This is a no-power and no-water site situated in Cedar Island, NC. A separate gate provides access to the site, which includes a fire ring, picnic table, and firewood. It is situated on Cedar Island Bay with a spectacular waterfront view and amazing sunrises. The short path to the site is easily wide enough for a full-size truck. This is the perfect place for a self-contained rig, such as a truck-bed camper or van.
Just 3 miles down Hwy 12 is the Island Choice general store and gas station, which has any supplies you will need. Also nearby is the transfer station for trash and the Ocracoke Island Ferry, with a public boat ramp adjacent to it. Another boat ramp is about a mile from the site on Lola Road.
Surrounding the property is a National Wildlife Refuge that is open for exploring on its many trails. There is lots of great fishing and hiking nearby, and it is an awesome place to kayak as well. This is a great jumping-off point to reach the Outer Banks by ferry—come down the day before and be first in line for Ocracoke Island.

Boutique Campground in a Hidden Orchard
We are a boutique campground tucked away in a hidden orchard. The well-groomed property sits on a small peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. The creeks around us contain small reds, trout, mullet, gar, and various other species. It’s great fishing for kids, and the area is known for much larger fish if you have a boat.
(Note: we don’t have a boat ramp, but kayaks and paddleboards can be launched easily from shore.) The water is brackish, and locals typically don’t swim in it.
We can accommodate up to eight full-size RVs in drive-through sites (up to 55' in length). Tow vehicles can be detached and parked separately. We can also host four trucks or vans up to 25' in length in back-in sites. RV slots have 50A power and water, while truck and van sites have 30A power and water.
We also offer one primitive tent site, with three to four more planned, and a glamping tent coming in Spring 2026. All sites include picnic tables and fire pits, and tent campers are welcome to use RV sites.
Please note there isn’t much shade, so it can get hot in the middle of summer. This may be fine for RVs, but tent campers should keep an eye on temperatures. Spring, fall, and early winter are especially pleasant — perfect for sitting around a campfire under the stars. With very little light pollution, stargazing is excellent. Small solar torches provide a soft glow at night, but we recommend bringing a flashlight for walking after dark.
Our bathhouse includes toilets and sinks. We do not currently have showers, but we’re working on adding them soon.
As for location, we’re only a 12-minute drive from Oriental, the sailing capital of North Carolina — a charming, friendly town of just 999 residents. Despite its small size, Oriental hosts many local events throughout the year. About 15 minutes in the other direction, you’ll find larger stores like Walmart, as well as health services, laundromats, car washes, and more.
We’re pet-friendly — we have dogs ourselves — and generally very lenient. However, if there are several dogs on the property, we may ask guests to keep theirs on a leash, especially if any show signs of aggression.

There are many things to do in the area from beaches, to hiking, taking a walk around the local farmers markets on Saturday mornings in Beaufort or New Bern, or visiting the beautiful waterfronts in Morehead City, Beaufort, or New Bern.
There are many locally owned restaurants that all have their own uniqueness. All of them are amazing depending on what you are looking for.
In season, we may offer oyster roasts, and low country shrimp boils as add-on options to your stay while enjoying fireside chats. Feel free to bring your guitar!
Music is a love of ours and we always welcome it.
In regards to the animals, we ask that you do not feed anything to them that isn't already provided. One wrong food could kill them.

North Carolina has bugs, owls, snakes, coyotes, bears, and alligators all of which usually stay away from humans but one never knows. Do NOT put your hands where you cannot see. You may want to bring your own bug spray.

