Weekend Trip to Camp Rocky Run

Curtis met us in the driveway to show us where to park. The spots are all flat and level with a nice little creek running right next to them. It was a great place to stay after a long day on the road!

1 night at Camp Rocky Run

Very courteous hosts, we met and spoke a few times. Upon arrival Curtis showed us the best route to the camping area near the creek where there’s 30amp, 110 outlets and water hook ups also included WiFi that is nearby with unlimited data. Fire pit with wood to burn and a swing. We have a 40’ travel trailer and fit easily. The creek is shallow and slow moving so your dog can splash all they want.

My adult daughter and I do a get away each year to celebrate our birthdays. We both are exhausted professionals and need to truly wind down. Lisa’s place was exactly what we needed. The house is so deeply chill and comfy! So many cool things to look at and touch. The added plus of the hanging hoop really blew my daughter’s mind and I loved watching her play like a girl again. We will 100% be coming back!!!

Weekend Trip to Artemis Gardens BnB

It was a peaceful stay. A nice retreat while in town for worlds WGI (drumline competition). Lisa made breakfast & coffee each morning. Other guests brought their doggo Fox. It was nice having a furry friend around. I hope to come back next year & bring my husband & dog too!

Weekend Trip to Artemis Gardens BnB

Lisa (human), Nemo, Luna, and Artemis (cats) were amazing hosts during my stay. I came for an outdoorsy getaway and the hiking in the area was plentiful and close. Definitely check out the Charleston Falls - they're amazing year round! Lisa's house is a work of art, each nook and cranny painted and decorated with her own work and charming decor. The room was cozy, the bed comfy, the cats friendly (shout out to my girl Nemo, who will crawl into your skin if you let her. Lots of kisses and cuddles from that ginger sweetheart). The highlight is the sitting room with gorgeous plants and lots of sunlight, looking out onto greenery and critters. Lisa was a gracious host who answered all messages/requests quickly. She made me breakfast and gave me recs for local spots. Spot was easy to find, parking was easy, and although there are a few far-flung neighbors it was 100% quiet.

Weekend Trip to Indian Lake Adventures

We had a great time glamping in our adorable Indian Lake tiny house! The grounds are well maintained and lovely, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. On the edge of the property is a brew pub with games, cozy seating indoors and out, fire pits, and sometimes even live music and food trucks, which was a pleasant surprise. House was well equipped with many essentials, too. Would definitely stay again!!

4 nights at GloryField Hospitality Farm

Had to be in Jamestown, OH for a couple of days, and this Hip Camp site was in the perfect location. The setting was peaceful, and each morning brought a beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy during our stay—I wish it had been warmer so I could have taken a nature walk around the property. The site was easy to access, making arrival and departure hassle-free. Kimberly, the host, was fantastic with communication, and if you're traveling with a group, she has nearby Airbnb properties as well. Looking forward to coming back in better weather!

2 nights at Rustic Retreat

I loved staying at Rustic Reteat! The property is beautiful and Ro wet was a generous host. I don't do the traditional tent camping but I stead have decked out my car for camping with a hatchback tent. Robert had a space for me to pull my car into and stay for the week. Since it was the "off season" I happened to be the only camper here, so it was very quiet. It was also provided an extension cord to be able to hook up my electric and stay comfortably during the last of the winter weather. I highly recommend staying here. The airstreams that are available to stay in look beautiful and are situated to give privacy for any camper.

Rocky Run Creek is a tributary to Seven Mile Creek in Preble County, OH Small creek near residential area. Choice of wide open spaces, partial or full shade spots available. Short walking trail along the creek line is maintained. 'Rocky Cross' Geocach nearby. Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass. If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. Plenty of room for tow vehicle at your camp site. Pet policy: Dogs / pets are certainly welcome subject to the following: No destructive behaviors. (Digging, chewing, etc) No aggressive behaviors. (Toward anyone at any time) Please consider that other guests may be present. As of 5/1/24, a new overflow RV spot has been added with 30A electrical. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.

GloryField Hospitality Farm is a 148 acre active farm and vacation destination. Enjoy your stay and the picturesque view of fields, cow pastures, and wetland pond. Spend your day fishing at the catch & release pond, hiking the 2 miles of mowed trails, you are 3 miles from the Ohio Erie Prairie Bike Trail head. Ask about helping with some of the farm chores. In the evening roast s'mores on a campfire, catch fireflies, or stargaze away from artificial light. The farm is shared space with a variety of short term rental sites; however each site has over 100ft away from each other. The owner Kim also lives on the property in the barn with her 2 golden doodles Scooby & Trixie. GloryField is an active farm so there are also people, vehicles, and farm equipment that have access to the property. They are the only people allowed to drive beyond the driveway. The nearest town of S. Charleston is 3 miles down the road and has a good grocery store, gas station, & dollar stores. Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.
