The Viking longhall has been 9 years in the making by a group of semi serious Viking enthusiasts: the result is a 60 foot long building that has 18, 8,x4' sleeping berths. Set apart from the main open area it also boasts 2 meeting rooms and a kitchen.
The campsite is a very peaceful place. Some go as far as to say a healing place! We are proud of what we have achieved and now want people to come out and enjoy it also.
The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway (state route 32) for convenience, but far enough not to be bothered by it. The area is steeped in Native American culture. In fact, the world famous Serpent Mound is but 8 miles away, with many other Adena culture sites within easy driving distance. It's also in the heart of the Amish community. The area is known for its natural beauty with many hiking trails and canoeing opportunities.
The area is awash in beauty and history from the ancient mound culture to the amish culture. The area has many hiking trails some of which are part of the buckeye trail and range in length from an easy 1 mile loop to rugged hikes of many miles.

My friends and I stayed at the Longhall for my 30th birthday and it was one of the most memorable birthdays I have ever had. Our Tribe, Tyr’s Pride Raven Banner, recently held our Winter Nights gathering at the Longhouse in Peebles, Ohio, and it was absolutely incredible.
The Longhouse itself is beautiful—you can feel the craftsmanship, care, and spirit that went into creating such a special place. The setting is peaceful and inspiring, surrounded by nature and perfect for both reflection and community.
David, the owner, was an outstanding host. His hospitality was unmatched—welcoming, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was memorable. He went above and beyond for us in every way.
We stayed for four days and every moment was meaningful. We shared good food, laughter, stories, and ceremony in a space that felt like it was made for such gatherings.

We loved staying at this cabin! It was cozy and rustic, but still accessible and accommodating. The hot tub was lovely, and having access to a kitchen well-stocked with tools made life much easier. Another excellent stay at the longhall! There was some rain throughout the weekend, and the longhall was dry and comfortable through the rain and storms. When the rain broke and the sun came out we were able to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the property. This weekend was a fun and relaxing break from everything. Wow! It was a lovely experience Judy was amazing and my little brother really enjoyed the toy playroom and all the activities that he was able to do!!! We will definitely be back!! My only suggestions is to put out like a Howell Cattle Company sign because it was a little hard to find and if your taking directions to get there do them to Howell Cattle Company because it’ll take you directly there instead of the address recommended here (I don’t know if it was only our experience but the address provided here took us the wrong way)!

For a family with small kids, this couldn’t have been a better setup! My kids(5 & 7 years old) got to hold baby animals, swim, jump on trampolines, play on playgrounds, and run around until their little legs just couldn’t run anymore. This area is so private, we just had a handful of other families camping so we didn’t have to stress about heavy traffic or people. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer, the true definition of southern hospitality. They brought us so many things, went and blew up some massive bounce houses for the kids to play in, and ran to town to get ice cream everyone. My kids are already begging to go back and we’ve only been home for a few hours 😂 They had blackstones, grills, a fridge and a great covered area to eat meals and hang out.
The literal only thing I’d say is you are on a working farm, you will have some animal noise around while you’re sleeping, but with a white noise machine we had zero issue sleeping through it. We went fully expecting that, and my kids were so excited to see animals it was totally worth it.
