We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly.

Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic.

Deer, wild turkeys, opossums, crows and raccoons are plentiful and often wander through. Less common are foxes and bald eagles that make their home at Doe Run Lake nearby.

So fun! We stayed the weekend here and didn’t leave after arriving. There’s a ton to do, hiking, an awesome creek, games, bon fire, TV, and a cute “panty” in the barn with glamping goods. The cabin also had a well equip kitchen with a mini fridge. Not to mention the sweet bucket shower with HOT water! Such a game changer. The hosts were so nice and helpful too!

This was a great place to camp with our six and a half year old! We can’t normally get him to hike very far but there were so many fun swings and slides along the way that he was really engaged and ended up doing almost 4miles with us!
The new patio on the hickory tree house was a perfect family gathering spot for uno and charades. Our best family vacation yet.
Be sure to pack some easy on/off shoes with good tread! It can be a little slick between the cabin and outhouse - crocs won’t cut it if it’s wet out.

The driveway definitely added to the adventure—my little Toyota handled it just fine! We saw deer and turkeys and enjoyed a beautiful view the whole time. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing weekend getaway.
The hosts were very accommodating with our late-night check-in and responded quickly to any questions. It was just a short walk to the pond, where our little Yorkie had a blast swimming—and even helped us catch a few fish, including a bass!
Highly recommend this spot—we’ll definitely be back.

Two of us stayed in the Cottage. The cottage was really nicely decorated and spacious. It had a lot of windows for views with thick curtains for night. There is a full size stove and literally 28 outlets. The greenhouse shower was nice and the water got hot quickly even though it was only 39°F outside. The toilet is an outhouse vault toilet like a porta potty but it does have an electric light and lots of tp. The hosts were helpful and chill. We mostly were there to visit the mounds and caves so we didn't explore much of the property but I think you could have a nice weekend just hanging around the farm. It was also a very reasonable price and close to what we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend it
