The property is located 7 miles off highway 74/76 in Whiteville and 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw, 32 miles to Ocean Isle Beach, 45 miles to Wilmington, 36 miles to North Myrtle Beach. The road is gravel all the way to the camping area with signs for directions. When there’s no burn ban in place or lack of rain i do try to keep firewood on-site but I recommend checking with me before your stay. I live here full time, with two cats & 5 chickens whom are all free range. I live here in a double wide by myself, two outdoor cats. Deer, fox, rabbits, hawks and the like are common visitors. This is brand new to me, lots of improvements to be made in the future to make a guests stay even better, so for right now it’s bare bones. Can accommodate tents or certain campers. No pump out, no electricity or running water for “sites” yet, if ever, but running water is here and available for free. Additions to come soon: outdoor shower, available compost toilet available for rent while here, fresh herbs, vegetables, fresh local eggs, firewood, and covered gathering/ cooking area (not built yet) and much more, I’m really excited. Open to idea’s and options. No fireworks/ gunfire allowed at anytime, no “parties”, but gatherings, campfires, games and fun always welcome. I prefer meeting guests apon arrival to answer any questions and help all feel comfortable. I do have medical conditions that may prohibit it at times though.

We made "someday" into "today" and we are happy to share the experience with you Learn more about this land: We are located in southeast NC, approximately 15-20 miles from area beaches. Our location is very "country" with lots of wildlife (deer, fox, rabbits, birds, etc...) roaming about. It is very quiet in the evenings and overnight. The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter". Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). The book contains our WiFi password (service not guaranteed). Please leave us a note about your stay.

This is brand new to me, lots of improvements to be made in the future to make a guests stay even better, so for right now it’s bare bones. Can accommodate tents or certain campers. No pump out, no electricity or running water for “sites” yet, if ever, but running water is here and available for free. Additions to come soon: outdoor shower, available compost toilet available for rent while here, fresh herbs, vegetables, fresh local eggs, firewood, and covered gathering/ cooking area (not built yet) and much more, I’m really excited. Open to idea’s and options. No fireworks/ gunfire allowed at anytime, no “parties”, but gatherings, campfires, games and fun always welcome. I prefer meeting guests apon arrival to answer any questions and help all feel comfortable. I do have medical conditions that may prohibit it at times though.

My wife and I have been blessed to share our eternal lives with one-another. Many years ago we learned that we cannot wait to "live our lives" when we reach "retirement" so we enjoy each day to the fullest. Some friends couldn't understand when we moved to southeast NC without any PLAN for our future. We are just happy to be alive each and every day that we are here. We made "someday" into "today" and we are happy to share the experience with you Learn more about this land: We are located in southeast NC, approximately 15-20 miles from area beaches. Our location is very "country" with lots of wildlife (deer, fox, rabbits, birds, etc...) roaming about. It is very quiet in the evenings and overnight. The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter". Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). The book contains our WiFi password (service not guaranteed). Please leave us a note about your stay.

We loved Black River Camping Ventures, it’s a most beautiful and serene landscape. Right on the river the views are magical. Walking up to the point and watching the sunset was a breathtaking moment. They have a lovely beach area to launch kayaks and some wonderful swamp and cypress areas to explore. Catfish in the river make fishing a fun time! The camping areas are large and each feature a fire ring with swing over cooking grate, trash can and picnic table. There are a couple of portable-John’s for use which are kept spotless. They even supply tissue, wipes and sanitizer! Mrs Lisa and Mr Eric were absolutely wonderful hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed for a fabulous time. We recommend very highly this camping site for fun family adventures.

Excellent stay! Beautiful space, very peaceful, short drive to Wilmington. Lots of fun little trails to walk our dog, who had the BEST time. Beautiful goats. Host keeps to themselves while still being very welcoming and warm. The compostable toilet area is as described. The free fire wood is great but I'm very glad they accept donations, the wood kept us warm and entertained with fires for our entire stay so we were happy to give a little back. Would definitely stay again.

I came here in early November and wound up extending my stay twice because we enjoyed it so much. Connie and Jeff have a beautiful well maintained piece of property with plenty of level ground for the camper. There were several trails I explored with my pets and plenty of wood for fires at night. Plus only a 15 minute drive to the beach. It felt very private and safe the whole time I was there. I hope to be back someday!

It’s a pretty open area but there are little nooks you can go in for some privacy with plenty of trees between each area. Very cool and unique way of doing things! This is a special place. If you're thinking about visiting, go ahead and do that. My girls are 3 and 5 and we paddled upstream and found enough terrain to explore for a two nighter. I've stayed here two other times to paddle the three sisters which is of course phenomenal. The wildlife diversity is really difficult to beat. Lisa is a great and kind host.
