The land was once our 6th Great Grandfather's and how Fountaintown was formed. The property consists of 84+ acres: 22-acre lake, swamps, creeks, and farmland. We are in a farming community. We take pride in stewardship of the land and waters to keep its natural beauty and help with keeping the balance of the ecosystem. Many animals call it home! (Heron, Ducks, Osprey, Turkey, deer, beaver, fish, and many other wildlife) We have a lake Cat named Tail. She may greet you! The Ponds are stocked with Bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and more. Catch and release. NC fishing license required. JCO currently has 9 RV/Travel Trailer sites on main side that wrap around the lake. A Floating cabin and an A-frame Glamping cabin on main side. Across the lake we have 12 primitive tent sites that spread-out around the property. Views of lake and sunset, little pond, swamp and creek views. The lake is a Fishing lake. Kayaks and trolling boats are welcome. No gas motors. Upon booking we can send a local tourism guide for the area. We are only 50 minutes from the beach and coastal towns. Pet Friendly campsites. The Secret Sanctuary Farm is a co/op located on a portion of Prince George Creek that has a double Oxbow or hairpin turns in the creek. This unique feature prevented loggers from logging the property. As a result, there are many huge old-growth trees on the property as well as a variety of fauna and flora. A truly unique blend of farmland. Including an assortment of friendly animals to interact with. Woodland, wetlands, and a deep spring fed fresh water creek that connects to the Cape Fear River. This is a working farm. Please do not Open any gates to the animals. The fruits and vegetables on the farm are for the members of the farm. Eggs from our chickens will be provided for you to use for breakfast. If you happen to choose a campsite with a kitchen. There is a coffee pot and all cooking utensils. There are four permanent 4 shelters on the property. Composting toilets. Showers are still in the works. All of the shelters have their own composting toilets. Small propane heaters are available for each shelter. The first 1gallon bottle off propane is free with your stay. it will last 5-7 hrs. each additional bottles will cast $6.00 per bottle. There is also solar, powered lights, usb charging stations, fans, and air coolers. each Conestego hut has a locking front door to keep your belongings safe Campfires, hiking, canoeing and kayaking. Kayaks, canoes and lifejackets are available for you to use free of charge. The only requirement is to have a flotation device on or in the boat. Lifejackets and paddles are provided Firewood is provided Some cooking accessories are on site. All the Wilmington beaches are within 30 minutes. Due to all inclusive camping experience. A lot of preparation is necessary. This is primarily why we have a strict cancellation policy.

Lake Linda is a private 6 acre lake that's located on our family's 40 acre property. We are just 5 minutes from Surf City, Topsail Island, and 20 minutes from both Wilmington and Jacksonville. You'll often see ducks and geese on the lake. Lake Linda is a peaceful place, but conveniently located within a few minutes of food, entertainment, and of course some beautiful beaches. On the back half of the property, we also have a small family farm. Pasture raised pigs, chickens, cows, sheep, goats and we even a have a couple of turkeys! We sell farm fresh eggs as well as poultry, beef, and pork, all raised right here on our farm. Our pork & beef is USDA inspected and processed! We try to help our farm animals have a great life while they’re with us. We have two sites available by the lake! One site is on the corner of the lake by the dock. This lakeside site has a 30 amp service. This site does not have water or sewer, however we have 2 full bathrooms in our bathhouse, one even has a pet wash station! The bathhouse is only about 1000 feet away, and you’re welcome to walk or drive down to it! We can also help you fill your water tank and you’re welcome to dump in the full hook up site as long as there isn’t someone camping there. The second lake site has a beautiful view. This lake view site has 110 outlets as well as water. It does not have sewer hookup, but we have 2 full bathrooms in our bathhouse, one even has a pet wash station! The bathhouse is only about 1000 feet away, and you’re welcome to walk or drive down to it! You’re also welcome to dump in the full hook up site as long as there isn’t someone camping there. We also have 2 camper sites available on the farm, as well as a few tent sites. The farm is just a short walk from the lake, so no matter which you choose, you can enjoy the best of both! This is a working farm, we have cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, & turkeys! You’re welcome to meet & enjoy them! We even have a calf that was born here, and we have baby pigs regularly as well! We’ve also recently added a bath house, with two bathrooms. Both have stand up showers, and one even has a pet wash station! We have 2 gas grills on the property for your use as well! One is by the lake, the other is on the farm. We also place picnic tables at all sites before check in! Our little private campground is a hidden jewel in the making. Each campsite is private. We are not a parking lot like so many campgrounds are these days. We are still currently working on infrastructure but are willing to host campers that are self sufficient at a reduced rate for now. We do have a fun play ground, hiking trails, a steam we lovingly named Alligator Gore (to keep the little ones out of the mud). We are pet friendly. Each site has a fire ring or fire pit. 2 nights at A-Frame glamping w/opening wall

