1 night at Lindsay Grapes

I had such a wonderful overnight “glamping” in this precious little house! I had some time outside in the hammock and also enjoyed a fire in the pit (with all things needed provided) after dinner. Anything I may have needed during my stay was provided, so no worries on this trip! The only negative were the loud vehicles kinda racing from the 🛑 very close by, but that’s all.

I really enjoyed my experience with my family. Everything was clean and well kept. Even with summer, mosquitos weren't rampant. They have 3 or 4 other units on the property and they're all well spaced out. The tent was a great condition. The kitchen included a small fridge and a small coffee maker and some mugs, plates, and bowls. The game room was a lifesaver. Our dog enjoyed her time as well as she got to run around the property to explore. She's good about being called and coming to us, but for others, I'd recommend really knowing your dog because the property isn't fenced in and they could just run off into the woods. Plenty of shaded areas. The game room was a lifesaver because it had room for us to just lounge around and play games and watch TV. Don't judge, we chose glamping this time for a reason! Lol the long swing was fun. We also found a full size corn hole set, ax throwing (plastic), and as much ice as you could need for your stay. It was a wonderful time. The only BIG thing you should consider is how much there is to do in the immediate area (not much). So either plan to stay on property the whole time you're here, or be sure everything is at a reasonable distance. This is a great spot to just get away.

The bathroom and The Alice were both clean. Due to its location, wooded area, there were a lot of bugs (spiders, roaches, etc) inside both. That was expected but disturbing. The “game room” on the property was really nice and had games and a tv for movie night. We would definitely return. However, non of us were ever able to connect to the WiFi. Even at the game room. So that was disappointing since one of us looked forward to working on a novel. But in general, we had a great time. Also, we were able to communicate via the App if there were any issues.

We love the Tent that we stayed in. We are lucky that it was only us who were staying in the whole place that day. The place is very spacious and beautifully decorated. We had our dinner in their bbq station and we enjoyed it! A lot of activities around to enjoy. We will definitely be back next time and will bring more friends to stay!

Weekend Trip to Basecamp_outdoors

I brought my friend for his first glamping experience to Basecamp_outdoors and it couldn’t have been better! There is every amenity here to make you feel at home. A full kitchen, hot shower, clean beautiful spacious tent with no bugs, a comfortable bed, a covered kitchen, an out house, a porch and a covered eating area. Plus lighting and heating and cooling. Everything is an easy unload from where you park your cars. Plus, there is an additional area down the path where there is a fire platform. Because it was hot, we skipped the fire and used it more as an extra patio and outdoor room. We spent a lot of time there immersed in the beauty of the forest and sky and listening to the birds and music. The main site is located nearer to the road and we hung a couple of tapestries in the lower eating area for a little extra privacy. The host was very thorough in giving us directions and sending a video to show us how to turn on and use everything. He also checked on us via text through the app to make sure we had everything we needed. It was easily accessible and there is plenty to do in the area as far as hiking and water features. If you’re considering this place, you should book it, I can’t imagine being able to find one better!

My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway and we couldn't have found a better place. Sean is an amazing host and the property is a perfect retreat. The well maintained trails are perfect for exploring and an afternoon float on the lake was just what the doctor ordered! We are already planning our next visit with the kids!

Weekend Trip to The Farm at Lowrys

Great spot, huge pond for fishing, caught Bowfin and largemouth bass on the fly rod. Land owners are very, very nice folks. You drive across a giant cow pasture to where the camping spot(s) are. As long as it’s dry, 4x4 or high clearance not needed, but if your vehicle is very low, just take your time and go slow and you will be fine. Not sure what driving across the pasture would be like after heavy rains, so I guess that would just be a decision of the land owners. Was there in June and it was very buggy at night, so just bring bug spray. There were numerous people showing up to fish the pond while I was camping, almost like I was camping on a public pond. No one bothered me at all, but some did get pretty close to the spot I chose to set up my camp so there was not “total privacy”. This is a really cool spot though, very unique, and lots of room for any sized tent, vehicle, RV or trailer. The land owner said that I was free to roam the property and explore and choose any spot I wanted. There are wooded spots to camp at, in addition to under the big beautiful oak trees in the pasture that I chose for my spot. There was also a picnic table under the oaks and a porat-john, it was clean but had A LOT of bugs in it! I will/would definitely camp here again!

We loved camping at Sean’s land! It’s beautiful and it was pretty quiet. Sean was really welcoming, he even gave us fresh eggs and marshmallows. We hope to come back soon!

The lake is beautiful and saw turtles, frogs and was a lovely walk around the entire lake. Unfortunately, I have dogs that scare easily and Scott’s dogs visit the camping area, so I did not stay. But the property was gorgeous and Scott was easy to communicate with and gave me fresh eggs when I arrived.

Cedar Creek was very clean and quiet. The grounds were free of debris and easy to walk around, as well as landscaped beautifully. We arrived latter than expected and were grateful for the hosts’ laid back attitude that allowed us to set up anyway. Thank you for a nice quiet stay.

This was awesome, it has all the great things about camping. Nice outdoor spaces, fire pits, big communal spaces, but without the 'roughing it' due to air conditioning, nice showers, etc. I'd have a hard time getting my wife to go camping but she'd do this all the time!

Beautiful spot in the tall pines. The hosts have everything needed for every level of camping. The nature sounds were amazing - a soundscape to ponder or fall asleep to. Hosts promptly responded to all communication. Recommended!

Heathers place is beautiful. All the animals there were friendly. We actually had the roosters come visit us in our travel trailer. We loved petting the horses, donkeys, and dogs. Heather and Chris were very friendly and accommodating. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay there.

Our luxury RV is your escape from the daily hustle/bustle and lets you get back to nature. You'll have a true camping experience, but with the comforts of home. It's the perfect place to retreat to after a day of hunting, pottery shopping, exploring the Uwharrie National Forest or going wild at the NC Zoo. The RV is a 38 ft Jayco Designer series luxury fifth-wheel. There is plenty of room to park as you reach the end of the graveled drive where you will find the RV parked on private, family land with electric and water provided. It is in a cleared, but secluded spot surrounded by forest and farms. The unit is fully air conditioned for those hot summer days and heated for those chilly fall / cold winter nights. It has privacy, room darkening fabric shades on the windows. Basic toiletries (individual size soap, shampoo, body lotion), all bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets and comforter/quilt) and coffee and condiments are provided. There is a landline phone with free calling (because the cell service is limited) and superfast wi-fi for internet As you go through the door, you enter into the main living area with two super comfy leather recliners, a 42" Roku TV, ceiling fan, electric fireplace and a sofa . The kitchen has refrigerator/freezer, gas 3-burner stove, oven, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. All the dishes, utensils, glassware and cookware are included. The dining area has seating for four. The private master bedroom has a king size bed, 20" TV, closet and plenty of other storage for your clothing and gear. There is a full bath with a walk-in glassed shower, full size porcelain toilet, two sinks with individual storage cabinets. Outside is a charcoal BBQ grill, sink and picnic table for outdoor cooking and dining. In the backyard, you can sit in a pair of rocking chairs on a paver patio while enjoying the firepit, relaxing in loungers, play cornhole or settle down at the umbrella covered small dinette. Remember...as comfortable/luxurious as this RV is, it's still a camper and it isn't like staying in a house. The water pressure is weaker, the toilet flushes with a pedal, and everything operates with a switch.

Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .
