Ian was helpful with directions and had the tent and firewood set up for our arrival. Loved the seclusion and privacy. Enjoyed seeing a beaver, a large red-tailed hawk and deer, and hearing coyotes, woodpeckers, and owls. The perfect spot for viewing the meteor shower since the site is dark and has a great view of the night sky. It was it was a bit of a walk from the parking to the site, so if you are bringing a lot of stuff and have to make multiple trips, it may be a challenge. Overall a wonderful experience that we will likely book again.

We had so much fun camping at Lavender & Lore! So nice to be secluded and alone right on the lake with beautiful views and perfect accommodations. The restroom was very clean and the tent was huge! Our kids and dogs both loved being able to run around the woods and play in the water. Will definitely return.

My four sons and I had a great weekend stay at Ian and Cathy’s! The boys loved fishing from the bank just steps from the fire pit (with grill grate!) and kayaking the still, peaceful waters of the pond. They caught some beautiful largemouth bass and saw the resident beaver, who you could hear swimming and splashing at night. Ian and Cathy were so kind to bring us farm fresh eggs to make for breakfast and a pouch of dried lavender from their awesome lavender farm. The boys are already talking about coming back in the cooler months when Ian has the yurt up.

The area was freshly mowed, making moving around easy. Beautiful lake views with some permanent seating. Loved the fairy lights on the trees! Only word of caution is there is no swimming allowed in the lake! So tempting!! It was very quiet at night but convenient to the road and town if you want it!

My husband and I loved our visit to Liberty Acres RV Campground and Zoo. Owner Alison was a delightful and helpful. Eight sites with full hookups - water, sewer and electric. We had 30 amp for our 23-foot travel trailer located next to the llamas up the hill from the pond with 4 well spaced sites on a gravel pad with a picnic table surrounded by grass. The site was quiet and peaceful with amazing “Out of Africa” sounds at dawn & dusk. The llamas provided us endless company-fascination on both sides was mutual. Our golden retriever loved his new friends he could watch through the fence. He was very polite. No barking. Our cat watched the llamas and the friendly bluebirds through the window. The pond down the hill, past the other rv sites that were closer together, was lively with capybaras and geese.
There was a gravel road leading to the campsite s, which were level. The road allowed us to walk our pup in a loop from our site to the pond and up the road back to our site.
The zoo is farther up the road with lots of animals: brown zebras, ponies, kangaroos, monkeys, a sloth, tortoises, peacocks, emus and more. No dogs allowed in zoo.
The zoo is only officially open on Saturday and Sunday to the public for $15 person, but Alison let us wander off hours when the gates were open and the zoo team was working. Several great white Pyrenees were keeping watch at the zoo and a 14-year-old grey weimaraner named Zoe was providing zoo tours. Tip: Get the WiFi code no Verizon service

I accidentally goofed and forgot to communicate with the host about my reactive dog, but the host was extremely understanding and able to work with me to find the best site on the property. I ended up camping at the first area available and still had view of the lake and a flat grassy area for my pup and I to stretch our legs. Even being at the front end of the property, the site was incredibly quiet and had a feeling of privacy. The only loud part of the stay were the frogs at night, but I love hearing the chorus of animals at night!
