Shortly thereafter, they set off across the US, staying at various permaculture oriented farms; with herbalists, seed savers and more, looking for inspiration and learning everything they could along the way. Learn more about this land: I'm an artist and my husband and I have a small homestead with chickens and sometimes sheep/goats. Look out for electric netting to keep our herd/flock protected. The lighting over our back field is divine in the late afternoon, or if you prefer a wooded setting, we have a small wooded area across the street from our house. The area is hilly and rather private-- only one neighbor is visible when the trees are leafed out. Electric is accessible from an outlet at the backyard fence or in the barn. We often have fresh veggies and fruit in the garden in the summer, and sometimes extra farm fresh eggs. Nearby (10 minute drive) is Hargus lake, with boat rental and fishing. Also nearby is the Slate Run Historical Farm, (15 minute drive) which is a farm that is fully functioning as a farm from the 1880's with sheep, draft horses, hogs, and poultry at Slate Run Metro park, which has many woodland and wetland trails, as well as a covered bridge and several playgrounds. We are about 35 minutes from the Hocking Hills area, which is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in Ohio.

Weekend Trip to Lil' slice o paradise (Homestead).

My little family and I had a wonderful weekend on Kyla’s land. We were craving some fresh air and time away from the modern grind and that’s exactly what we got! Kyla welcomed us promptly, directed us to the best place to park and place our tent, provided us with electricity, fire wood, and even some fresh eggs in the morning. She was a wonderful host. We loved the chickens, beautiful wildflower garden full of butterflies and her puppy Opal! ❤️ We will definitely be back again soon to camp.

What a perfect way to spend the weekend. Lisa put a lot of thought into preparing the camper. It was decorated nicely and was supplied with all the necessary items to make a weekend away complete. The scenery was peaceful with a perfect view of the river. I will be recommending this spot to all of our family and friends. Would love to bring our grandchildren...lots of room for tents. Great for those who want to give camping a try or those like ourselves who love to camp but are unable to any longer for what ever reason. Highly recommend you give it a try. We were very pleased.

An old railroad line runs through the property and makes for one of our favorite walks on the farm.

The sites were dispersed enough that you will not see other campers. Very quite at night, heard Coyotes in the valley both nights. Visited by a few deers in the area. Fire pits are furnished as well as firewood. Clean porta-potty with short walking distance. Nice place to unwind.

I stay at the farm with my service dog, and upon arrival I was greeted by Olivia and her daughter who gave us a warm welcome and a tour of the farm. The grounds are beautiful and the farm animals were so much fun to watch. Some of the chickens came over to my campsite to say hi too!! Thank you for this peaceful memorable getaway!

We camped in the site closest to the winery on the left. Beautiful deep, wide, private, quiet and treesed site with a large picnic table. The owner, Tracy, stopped by to welcome us. We camped 2 nights and enjoyed dinner and drinks with amazing sunsets over Buckeye Lake. We are already planning our next long weekend there.

Absolutely amazing experience at this homestead! From the moment I arrived (even earlier than planned, which they graciously accommodated), I felt welcomed. The host was incredibly kind and made sure everything was perfect for my stay. The campsite itself was peaceful, well-kept, and a great place to relax. You can tell they put a lot of care into making it a great spot for guests. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable camping experience. I’ll definitely be back!
