Weekend Trip to Indian Lake Adventures

We had a great time glamping in our adorable Indian Lake tiny house! The grounds are well maintained and lovely, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. On the edge of the property is a brew pub with games, cozy seating indoors and out, fire pits, and sometimes even live music and food trucks, which was a pleasant surprise. House was well equipped with many essentials, too. Would definitely stay again!!

The chapel was the perfect quick getaway. Not having to pack a tent was great and a little weather came in during the early morning but my son never even woke up. Richard came out and introduced himself and made sure we had everything taken care of. There was some good fishing and it was very comfortable. Will definitely be back

4 nights at GloryField Hospitality Farm

Had to be in Jamestown, OH for a couple of days, and this Hip Camp site was in the perfect location. The setting was peaceful, and each morning brought a beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy during our stay—I wish it had been warmer so I could have taken a nature walk around the property. The site was easy to access, making arrival and departure hassle-free. Kimberly, the host, was fantastic with communication, and if you're traveling with a group, she has nearby Airbnb properties as well. Looking forward to coming back in better weather!

I loved camping at Flying J. Farm. The owner was really nice and the campsite was beautiful. Inside the cabin, where the shower and water is accessible, there's many interesting pictures and stories to read about. Such as the story about how the cabin was built; which was an enjoyable read! Overall, me, my girlfriend and our friend enjoyed our whole stay there!

One of the best camp sites we have been to. We did some hot tent camping so we were the only ones on the land, but even in the summer it seems like the sites have plenty of privacy. Nice views of the lake and giant fire pits were awesome. We plan to return in the summer or fall. Thanks Richard

Our very first night as life time mobile living. It was completely random and I'm not sure how our night would have ended without HipCamp or Joshua's home for us to stay in that night. Living city life all the time, and waking up in their backyard was actually quite beautiful and welcome. We needed to leave a little later, and much unlike city life...they were very ok with us leaving late. I only needed to see them to hook up some electric. It took a few minutes for them to notice we had pulled in, but again...this is their backyard they are letting us stay in for a very nominal fee. It was as advertised and worth anyone's boondocking or traveling needs

My stay at flying J Farms on site 3 was perfect. The secluded campsite made me feel like I was a million miles away from everything. I especially loved how well kept and spacious everything was. I'd definitely stay here again.

This site was super nice and easy to get to by car to unload. This site is further away from the other tent sites and already has a picnic table and fire pit handy. It is in the wooded area which made it feel more peaceful and made it easy to find wood for the fire. Our dog loved being able to run around and hike with us. It is super easy to get lost though, so always make sure you stay within site of the path. With it being fall, the leaves made it difficult to find the path but was absolutely stunning.

Jim's place was super cute! Our site (site #8) was really close to the home, but we still felt like we had privacy. We also felt super welcome to explore the land and come and go as we pleased. We stayed on a cold night and have a fully sheltered restroom so close to the site was lovely. We'd definitely stay here again!

The Lake at the Flying J Farm

Good news! Open fire ban lifted, camp fires are ok now! The Flying J Farm is 250 beautiful rolling acres including 100 acres of forest, 6-acre lake small pond, three streams, and numerous fields for crops and pastures with cows. The owner bought the farm in 1998 for his retirement from a faculty position at the Ohio State university. Two buildings, the farm house and old barn, are original dating back to 1831. These have been restored for current use. The mission of the farm is to restore health both in people though the products produced and in the land by farming in a sustainable way with no conventional chemicals, antibiotics, and use of GMO. We host many visitors including tours and events. An on farm market is available to visitors for purchase of our products including grass-fed beef, maple syrup, and fruits and vegetables. The cabin was built using wood from the farm. It has off-grid electricity meaning it is powered by batteries charged by solar panels. There is not sufficient power for devices with a heating element such as coffee makers and hair dryers. You may charge cell phones. For any other use, please check with the owner. Wild Life. There is an abundance of wildlife to be observed on the farm. Deer can be seen at dusk, raccoons can be seen going through your camp food at night (if you put it in your car), turkeys, hawks, vultures, rabbits, coyotes (heard screaming at night), frogs (especially heard at night), fish (jumping), and many song birds (my favorite, the bobolink, May and June only, nesting in the pastures).

The massive timbers and joinery are constant reminders of the meticulous craftsmanship of the era. Owners Chuck and Amanda moved from Northern California and re-established their rescue here in Central Ohio. We have two finished studio cabins. They are very close (2 miles) to the town of Mount Vernon, OH with hiking trails on the property. Pets are allowed but there are free range animals on the property so their safety is priority. We have added a 2 acre fenced in area for dogs off leash. It's our version of a Dog Park. Plenty of bike trails around town and only 20 miles to Mohican State Park. Farm fresh eggs from our rescued chickens and local honey are available for purchase. Money from our vacation rental helps with feeding our rescue animals and expanding our non-profit animal sanctuary.

This 5 acre property is loaded with activities! The stocked pond (catch and release) is a great place to teach your kids how to fish. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! If you see one in distress, please contact the host. The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property. Fresh eggs and produce will be available when in season. Please ask if you are interested. Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Campers have access to a bathroom with a shower that is located in the basement of the cabin. All campers need to check-in with the on-site owners. Parking is not available at your site.
