I loved camping on this farm! Hosts are very friendly and helpful and have a great farm store. Lots of animals around which was wonderful. I was camped by the pond and got a serenade from the frogs at sundown.

Oh my gosh! What a perfect, perfect place for us to stay at during Merlefest. Lance was super kind, helpful and informative. The field was spectacularly beautiful and peaceful. Minimal leveling needed for our 26' travel trailer. Easy access to our site. The tripod doggoe even stopped by to welcome us. And somehow, somehow, we managed to even get a doordash delivery in the middle of a field with no house number. Lol. We loved it here. Would def 10/10 recommend staying here for any event Wilkesboro'ish!!!

The site was better than expected and nestled next to a small creek. While I stayed initially during the week when hardly anyone else was there, the weekend brought more campers but the sites were far enough away to offer some privacy. Cheryl and her family were great!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground! We stayed at site #10, which was a bit secluded—exactly what we were looking for. It was the perfect spot for our group of 11, with 6 tents and 2 cars fitting comfortably. One of the highlights was the adorable "welcome committee" of chickens that greeted us on arrival—such a fun and memorable start to the weekend! Seeing all the animals around the farm gave the experience a unique charm that truly sets it apart from other campgrounds. We also bought eggs from the farm, and it was such a treat to have real eggs from genuinely happy chickens—fresh, delicious, and clearly well-loved animals. We later found out they also sell meats from the farm, which we would definitely have purchased if we had known earlier—such a great offering for campers looking to enjoy local, high-quality food. The hosts were incredibly friendly, talkative, and open. They made us feel very welcome and were generous and responsive throughout our stay. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests and the space they’ve created. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled, and slightly off-the-beaten-path camping experience!

We had a wonderful time staying on this beautiful serene property offered by Cheryl and Tim. Along with their family, they made sure every need we had was met so that our stay would be perfect! They even have fresh eggs, meats and firewood on site in their farm store! It was so quiet and peaceful with our site being right by the lovely creek. We walked down a steep little path at our site into the water and enjoyed the scenery up close. I even did yoga on a little rocky sandbar by the small rapids one day! If you want to relax and get away from the busyness of life, this is your spot!

1 night at Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

amazing! so close to town yet very secluded. The space was well taken care of and the whole place takes on a whole new vibe at night❤️ I am a lighting installation artist and the lighting at night was 10/10. The host was so very accommodating and answered all my questions (which was a lot). I will definitely be coming back! This space is a true gem. Thank you to the hosts for such a fantastic space and hospitality!

4 nights at Peaceful RV Camping W Lake Access

Teresa was a great host and has a lovely piece of property on the lake. the fhu campsite is a bit tricky to get into if you have a larger camper, but we did just fine. she met us at the driveway and walked us thru what we needed to do. we had a peekaboo view of the lake from the camper. the site was level side to side but a bit downhill. we had no issue getting level with our 28 ft tt. it’s a short walk down the hill to the dock behind her home.

This was an awesome little spot. Two tee pees in the fields and 3 camping spots in the woods. The communal fire pit and stage are awesome. Love the cool rainbow last lights in the stage. Also very pretty colored accent lights surrounding the field perimeter. Very cool. Will come again.

We took our 5 year old son here for his first camping trip and we had a great time! The hat field was a nice open area to have room for the tent and to run and play. He also loved feeding the animals and the exploring the woods/creek!

Weekend Trip to Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

We made a super last-minute Hipcamp stop on our way to Uwharrie National Forest and ended up finding a hidden gem! Jodi was amazing with communication, even though we booked so late. The long driveway to the campsite was peaceful, and we were greeted by a couple sweet pups and the nicest neighbor ever—weed-eating his pond, drink in hand, cracking jokes, and telling us all about his geese. Even got a “cheers!” from some folks by a campfire as we drove by. Everyone we met was so friendly and genuine—it just felt good. When we got to the campsite—WOW. Absolutely beautiful. Jodi met us with helpful info and the warmest welcome (even though I showed up as the hot mess express after a long haul with 4 special needs kiddos through I-40 rush hour!). Her husband even came over and offered us a different site that better fit what we were trying to do—letting the kids try sleeping in their own tent! The teepee was already booked (next time, it’s mine!), but the whole place is set up with so much care—string lights, heated outdoor shower, CLEANEST porta-john I’ve ever seen, hammocks, water dispensers, lawn games, fire pits, grills—you name it. It’s a little walk to the bathroom, but everything felt completely safe. I even felt totally fine walking alone with my 4-year-old daughter—which is something I never do at most state parks or campgrounds. That alone says a lot about how safe and peaceful this place is.

This was perfect for a quick getaway with my 6 year old son. Primitive and private camp site with plenty of activities and amenities. Cheryl and her family were accommodating and welcoming! I highly recommend any of the sites on this property. We will be back!

Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, just let us know how much you will need so we will have it ready for you. Our new CAMP STORE offers firewood (delivered to your site!) , meats and eggs from our farm, Tallow & lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish made ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE! Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣 Our cows, pigs, sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks, quail, and geese are all eager to meet you, as are we! This property is part of a working family farm established in 1900. The farm is currently a beef cattle operation giving campers the opportunity to see a working farm. There are 2 ponds on the property available for fishing and paddling. Given the area the farm covers campers will have peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. For NASCAR fans, the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway is within walking distance. If you can't occupy your time here we're within 10 minutes of many local attractions. Wilkes also hosts festivals like; MerleFest, Apple Festival, and Peach Festival. This area is home to many Peach and Apple Orchards one personal favorite is Tevepaugh Orchards. Campers can enjoy the lakeview, lake access, a spacious dock, swimming area, fishing, kayaking, and other lake activities! [This camping spot includes a communal or private fire pit as well as access to a gas grill.] Additionally, this lot is within driving distance to many local attractions listed below. This property is BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat)! There are 2 boat landings within 5 miles of the property, campers are more than welcome to tie up their boat to the on-site dock and park their trailer on the property. Pets are welcome, however note that the property owner has a cat and small dog on site. Pets need to be well behaved and not aggressive to other animals.