Cute spot, perfect for a couple nights away! This site had everything you need, so many fun games. The pond wasn’t full or ready yet but when it is done it’s going to be so nice! The weather day one was super hot out but then day two of our stay it rained in the morning and was cloudy and it was perfect! We enjoyed the sound of rain and views, the wild life and escaping the noise and chaos of life. We played all the games we could while there. There was several fans, a charcoal grill, bug spray, extra cooking utensils, lights, dawn dish soap, all on site plus more that came in handy during our stay. Also hand washing water, a little outdoor shower and toilet set up! Derek was quick to respond and a great host. I would highly recommend!

The site is well furnished (tents, tables, chairs and fire pit) and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The string lights add a great ambience after dark (make sure to ask for them to be plugged in). The only downside is the roosters who start crowing as early as 3:00 AM and may awaken light sleepers.

Weekend Trip to The Homestead At Little Creek

Great space, lovely property, wonderful hosts. We had a group of 10 for overnight camping and we had room to spare. We definitely plan to come back! The big tent is BIG and could have probably accommodated all 10 of us. But we chose to spread out a bit so the kids could have their own little tent sleepovers. There were pretty lights, comfortable easy bathroom access, chairs for sitting around the fire, a gate to keep kids in, and the star attraction was visits from the dog! We also enjoyed watching the cows come up to fence with the baby calves. We spent hours down by the creek.

Peaceful and great location! The family is wonderful. The animals are great, we got to see piglets that were born the same day and there is space to let my toddler and small pup roam. It's close enough to the beach without the crowd. It was wonderful! Thank you guys for the wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to The Homestead At Little Creek

This was such an adorable and peaceful little stay. My best friend and I were looking for a place to crash before a rabbit show and this was a perk because we didn't have to bring our own tent. It looked cute online, and then we got here. Pictures Do not do this place Justice. It is so incredibly peaceful from sitting outside the yurt and watching the cows graze in the pasture next door to listening to the birds chirp in the trees and the frogs peep at night. I was incredibly thankful to have a bathroom with a flush toilet because I'm not all about that pit toilet in the woods stuff at my age. The bathroom was super clean and just a few steps away from the camping area. Sarah and (forgive me if I get it wrong) Jeff are great hosts. Jeff checked in on us to see if we needed anything and to make sure we got settled in ok. Mira the guardian dog suckered me in to giving belly rubs with her big beautiful soft eyes. A few kitties popped by to say hello and enjoyed some pets and scritches. I would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful, quiet spot. It was rainy the day I stayed and the rain sounds on the cabin was so serene and peaceful. Directions and getting to the property were superb. My bestie said I was sleeping in a chicken coop and i replied bock bock! 10/10 would do again.

Weekend Trip to JCO Campground at Lee Baysden Pond

Weather was a bit windy and cold so we weren’t outside as much as we had liked! But we absolutely loved the A-Frame cabin it was so cute and nice! Felt secluded enough and had everything you needed. Even stocked with some cute games we ended up playing when we stayed in for the night! I would recommend when you need a night away and alone! We will be going back sometime soon to be able to do more outside and use the canoe maybe!

Weekend Trip to JCO Campground at Lee Baysden Pond

Wonderful stay from pre-checkin to checkin to checkout! I wanted a quite relaxing but comfy stay surrounded by nature w a few creature comforts and the Cabin gave me just that. The view from the cabin is so serene. I enjoyed exploring the campgrounds w my pup and meeting some of the fellow campers. The Cabin is clean, well appointed, comfy bed w a splash of holiday cheer (based on when I stayed). Contessa is an outstanding host! I stayed on the grounds for my entire wkend stay but will checkout local attractions Contessa recommended during a future stay. JCO is a special place that’s easy to get to and not easy to forget; I’ll be back to get my overlanding on w my partner (he’s a frequent camper here). The JCO hype is legit!

Weekend Trip to The Homestead At Little Creek

As a first time solo glamper, this exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by the Megan, her husband, and their dog Myra. Traveling alone can be scary, but Myra was near me all night. She also walked me to the bathroom each time I went. The tent had a heater, as well as a fireplace in the glamping area that I used. In the morning, I got to meet all of the wonderful animals on the farm. With this location being only 30 minutes from Dix park, it’s the perfect place to crash after seeing Thomas Dambo’s trolls! Great for a group camping trip, but I loved doing it solo.

