Farm Retreat in Red Oak

1 site · Tent35 acres · Red Oak, NC
Welcome to our 35-acre sustainable farm located in the heart of Red Oak a small town in Nash County North Carolina. We are conveniently located just about 5 miles from the I-64 and I-95 interchange in Rocky Mount. We are also just under one hour from Raleigh and about 30 minutes from Medoc Mountain State Park. We have horses, sheep, chickens, rabbits, cats, and dogs here as well as a small orchard and some gardens. There are 20 wooded acres with a trail through them and a pond to fish in right beside the campsite. Dogs are welcome but they must be kept on leash unless we give permission to use one of our empty pastures for exercise. Bring your cowboy boots and sign up for an introductory horseback riding lesson! Each site has a gravel pad, picnic table, and fire ring. Port-a-potty, sink/hose water, and electrical receptacles are available on-site as well. Please understand that this is a working farm with free-range chickens, pets, and livestock that sometimes make noise. We are also located off a well-traveled country road so you may hear car/road noise.

They have many animals on the farm that tend to vary a bit year to year. They love working the land and sharing their passion with others.

Buckfield Farm and Woods

5 sites · RVs, Tents75 acres · NC
An 80 acre property with about 40 acres of cropland and 40 acres of woods. Lots of wildlife, not far from the Cache River, 2 hours from Nags Head or Virginia Beach. Great for the "get away from it all" feeling. Not for the dainty camper as there are rattle snakes, bob cats, sometimes bears, and more roaming the woods. Lots of deer! You can make your own campsite on the old road surrounding the back field that is surrounded by Weyheuser woods. The farmer and the main tenant are most likely the only people you might encounter occassionally.

Dragonfly Landing at Tranter’s Creek

1 site · RV2 acres · Greenville, NC
Dragonfly Landing is 2.59 acres of land in rural Eastern North Carolina. I live with my family on the eastern side of the property, and the camp site is on the western side. Tranter’s Creek is a beautiful, secluded, fairly narrow but deep creek that is perfect for kayaking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. I have lived here for 19 years, and I love watching the native plants and animals throughout the seasons. Dragonflies are abundant during the spring and summer months, and we have a lovely population of fireflies in late summer. There is a large, unused building near the campsite that serves as a pack house in the early 1900s and then as a clogging club in the 70s.Learn more about this land:Park your self-contained RV on the flat land, and you are right next to Tranter’s Creek which is excellent for kayaking, fishing, and wildlife watching. While there are a few houses behind me, my land faces the creek, and there are no other houses on the creek, so you will be able to enjoy the view. Common wildlife seen here are eagles, herons, the occasional anhinga, river otters, amphibians, and reptiles. The creek itself is about 15 feet deep in the middle. Common fish in the creek are bream. We also have crawfish! There is ample low space to put in your kayaks, and the creek is navigable and beautiful. There are no other houses on the creek in the general vicinity, so your exploring will be quiet and peaceful. My land is fully fenced, so there is no on site traffic of any kind other than my family of three. Outside the fence is farmland and low lying forest. My landscaping is minimal as I prefer the natural state of the flora and fauna. It is a nature lovers’ dream. We are centrally located between Greenville, Washington, and Williamston. We are a 15-20 minute drive from Greenville, NC, home of ECU and many locally owned restaurants and breweries. We are also a 15-20 minute drive from Washington, NC, with its gorgeous waterfront on the Pamlico, it’s many restaurants, and it’s brand new breweries and gin distillery. Williamston, home of the AG Center, is also 15 minutes away. I do have dogs, but they will not be loose during your stay.
