The site was huge and pristine! The weather was not ideal for us novice campers, however, and we cut our trip a day short. But the location was wonderful, and the site was lovely, and the portapotty was very convenient. We will definitely consider returning in the spring with a better tent 😉

First off, communication was great from the start. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival by Margie’s husband and their adorable dog. The property is really pretty. Not really remote but definitely had a feeling of enough privacy. We had our tiny teardrop trailer and stayed at Site #1 at the very front of the property. We would definitely stay here again if needing to be really close to all the trails in the Hocking Hills region.

John’s land is well kept. He and his wife are great hosts. The restroom and showers were very clean. It was wonderful having them available to use. The nights were peaceful. The night sky was beautiful. We’ll definitely be back here.

John and Julie’s property was perfect for our group camping trip. It’s everything other reviewers have mentione; quiet, private, and the amenities offered makes it easy to feel comfortable wherever you fall on the rustic scale. They were also so kind and quick to reply with any questions. Everyone agreed we found the right spot for our annual family camping trip!

This was a great first spot for our first time tent camping with 4 little kids. Easy to get to and in a great location. Super close to the various parks for hiking in hocking hills. Our kids loved their friendly dog, Roxy stopping by too. Will definitely be back!

It became a tradition to come too John and Julie at their site with friends! We love the commodity of the gazebo, the shade, the showers and the kitchen with all the convenience. It is always beautifully maintained and we always have such a great time. We rented the 3 sites and come with a group of friend. We had a great time and plan to come back before the winter!

Beautiful location and grounds. Three well dispersed campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. There’s a pavilion with flush toilets, showers, a refrigerator and a large covered concrete area. They also built a stage area where they plan on doing more concerts.
John and Julie were great hosts. We were there for three nights. John greeted us to show us the lay of the land and then stopped by the next day to make sure we had everything we needed. Julie gifted us some of her beautiful natural handmade soaps. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our family had an amazing stay at Jellystone Park in Nelsonville. We close to the caves, the kids had endless things to do, the floating obstacle course and bounce float at the take were so much fun. The and beach area is beautiful and the pool was phenomenal! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! What made our time so special wasn’t just the Hocking Hills attractions — it was this place and these people. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family, and that meant more to us than words can express. I haven’t felt part of a big, warm family in a long time, and it turns out, my whole family needed that too.
This experience renewed my faith in kindness and reminded me what family can feel like. They fed us, made sure we were comfortable, and even put on an incredible fireworks show — with front row seats!
The property itself is magical. There’s a small cave to explore right on site, and a quiet little creek that became my favorite spot. In the early morning, with sunlight streaming through the trees, campfire smoke curling into the air, and the water gently running by, it felt like stepping into a fairytale forest. That creek also became my refuge on the hot summer afternoons — it was perfect for cooling off.
They’re dog friendly and our dog needed that freedom to run.
We already can’t wait to go back.

The site and location were exactly as described. The area was clean, with a raised platform for our tent. The grounds were wooded and quiet.
This location was great for our daily excursions into the Hocking Hills State Park. Exactly what I was looking for for my son and I on this camping trip.

We had such a great time up here! John and Julie were so welcoming and kind! The area was in a beautiful field tucked away on a hilltop. The area was very private, and each campsite was spread out, if each were full it would still feel private. The land was very well maintained, and so were the bathrooms! It was so nice to have the luxury of a private bathroom and shower while camping, especially on a hot day. The trail and walkways around the fields were fun to explore and full of butterflies and birds! It was also close to town too, so it was easy to head in to visit some of my Athens favorites :) I’d absolutely recommend staying here, and will be back! I think this would be a really great spot to come back with a group of friends!

Really enjoyed the location and losing cell service was an added bonus. It was quiet and perfect. The site was clean and we appreciated the bonus of a citronella candle to keep the bugs away. Close to all things hocking hills.

Couldn’t have asked for a better camping trip for me and my friends,, the owners are so kind and helpful, the space is big and private, the bathrooms are accessible and clean, and is a short drive from town so we could easily get more stuff if we needed,, we would 100% come back here again <3