Weekend Trip to The Secret Sanctuary Farm

Our time at The Secret Sanctuary was amazing. James and Sola were very accommodating for our short visit, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed and more. They let us spend time with them on the farm and interact with the animals. We learned so much about the animals and how a farm works: James and Sola also taught us about plants that grew wild on the property and about their greenhouses. The camping area was awesome, a short hike from the farm it is almost a completely different world. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed to sleep comfortably. James started a fire for us, brought all of our things from our car via four wheeler and made sure we had what we needed. This was one of the best experiences we have had camping like this, our only regret is not staying longer! Thank you James and Sola for an amazing visit, we will be back to see you soon!

Weekend Trip to The Secret Sanctuary Farm

Words can’t express how wonderful their campsite is! The cabins have comfortable beds, there is everything and anything you would need to stay for a weekend or longer. All you need to bring is food , whatever comfort items you personally want. They have everything! They have grills, fishing equipment, kayaks, life vest, firewood, power to charge phones, bug spray, fans, grilling/ cooking equipment. This is a once in a lifetime place. It is such an amazing special place, tucked back in the woods next to a creek with plenty of shade, chairs , fire rings , shower , camp toilets, dock to fish off of. Plenty of catfish, bowfin, bluegill, bass to find. Each cabin is slightly bigger than the bed , it has solar powered lights that also can charge your phone. Private camp toilets, shower that is from the creek water , and the peace and quiet is unimaginable. James and Sola are amazing people, the nicest people you will find. Anything you need they are there to help. Their farm is a sanctuary that they tend to with animals that are kid safe , chickens, horses, goats and many more. The pride and love they have for their property for your camping adventure is worth every second you are there and every penny. Perfect for romantic spot, a getaway, mental health, whatever your reason is this is the place for you. HIGHLY recommend. The solitude and experience is unbelievable. Beautiful location and setting, fantastic host, gorgeous cabin. Peaceful and perfect. Went for stargazing, but it rained so sat under an umbrella in front of the open fire place, serenaded by singing frogs. It was surreal and perfect.

Weekend Trip to Nick’s Nook

Nick's Nook was exactly what we needed - a safe place for my kids to play and explore and a comfortable, reliable place to camp for the weekend. After booking, I was immediately contacted by Ela, letting me know of additional amenities available by the date of our stay and important info to know. The campground was easy to find and located in a quiet area. Nick promptly greeted us upon check-in and showed us to our cabin. The cabin definitely allowed for the glamping experience with A/C, mini fridge, a light and lots of plug ins for my electrical devices, lock + key. The bed was comfy and place was free of bugs/issues Our site was rather spacious, with our own fire pit and firewood, canopy with picnic table. For my younger kids, there was a pool, new swingset, zip line, obstacle course, playground and lots of room to explore. They also had an onsite shower and bathroom + are 45 min from the beach. The neighbors at the campsite were adequately spaced from each other and we met some really nice folks, especially Nick and Ela's grandchildren. This whole family is so respectful and kind and easygoing. Also, there was a friendly dog and a few cats on site that my kids loved to play with. We also had record breaking temps and Nick brought us over a fan in addition to the a/c and ice pops. I highly recommend this site and we will absolutely be back again!

We usually tent camp at JCO Campground but chose the A frame for this trip. It was well worth it. The AC was blowing cold and the outdoor shower was amazing. Perfect for a couples getaway. We would highly recommend. And the the host were great as always.

James and Sola were very nice and welcoming! We stayed at Lokis lookout and enjoyed the serenity! Feeding the animals was a nice welcome to the property, and a great way to start off a quiet camping weekend. We found it super convenient that there was lots of camping equipment for cooking that was made available!

Absolutely beautiful!! The cabin was clean and smelled lovely. The lake sounds were so peaceful, you really feel one with nature. I’d suggest an eye mask if you are sensitive to light at night (from the AC, which was much needed and worked well).

Weekend Trip to The Secret Sanctuary Farm

James and Sola are two very amazing and intelligent people who have an obvious passion for what they do and have here. My husband and I had a very wonderful stay, we learned so much about bees, the different flora and fauna around, and were made to feel welcome and at home. At one point in our trip, my husband and I decided to try kayaking for the first time, and I got very spooked. After that, James took us out, taught us what we needed to know, showed us around the creek, and made us feel safer and more comfortable on the kayaks. We were also taught about some awesome fishing tricks and tips from Sola, and now know how to catch and eel! The trip was so much more than just a stay in someone’s cabin. It was a peaceful, welcoming, educational and spiritual space where we had a great time. For anyone considering the Secret Sanctuary, I 1000/10 recommend here.