Boutique Campground in a Hidden Orchard
We are a boutique campground tucked away in a hidden orchard. The well-groomed property sits on a small peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. The creeks around us contain small reds, trout, mullet, gar, and various other species. It’s great fishing for kids, and the area is known for much larger fish if you have a boat.
(Note: we don’t have a boat ramp, but kayaks and paddleboards can be launched easily from shore.) The water is brackish, and locals typically don’t swim in it.
We can accommodate up to eight full-size RVs in drive-through sites (up to 55' in length). Tow vehicles can be detached and parked separately. We can also host four trucks or vans up to 25' in length in back-in sites. RV slots have 50A power and water, while truck and van sites have 30A power and water.
We also offer one primitive tent site, with three to four more planned, and a glamping tent coming in Spring 2026. All sites include picnic tables and fire pits, and tent campers are welcome to use RV sites.
Please note there isn’t much shade, so it can get hot in the middle of summer. This may be fine for RVs, but tent campers should keep an eye on temperatures. Spring, fall, and early winter are especially pleasant — perfect for sitting around a campfire under the stars. With very little light pollution, stargazing is excellent. Small solar torches provide a soft glow at night, but we recommend bringing a flashlight for walking after dark.
Our bathhouse includes toilets and sinks. We do not currently have showers, but we’re working on adding them soon.
As for location, we’re only a 12-minute drive from Oriental, the sailing capital of North Carolina — a charming, friendly town of just 999 residents. Despite its small size, Oriental hosts many local events throughout the year. About 15 minutes in the other direction, you’ll find larger stores like Walmart, as well as health services, laundromats, car washes, and more.
We’re pet-friendly — we have dogs ourselves — and generally very lenient. However, if there are several dogs on the property, we may ask guests to keep theirs on a leash, especially if any show signs of aggression.

There are many things to do in the area from beaches, to hiking, taking a walk around the local farmers markets on Saturday mornings in Beaufort or New Bern, or visiting the beautiful waterfronts in Morehead City, Beaufort, or New Bern.
There are many locally owned restaurants that all have their own uniqueness. All of them are amazing depending on what you are looking for.
In season, we may offer oyster roasts, and low country shrimp boils as add-on options to your stay while enjoying fireside chats. Feel free to bring your guitar!
Music is a love of ours and we always welcome it.
In regards to the animals, we ask that you do not feed anything to them that isn't already provided. One wrong food could kill them.

North Carolina has bugs, owls, snakes, coyotes, bears, and alligators all of which usually stay away from humans but one never knows. Do NOT put your hands where you cannot see. You may want to bring your own bug spray.

If you can do without hookups site 4 is beautiful off the point. Could see where the other sites could get crowded with them all booked. Nice area quiet and well kept. everything you need to set up camp. The pad is a little quirky. Your power is on one side of the pad and water and sewer are on the other side. The pad I guessing is 36 feet wide, So you need to park according to how much cable or water line you have.I parked near the power so I had to run 25 ft of sewer line. and it goes up hill at the end so you had to walk out the drain line , There seems to be 2 inlets you need to look around for the lower one it is hidden in the grass. the other inlet sticks up so high it was difficult to get a good drane . both 50 and 30 amp are available. The water is Ocracoke water, I Never did like it You might want to bring bottle water , Although there is no problem with the water it is safe to use , I just don't like the water anywhere on the Island. no picnic table or trash cans. You can deposit trash at the trash depot next to the post office.
Not far from town so community store is just a few minutes away as well as Restaurants and shops. If I keep RVing I will be back .

The campground was a nice little spot next to the road. It seems like the perfect spot for families with younger kids as there's lots of little trails for littles to explore and practice their balance on. I had a great time and Paul was an excellent host to us. During the storm he allowed us to move from our original campsite so our tent wasn't blowing around so much. I had a great time and would definitely go back!

We loved this campsite! There were so many thoughtful little touches that made it nice and welcoming. We came here for one night with our one year-old. We appreciated the “café“ little outdoor kitchen, with pots and pans to cook with. We also appreciated the bathrooms, and the hot shower was really nice! Each of the campsites has a cool design, and it’s right close to the water. We got to use the canoe and go out on the water at sunset. Paul was very helpful and responsive in helping us get the canoe, and super nice to talk to! It was very quiet and peaceful here. We would definitely like to come back someday!

Absolutely loved this place. Amazing “lost boy” vibes and everything you need right there. Cooked all our meals at the outdoor kitchen provided and was nice to have a shower at the end of the day. Beautiful setting that is convenient to Avon yet also private and natural. What a great way to use the space under a beach house! It was perfect to keep our teardrop out of the rain and give us plenty of covered space to spread out. Note that while this home is as close to the dune as possible, the homes on this part of the island are set back from the actual beach so there is a bit of a hilly nature walk to the dune and a steep drop down to the beach. However, that nature walk (complete with wild flowers) was actually our favorite part! Just a note that those who have mobility issues might need to use the public access walkway a few houses down the street which has decking and stairs for better accessibility. The owner is very quick to respond when we had questions. We did have a few minor issues (e.g no hot water or lights in the shower or bathroom) but we loved it regardless and will hopefully be back!
