The base camp is nestled in the heart of Uwharrie National Forest, conveniently positioned across from the Eldorado Outpost, which serves as the permitting center and recreational hub for the Uwharrie area. Directly across from the base camp, you'll find fuel, a restaurant, and all necessary camping provisions, all within easy walking distance. Our base camp offers several designated areas for boondocking or setting up a full overland camp. Additionally, an onsite fresh water hydrant is available to refill personal camp supplies, ensuring your convenience and comfort throughout your stay.

Agape Farm South is a lavender farm in Dillon, SC, just across the NC border. This is our second year and have a total of 600 plants growing. The property is 15+ total acre with a cleared 2.8 acre field of which approx 1/4 of that has the lavender. We will be adding more lavender each spring and fall. There are two orchards framing the field and property lines. This is an undeveloped rural property, there are currently to amenities. We have cut out a camping (RV or tent) in the woods on the edge of the field. The shaded spot is enclosed with dog fencing and gated with two rear exits into the woods. This means that you can pull in your camper, or car with tent equipment, close the gate and lets your dogs out. They two can experience some nature in a safe manner. This is something you cannot get in many places. There is a fire ring and firewood, table and 2 chairs. Lavender blooms in spring and summer and attracts many butterflies. The fruiting orchards will start producing fruit in 2024. Please know that this is our home away from home and our future retirement income. Please respect it and leave no trace of your presence. We are happy to share it with you. If you are in a RV/Travel Trailer, there is Bass Lake Campground right on the I95 exit for Dillon that offer water, dump station and propane for your needs. The wildlife is abundant, and although the deer ruin our row covering, we still like having them around and are creating food plots for them at the rear of the property to draw them away from the field (fingers crossed). We loved camping on Chris’s land. He actually came out to greet us after we got set up & he’s a very nice guy. The land is beautiful & right across from the Eldorado Outpost Store where you can get your OHV pass & pretty much anything else you may need on your trip.

Camping here is very convenient to the off road trails without all the dust and is away from the crowds. Quiet and nice shaded location under the oaks. Was my 2nd time there and I will be back.

Riding the zip line that runs from the main structure down to the patio in the woods — hands down my favorite part!

I brought my friend for his first glamping experience to Basecamp_outdoors and it couldn’t have been better! There is every amenity here to make you feel at home. A full kitchen, hot shower, clean beautiful spacious tent with no bugs, a comfortable bed, a covered kitchen, an out house, a porch and a covered eating area. Plus lighting and heating and cooling. Everything is an easy unload from where you park your cars. Plus, there is an additional area down the path where there is a fire platform. Because it was hot, we skipped the fire and used it more as an extra patio and outdoor room. We spent a lot of time there immersed in the beauty of the forest and sky and listening to the birds and music. The main site is located nearer to the road and we hung a couple of tapestries in the lower eating area for a little extra privacy. The host was very thorough in giving us directions and sending a video to show us how to turn on and use everything. He also checked on us via text through the app to make sure we had everything we needed. It was easily accessible and there is plenty to do in the area as far as hiking and water features. If you’re considering this place, you should book it, I can’t imagine being able to find one better!

We visit uwharrie a few times a year and have for years now, and this was by far the best stay we’ve had up there.. the camping spot can be seen from the road, but it’s several hundred feet back to the wood line. All grass and no dust to deal with like you would have if you were staying in the national forest itself. Quiet and just a Short drive to the trailheads and El Dorado outpost is directly across from where the camping spot is at.. we had a great time and will stay there from now on
