Great spot for a short stay with oceanfront accommodations. We were able to squeeze our small R-Pod camper under the level and covered parking spot, but most campers will not fit. The driveway has a slight pitch and would require some effort to level. For our group this was a perfect situation.

Ocean View Paradise on Moon Dune
Beautiful setting that is convenient to Avon yet also private and natural. What a great way to use the space under a beach house! It was perfect to keep our teardrop out of the rain and give us plenty of covered space to spread out. Note that while this home is as close to the dune as possible, the homes on this part of the island are set back from the actual beach so there is a bit of a hilly nature walk to the dune and a steep drop down to the beach. However, that nature walk (complete with wild flowers) was actually our favorite part! Just a note that those who have mobility issues might need to use the public access walkway a few houses down the street which has decking and stairs for better accessibility. The owner is very quick to respond when we had questions. We did have a few minor issues (e.g no hot water or lights in the shower or bathroom) but we loved it regardless and will hopefully be back!

Ocean View Paradise on Moon Dune
This is AMAZING for small campers. I have a NuCamp 320 and with careful skill, could back in and completely level. The two hot showers, sink, bathroom, and multiple level decks with a hot tub made camping absolutely luxurious. Direct beach access, quiet and small cul-de-sac type loop. I can't wait to come back.

Privacy, serenity, and amazing beach time! We so enjoyed Moon Dune! Having exclusive use of the decks, patios, outdoor showers and bathroom facilities along with the grilling/cooking area really created a glamping experience all just steps from the beautiful OBX coastline! We also found several great seafood markets allowing us to cook and enjoy the local bounty with Food Lion right down the road. for our other needs!
The hosts Tyann and John were attentive to our needs and explained ahead of time how much leveling needed to be done on the sight. 20amp service and water was available from multiple sources.
In summary, this may be the only Hipcamp with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean on the NC & SC coastline. What a jewel!

Very generous to give me a free night after I had issues getting access to the electric hook up the first day 🥵
Maybe not the best sight for a beginner Rv traveler though as it was hard to back up in between the pillars and then level. Wonderful beach access though!

This site was GORGEOUS. The TWO (HOT!) showers, cute bathroom and hot tub on the 2nd deck level were PERFECT! The neighbors were super nice and the wildlife (YES! We saw several deer at sunset!) was wonderful! The beach was almost empty and the Ocean was beautiful and peaceful. Our whole family (incl. 2 dogs) had a blast! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Hi we never made it my husband hurt his back on Sunday so we had to head back to Maine . We were very disappointed we couldn’t make it. It was the highlight of our trip we want to get it for a week next year, so we wanted to check it out
