We bought this 125+ year old farm in 2010 with the hope of bringing it back to life. Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Lexi and Little Bits can be visited while they graze in the pasture. There are chickens and Brindle the barn kitty. We have the perfect place for dogs as well. We have four dogs that get along great with others and our fenced pond keeps them safe.

You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Owners were great- he met us with his golf cart and made setting up our camp site super easy. The site itself was secluded and primative- exactly what we were looking for. Shower/bathroom was clean and very handy. Also, this site is close to the lake which was ideal for fishing. The pond on-site was also great to fish in. Had more success there than at the lake! Would recommend! Only thing to note- we brought our hammock and at this particular site we had to set it up on the entrance path as there wasn't a ton of great trees to use at this particular campsite at Fairhaven.

Tent camping at Melissa’s was quiet and peaceful. There was a large metal fire ring perfect to enjoy an evening and morning fire. Large picnic table to sit around and a great surrounding area. Convenient indoor bathroom and shower for campers. Close to Yellow Springs.

First time camper here and this was the perfect spot! We were the only people there so it worked out nicely in our favor and was a quiet, relaxing trip. We wanted to choose a spot that wasn’t an actual campground and close to the ren faire to get there quickly on Sunday. We spent most of the afternoon fishing (you will definitely catch something) and the entire property is very thought out and intentional with activities. I was looking forward to a little hiking as walking trails are listed but they're just paths from site to site, so I wouldn’t anticipate that but there’s plenty else to do. The bathroom was very nice and they have a small shop for some items you may have forgotten: snacks, propane, rope, ice, wood. This may be an annual trip for us! 🙂

This campground was super clean, family friendly. The camp store has a ton of stuff. Love that's there's firewood on site and pretty cheap. Not to mention hot food at the camp store
We ended up at the brewery. Good drinks, good food. They have food trucks and entertainment on a rotating schedule.
Dog loved the dog park! Nice bonus.

Directions were very clear and someone was there to meet us to help get our gear to the site. Despite not being able to park at the site, the assistance with gear and closeness to the parking made it easy to load in and out. Bathroom facilities are great and the grounds were very private and peaceful. Just note that the ground is quite hard right now, so we had to get creative with staking our tent with weights. Otherwise, site was level, well maintained and had the basics that we needed!

Super cute spot that is well equipped for campers. The sites are a bit close but very well covered. The walk to the bathrooms isn’t horrible (laundry, toilet, shower) and the host helps load your stuff in a golf cart to the spot. Very great stay, a cute little shop they have setup of homemade stuff and snacks.

This was such a peaceful camping experience! Very thoughtful accommodations - the campsite was level and secluded from other campers while not being too far from the bathroom. The pond was set up with boats and life vests and fishing gear for recreation - our kids had a blast! And our hosts were extremely prompt in communicating and wonderful to talk to. Will definitely be staying here again!

I was impressed with how clean and well-maintained our campsite was! The property was fun to explore and had a lot for our young family to do. The bathroom was also clean. The property owner was so friendly and helpful in helping us get our stuff from our car to our site! We purchased homemade canned goods and they are delicious! There were also s’mores kits and other camping supplies available for purchase. We would love to stay here again sometime!

My daughters and I just had the most relaxing experience at Fairhaven. We stayed at the Omicron Ceti III campsite. It was small but plenty of space for the 3 of us and closest to the bathroom.
We enjoyed swimming in the cleanest pond I’ve ever swam in. And the girls enjoyed th kayaks and fishing. The covered deck was so relaxing and looked over the beautiful pond.
The bathroom was incredibly clean and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this to anyone spending the day in YellowSprings. It was just a 25 min drive from that area. We will definitely be back.
