Weekend Trip to The Lake at the Flying J Farm

Was moved to site 6 as site 9 was not quite ready....camping site was great. There is a working toilet and shower within walking distance from camp. It was a very peaceful and beautiful campsite! Unfortunately it rained the morning we left and our car got stuck in the lane but Richard pulled us out with his tractor and even fixed the ride with some gravel. We greatly appreciated this! There was even a beautiful pond with kayaks for fishing which we caught a few bass while there.! Richard was a very helpful and a great host! Would highly recommend this beautiful place to get away and relax!

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm

Sugar shack was well placed (next to a small creek with a mini waterfall... Wouldn't be surprised if the water flow is 14 gallons per minute for the waterfall)... There are trails to walk on, which is a positive.

I stopped in at Hilltop for one night with my pup along a road trip and we had a great time. The tent was super cute and cozy. Loved the little porch. Very clean bathroom facilities too. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely come back!

2 nights at Yourway Camp

Really enjoyed the location and losing cell service was an added bonus. It was quiet and perfect. The site was clean and we appreciated the bonus of a citronella candle to keep the bugs away. Close to all things hocking hills.

1 night at Little Darby Outdoors

I loved this place. It was rainy, so I just parked on the gravel drive instead of venturing out into the acres of grassy countryside, but I had the whole place to myself and the views were wonderful. Even though you can't hook up the RV, you have access to fresh water, hot showers, clean toilet, microwave, and some basic kitchen supplies, indoor seating/game area, and a cute kitty to cuddle. Jay was friendly and easy to work with and the location is convenient, GPS works fine with Jay's added directions for getting in the right driveway. I will definitely recommend this to by RVing friends.

Jay was an amazing host and greeted as we arrived, even though we arrived after 10PM! The property was extremely clean and well maintained. He also offers and amazing building for guests with a shower, toilet and small kitchen area with a microwave, ice maker, and coffee maker. The building also has a basement with all kinds of games like ski ball, pinball, foosball, and a Pac-Man arcade table. Really an amazing property for the price! We'll definitely be back.

4 nights at WALKAbOUT Creek Campground

We had a great experience staying at Bear Cabin! We had to find something semi last minute in the area, and this was such a hidden gem! Far enough away from town to feel like you are in the middle of the woods but close enough that you don't have to drive too far for groceries. Cabin was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Area around the cabin was very spacious and we had plenty of room for the kids to run around. Walkabout also had numerous things that anyone can use, including an arcade, to keep us busy no matter the weather. The only downside was not being able to drive up to the cabin, however they did provide a wagon they we could use to take trips back and forth. Would highly recommend and would stay here again!

I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful property to stay at. This site was perfect for my 10x14 tent, a hammock and my truck. The flushable toilet in the outhouse was super nice and the hot shower was amazing after a long hike. Margie and Todd are great hosts, couldn't ask for nicer people. They also had some great suggestions for hiking. Thank you again for making our atay so wonderful. Maggie, Zowie and I can't wait to come back.

Caleb's land is scenic. There's plenty of room to spread out for privacy. I had a teardrop travel trailer. I only stayed one night but would return and stay longer. It's a 25-minute drive to Hocking Hills State Park.

We rented 5 sites at Flying J over Memorial Day weekend with four other families. While the overall atmosphere is rustic, we all had a great time. The kids (and some of the adults) all loved the lake to play on. Richard, the host, was very attentive and accommodating of our groups needs. Will be back again.

Weekend Trip to Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds

The campground isn’t an excellent location in Logan Ohio. It’s about a 10 minute drive to Hocking Hills trails. We like that there was a little bit of a walking trail area in the campground and that we could rent canoes there. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Karin. They are very accommodating and easy to work with. The kids loved the playground and the bouncy pad and the mini golf. The campground was clean and quiet. We all had a great time.

The Lake at the Flying J Farm

The Flying J Farm is 250 beautiful rolling acres including 100 acres of forest, 6-acre lake small pond, three streams, and numerous fields for crops and pastures with cows. The owner bought the farm in 1998 for his retirement from a faculty position at the Ohio State university. Two buildings, the farm house and old barn, are original dating back to 1831. These have been restored for current use. The mission of the farm is to restore health both in people though the products produced and in the land by farming in a sustainable way with no conventional chemicals, antibiotics, and use of GMO. We host many visitors including tours and events. An on farm market is available to visitors for purchase of our products including grass-fed beef, maple syrup, and fruits and vegetables. The cabin was built using wood from the farm. It has off-grid electricity meaning it is powered by batteries charged by solar panels. There is not sufficient power for devices with a heating element such as coffee makers and hair dryers. You may charge cell phones. For any other use, please check with the owner. Wild Life. There is an abundance of wildlife to be observed on the farm. Deer can be seen at dusk, raccoons can be seen going through your camp food at night (if you put it in your car), turkeys, hawks, vultures, rabbits, coyotes (heard screaming at night), frogs (especially heard at night), fish (jumping), and many song birds (my favorite, the bobolink, May and June only, nesting in the pastures). Trash. This sustainable farm has no garbage hauling, please carry away your trash.

