The land is very private, we were able to access the property with ease. The camp sites were distanced very nicely as we didn’t really hear or see anyone else. Access to the creek was easy, the creek water was very clear in nature. We did some fishing and caught 4 large mouth bass and a species I never dealt with before. After few forums the fish was skipjack herring know. As poor mans Tarpon. You can hear the coyotes late at night hunting animals. We didn’t encounter any wildlife like deer, or raccoons. The owner greeted us very next day. I would def come back during the summer time and do some fishing. Camp site 3 was excellent cause we like being away from people and being on our own. The location took me by surprise. The owner gave us a tip on hot tent camping, I had a stove was too close to the ground. He recommended some stone or concrete blocks. We went to Home Depot and got some cheap stone stepping stones and fixed our problem with the stove.

We have 2 small boys and brought our dog. We have a great time exploring the woods, fishing and making s'mores on the fire! Being so close to the lake was definitely convenient. The little cabin was great so we didn't need to set up the tent. We will book again.

The land is beautiful. The cabin sits on the host's property but is secluded. Love the little fire pit space tucked away. The cabin is well build and was perfect for what we needed!
I did think there were cushions on the cots based on photo 6 by the host, but there is not. While decently comfortable without them, but they are squeeeeeky cots. Would recommend putting down a mattress and skipping the cots if you're a light sleeper like me.
The little terracotta heater was a nice touch. Definitely puts out some heat for as simple as it is! It got down to 40d toward the morning and even with a 25d sleeping bag, it was chilly enough to need the little bit of heat so we were thankful for that!
Would definitely stay again. Such a cute little cabin. I'm not a fishing gal, but the lake was super cute.

Great experience! The campsite was beautiful, private, and well maintained. Listened to the babbling of the creek and stared up at the stars. Not much more you could ask for from a tent camping experience. I would definitely book a site at this campground again.

This was an amazing camping experience! the sites are very private and spacious. the hosts were kind and have taken time to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The land is beautiful, the creek is accessible and lovely. This was our first stay and we will be back!
There are a couple nice restaurants near by (we ate at Fresh to Morrow) and an awesome bike path we will check out next time. We picked up records at a near by record store in an old elementary school building and enjoyed beers and a taco truck at the brewery 3 minutes away. We can’t wait to return and bring friends!

When a rainy night was in the forecast during a camping road trip the Hideaway ended up being the perfect spot. I was saved from having soggy equipment and instead got to listen to the rain hitting the metal roof. The large windows are a plus in this cozy little accommodation surrounded by beautiful woods.

My partner and I had booked a campsite at the nearby Cowan Lake State Park campgrounds for the weekend as we visited the Ohio Ren Faire. Our first night was MISERABLE - other campers were far too close, the surrounding people were rude, it was awful. So awful we scoured the web the next morning to find somewhere else. Luckily the Hideaway was less than 10min away so we grabbed it - and it saved our WHOLE weekend. It is such a quiet, beautiful, pleasant little spot to crash when in the area - and still 20min from the Ren Faire! I'm unsure if we will ever be back in the area, but if we are best believe we'll be staying here!

Phenomenal property to stay on. The peace of the creek, open space to have to yourself, and separated from the nearby neighborhood made this location seem more than remote than it really is. Already have given a referral to a friend and am excited to try to come back for the
Revival in 2026 after talking to locals at the many great businesses/activities in the surrounding area!

We enjoyed our stay. The site was clean and easy to set up. We tent camped. The site is right next to the river, our kids loved it.
Both owners stopped by to say hello and check on us. Friendly and attentive. They told us about a swimming/fishing hole, didn't catch anything but we had fun trying.
Our only confusion was firewood; a 2x4 bundle is one of the squares in the firewood holder. There are 12 bundles in the holder. Sharing if that's helpful. We texted the owner and he replied back right away. Both owners said it was fine to cut and burn any fallen trees etc as well.
Would definitely recommend. Fun little area.

The Hideaway cabin & surrounding land was very comfortable, quiet, & relaxing. The directions were easy to understand and the mowed grass walking paths were invaluable. The lake is a short walk down the lane and there is a hiking path entrance at that same location. We had a geeat time. Thank you!

Love the Shack!!! This property is so cute!! The pond is so fun to fish and watch the carp eat. The cabin is adorable and secluded. We love that the lake is so close, it's basically a lake house cabin! We don't often go back to places but this was our second trip here and we'll probably be back!!
