We recently moved from the next county over and are enjoying making this place ours and improvements for guests. Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend.
We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly.

Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic.

Deer, wild turkeys, opossums and raccoons are plentiful and often wander through. Less common are foxes and bald eagles that make their home at Doe Run Lake nearby.

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside) Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies. This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do. You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around. I’ve stayed at quite a few Hipcamps over the years, but this one stands out as my absolute favorite by far. The owners were thoughtful and responsive—communication was excellent.
They’ve created a special, idyllic spot that feels like a peaceful retreat. The highlight for me was the beautiful log cabin right on the grounds, nestled beside the RV and camping area. After a long drive from the West Coast, I spent three wonderful nights there and enjoyed every single moment. The setting is incredibly relaxing, with a calm, restorative vibe that made it easy to unwind and recharge.
If you’re looking for a Hipcamp that feels more like a personal sanctuary than just a campsite, this is the one. Highly recommend—thank you to the owners for such a memorable stay! I’ll definitely be back.

Cozy & eclectic space. The Lyra hoop is super fun…wished we didn’t need to hit the road as I would have played on it for longer 😊 We loved the decor & peaceful surroundings outside. Very nice host. She hosts workshops & sells handmade items— again, with more time I would certainly partake. Breakfast was appreciated & was one less thing to worry about for us before continuing on our drive!

The driveway definitely added to the adventure—my little Toyota handled it just fine! We saw deer and turkeys and enjoyed a beautiful view the whole time. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing weekend getaway.
The hosts were very accommodating with our late-night check-in and responded quickly to any questions. It was just a short walk to the pond, where our little Yorkie had a blast swimming—and even helped us catch a few fish, including a bass!
Highly recommend this spot—we’ll definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Stargazer Glamping Campsite
Pretty easy to find. Not on a main road. Not too far from it. Locked gated entry. Surrounded by trees and a creek. Beautiful property. Lots of wildflowers. I took a nap in the hammock when I arrived and unpacked. More than one seating area. Big fire pit. Huge, Beautifully decorated tent. Pretty much everything you would need. Eating and cooking utensils. Towels. I didnt get to use the pretty outdoor shower it was just too cold. Got down to 48. Site says heated but they didnt have a stove set up yet. Other than hearing the family playing across the creek there are no cons. I had a nice peaceful evening. I very much enjoyed my quiet time here at stargazer. Thank you 😊

Lisa was great! Very kind, great communication, just all-around lovely person! Her place was sweet and welcoming - out in the country and away from the noise of the city, yet just a short drive to town, restaurants, stores, etc.

Lisa has created a wonderful, relaxed bed and breakfast experience. The little log cabin is picturesque with gorgeous big windows looking out onto the property. The bedroom was cozy, charming and clean. We had a lovely time socializing with Lisa and the other guest staying there, both of whom were dog lovers- fantastic for us, since our little dog was with us. Lisa also sells her handmade soaps (we bought five or six!) and beautiful artwork. Lisa was the perfect host and even made us a delicious homemade breakfast at 6:30am before we had a long drive ahead of us.

This was our 2nd time staying with Lisa at her beautiful sanctuary and we have officially declared it our home away from home. She’s made breakfast for us, provided accommodations above and beyond the normal standards of hosting and aside from that, she’s an amazing person to get to know. We’ve both rented a room and also the whole cabin and had tremendous experiences both times. As we walk out of the front door, we’re already daydreaming about our next visit. The ambiance Lisa has created with her property is pure bliss and serenity. The walls, rooms, entire home is filled with beautiful art, gorgeous natural light, beautiful greenery and an overall sense of peace and tranquility. This is our third time staying at Jim and Sharon's place, and it won't be our last. There are so many quaint Ohio towns to check out within 15 to 30 minutes of the campsite. But the campsite is so perfect, you may not even want to leave for your entire visit. Stop reading reviews and book it! You won't regret it.