McKee Farm - Treehouses and Camping

Built using recycled electric poles, Tullihas in the Trees has a deck perfect for hammocking, an interior dressed with windows so that guests can feel as if they are living amongst the trees, and two small lofts ideal for a restful night's sleep. Oxley in the Woods is our newest treehouse cabin. We've had guests set up a tent on the deck beside the treehouse for fun! Swings, and a slide make the Oxley a fun adventure. The double bed in the loft and the two stacked single beds are comfortable and cozy. The McKee Farmhouse was built in the 1800s and is rich in memories. It's a rustic old house, with wood trim, hardwood floors, and plenty of imperfections that make it unique. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee with a view of the barn and pastures, or cozy up in one of the house's four bedrooms and sleep in. The house is fully air conditioned and heated, has all the amenities of home, but takes you back to a simpler time. Our campsites are all set apart from one another in various locations on the 240 acre farm. Secluded and unique, each campsite has its own charm. We provide guests with a fire ring and a shovel, and some sites have a picnic table. Hiking trails are marked throughout the land. Guests can hike with views of horses, cows, wildlife, corn fields, large boulders, and rustic barns. The dirt roads provide great places to drive ATVs and four-wheelers. An Amish farm borders McKee Farm. Guests should know there is minimal cell service, however, this can offer a great opportunity to unplug. Also on the property is a 16x20 camping/activities platform for your enjoyment. Our doors opened in September 2020 with the intention of creating a simple, yet functional and secluded space for individuals, couples, and groups to come together and enjoy the serenity of nature's beauty. We are one of Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals. You of course do not have to be naked during your visit, but it is a safe place to explore the naturist lifestyle if you've ever been curious! We're located about 25 minutes south of Athens, Ohio and are within 30 minutes of some of the best hiking in the state. Learn more about this land: Come get cozy in the private and secluded hills and hollows of Pomeroy, Ohio! Only 25 min south of Athens, but a world away from work, hurry, and distractions. Retreat into nature with us and return to your inner peace and wellness. WiFi free zone with 1-2 bars of reception, typically. Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals. To access the queen bed in the loft, you will need to be able to assemble and hang up a ~40 wooden ladder to the loft. There is no outdoor lighting, so if you plan to arrive after dark, bring a bright flashlight or head lamp as you will not be able to see anything. The cabin is stocked with spices, teas, coffees, hot chocolate, and all you need to cook meals. There is a microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, and propane grill. Please DO NOT flush toilet paper. The lower level also includes an outdoor shower, a grill and prep/cooking space for you if you want to entertain guests or family! The property includes several trails, a fully stocked pond and a "Zen Den" Which is a walk up camping location, available for rent, and has a platform at the site as well. Just to give you a sneak peek into the future, we also have plans for a Community Kitchen, more Outdoor Showers and a Stage for concerts/events!! Located within the region and just a short 15-20 min drive from The Bluffs, you can find Lake Alma State Park, and Lake Katherine Nature Preserve, where there are beautiful waterfalls on display, and just a little jog north you can explore the famous Canter's Cave, Leo Petroglyphs Nature Preserve and Jackson Lake State Park. The Campground is just a 8 min drive from downtown Jackson, where you can stop in and sample some of their locally famous places! If your feeling pizza, then you have to try Cardo's or, LaRosa's Pizza, If you want some good local BBQ, hop on over to Rowdy's Smokehouse. If you want to try a Western themed Roadhouse, there's Dakota's, or you can relax by listening to some live music while you eat over at Stockroom 601. If Micro Brewery's are your thing Sixth Sense Brewing Co. is the place for you! Want to just take it easy and learn a little about the region? Jackson also hosts the Markay Cultural Arts Center, and Lillian Jones Museum. Everything you need for an absolutely memorable and relaxing getaway!!

This cabin is the only cabin on the property and is attached to a 40 acre horse farm with hiking trails, fun bird and wildlife watching. Close to Athens, the Hocking Hills, Lake Hope and Burr Oak State Park. We also offer trail rides and riding lessons to our guests. We are willing to rent out our kayaks and bicycles and transport those to close by locations for your fun adventure. The farm offers many nice vistas for tent camping or setting up a small camper as long as you don't mind being totally off the grid. We are close to the Moonville Rails to trails for great hiking, biking and horse back riding. We also offer stalls if you would like to bring your own equine and explore the area. For those of you who want to bring your large horse trailer, you can rent my small goose neck which holds three horses to travel to your local fun destinations.
