Within 4 miles, there is an entrance to the Appalachian Trail, rafting along the Pigeon River, the Smoky Mountain 1000 trail, horseback riding trails, 4x4 trails, multiple hiking trails, horseback riding trails, and so much more! Plumtree Campground and Retreat is an off-the-beaten-path property for hikers, bikers (pedal and e-bike), campers, adventurers, parkway goers, mountain lovers, fisherman, and skiers/snowboarders.The property has a formerly used zip line recreation area. Relics remain, with zip lines and bridges still running through the tree canopy and an old climbing wall. These aren’t currently in use, and cannot be explored, but they add a wonderland-like quality to the land. Other features that can be used: a sliding rock waterfall which is a short hike within the campground property, moderate trails for hiking, and mountain biking running from the waterfall through the back of the property (these trails are mountainous, so please enter at your own risk), fruit trees, blueberry bushes, small trout pond, a playground, and an open meadow for star gazing.You are welcome to explore all these features, but please be mindful and respectful of residents and guests, do not enter or explore the greenhouses or gardens, and remain aware that this is mountainous terrain with inherent risks.This is a rustic property in the forest, centrally located to all the area has to offer. Weekend Trip to Pause || Eco-Retreat at Aramesh

I stayed at Lijahs Ridge with my dog, Bandit for 3 nights and could not have been happier. The site was absolutely beautiful with stunning views! There were no other campers while I was there and it felt like my very own private retreat. I enjoyed listening to the songbirds, the hoot owls and even the howling of coyotes at night but my absolute favorite were the horses that visited each evening as they made their way up and down the mountain, grazing along the way. I also came upon them while hiking at Tai Chi Hill while they were playing and it was a joy to watch. On my last day, they visited the campsite and stayed for over an hour. I think they may have fallen asleep as they stood very still for a long time with their eyes partially closed. The gelding is very curious and wants to investigate everything. I loved being able to interact with them. Tai Chi Hill is amazing but the best view is from the horse trail that winds on up the mountain so that you are looking down at the site. I enjoyed being able to hike without having to leave the property and saw a wide variety of plants and flowers including Trillium, Bloodroot, Woodland Stonecrop and May Apples in bloom. Jill and Sara are incredibly gracious hosts. It was a treat to get to meet them. There is a porta potty just below the site with a sink for hand washing and farther down the hill, fresh spring water is available. I will definitely be staying here again and can't recommend it enough!

Let’s start with the list of what I didn’t like: 1. the toilet paper roll was on backwards Now for things I loved: 1. there was toilet paper 2. there was a toilet… 3. in a very nice bathhouse 3. the trails were perfect for our dogs 4. the hot tub was super clean 5. there was convenient power I could go on. It was a really nice site, not far from a convenient store, but with ample privacy and many glamping features. Definitely a great choice!

We were warmly greeted when we arrived, and treated with kindness like old friends the entire weekend. It’s a beautiful location, with an idyllic lily pad pond and captivating serene spots to rest in every direction. The grass was cut nicely on our site, and to allow us easy hiking around the bison pasture and goats. Curious peacocks followed us about. The barn swallows swooped and stole goose feathers and blooming dandelion. And I witnessed a bison stampede, only so briefly, when I suspect they thought I was planning to feed them. After which they returned to peaceful grazing. I can’t say enough to share how much we enjoyed this retreat. Thank you Pat for sharing your Walden Pond with us.

Beautiful land and lovely hosts! The site was perfect for our entire family. The kids loved roaming the land and seeing the animals (especially cows on the other side of the river who decided to take a swim!). There was a campsite within eyesight but the sound of the river made it feel like we were the only ones there. We couldn’t hear another soul, just nature! Beautiful spot. Would definitely recommend.

I loved the view of the mountains! They have provided so many very useful things for camping! Water! Shower! Shelter! Rain or Shine this spot is so sweet! Hot tub was so 😌 relaxing! Firewood provided. Very clean and quiet! Absolutely an amazing experience! Waterfalls everywhere!! Trails to hike!

Amazing campground! Very private and beautiful views. We have a 27ft trailer, so I will say the gravel road up to the campground was a little intimidating at first, but we did make it up and down without any issues, definitely used 4 wheel drive, and you should be fine! Easy access to lot of things to do in the area, and the camp host was very easy to contact! Highly recommend!

Catherine’s property, views, animals and charisma were just a delight. We got the tour and the donkey meet and scratch (highly recommended) and just had a blast. Would 100% go back and stay on the farm. Very close to a great little town Waynesville where we found lots of delicious eats and beers.

This is a wonderful spot to camp. Highly recommend! The hot tub is clean and well maintained. (I am a nurse and a germaphobe). The view is beautiful! I have a teardrop camper and the bathroom was so nice. There is a lot of great hiking close by. If you are on the fence, go ahead and book the site, you won’t regret it.

Loved this campsite! Super secluded, quiet, and great views. They even have possibly the nicest bathroom/bathhouse I’ve EVER seen at a campsite. Clayton & Tiffany were really friendly and happy to help when we had a question. They are also dog friendly here! My German shepherd had a blast exploring around the campsite.

This no ordinary campground. Pause is an adventure that will feel like you are exploring your own private mountain nature reserve. Aramesh is 120 acres of Blue Ridge heaven with something for every wilderness adventure seeker: unmatched mountain views, lush old growth forests, babbling brooks, and miles of trails for all skill levels. The property starts at 3700 ft altitude, with summit at 4500 ft on the Glades mountain ridge. We have only a few campsites on the vast property, so the wind in the trees and birds will be all you hear. Come and stay with us and be renewed! IMPORTANT: 4WD or AWD is required to access our property. There is a sometimes steep and windy gravel road into Pause. Please make sure your vehicle has 4WD or AWD before you book. Campsites: They are 3/4-1/4 mile from the entrance. Some are accessible by 4WD. There may be some vigorous hiking involved, but the views are worth it. The pads are various sizes. Let us know what the needs of your party are and we can help you choose from the available spots. We also have several more remote “off-menu” sites for those seeking a backpacking adventure - ask for more information if your are interested. Hiking: There are several miles of trails on the property. They range from an easy slope to very strenuous. The entire property is fenced so you won't easily get lost. Presnell's Grocery (highly recommended, family-owned store that sells locally farmed products) is 10 minutes away from the property entrance. The Ingles supermarket in Canton is a 15 minute drive. You will find every kind of fast food in that area. There are also several excellent local dining options in Canton, Clyde, and Waynesville which we are happy to recommend to you by request.

Wiseman Ridge is a boutique micro campground for RVs only, first opened in July of 2022. Our property adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville Falls NC with easy access off NC 221. We offer 5 full hook up RV sites with views of Hawksbill, Table Rock and Humpback Mountains. Micro means we have only a handful of sites but that is where micro ends. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space. Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits. Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads. Our campground is for conventional travel trailers and motorhomes only. We do not have bathroom or bathhouse facilities so we cannot allow campers that do not have a self contained bathroom that can hook up to a conventional RV sewer drain and no human waste is allowed in our trash receptacles.
