfectly secluded and private experience with truly pretty views. Our stay was perfect, the site is beautiful and well kept and the host was very welcoming and kind to our two boys. She showed us all their animals and told us their backstories and even let our oldest help feed the chickens. She provided snacks for the horses which we were able to feed whenever we wanted. They come right up to the tent site and the cabin. We felt very safe and it was easy to find when driving in. Each animal we interacted with was good, the turkey will climb on your shoulder and the cats will sit on you by the fire. We are very happy and plan to come back again!
If you want a more private stay I would recommend booking both the tent site and the cabin if possible. The out house and fire pit are communal so if you don’t you’ll end up getting cozy with some strangers.

We booked this spot for my daughter’s 8th birthday and every detail was perfect. The spot is a short walk from the car, but feels very private and peaceful. We loved the area nearby with swings, toys and the sink at the shelter was very convenient. To top it off, the cinnamon rolls were a delight. We highly recommend!

We usually camp in state parks, but after camping on Sheila's land, we may never camp anywhere else!
We stayed at site 2, Peaceful Stream. The farm was beautiful, we had such a private site, and our hosts were wonderful. Definitely go for the cinnamon rolls - they're wonderful. The land brings forth such a peaceful feeling. And the amenities were more than satisfactory - a clean porta-jon, a shower with a shower bag, and running water. It felt like we were the only people around for miles. The site is a short walk from the car, down a little mulched path. There are even wagons to use to haul your camping gear. The hosts thought of everything, and I know we'll definitely be back.

Fantastic last minute stay. I needed a place quickly and Bill was communicative and accommodating. The location was easy to find; parking was below their main building and camp was maybe 150 feet from there down a path/lane. Very easy access, but be prepared to haul stuff a little way to the camp. The actual campsite is fantastic. It’s very private, situated very nicely on a clearing surrounded by a heavily wooded area, a three sided shelter, fire pit, and latrine. There are a few short trails down over the hill.
I heard coyotes and barred owls all night. Very lovely experience.
