Weekend Trip to Smith Mountain Camping

We had the awesome honor of being the first visitors! Definitely would highly recommend. Super easy to find and get to. If you are adventuring in Ocoee you will not find a better location to stay! Stephen was extremely accommodating for our last minute reservation. The view was wonderful and the added bonus was the porta potty on site....which i think I was the first to use because it was so dang clean and smelled nice. Highly recommend this stop. Hopefully we will be returning soon! Thanks for a great pit stop!

1 night at Cherokee Waterfall Campground

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Cherokee Waterfall Campground!! Richard was an excellent host who was very communicative, helpful, & kind. The waterfall site is now our FAVORITE campsite of all time (& we’ve stayed at many sites, including several waterfall sites over the years)! It’s too bad we live so far away or we’d be regulars. The lounge chairs were comfy, the bundle of wood purchased was large, and having a hot shower was exactly what we needed after spending the previous couple days exploring Great Smoky National Park. Even with all that exploring of natural beauty, the highlight of our trip was spending the afternoon and evening by the fire, while soaking up the views and listening to the relaxing sounds of the waterfall! Thanks for sharing your wonderful little slice of Heaven with us!!

3 nights at Cherokee Waterfall Campground

This is the best campsite we ever stayed at. The sound of the creek and the view of the waterfall is spectacular. We hung around camp the whole time because it was so nice. Instead of using the full hookups which have no view of the waterfall we parked as close to the creek and enjoyed the view. Bring your friends and family, this site is huge with five fire pits and it's private bathhouse. Richard is very helpful and a pleasure to meet. We loved staying here and will be back. 1 night at Cherokee Waterfall Campground

We enjoyed staying at the creekside campsite. It's only a few miles from town but very quiet. The sound of the creek is relaxing. We have a 25 foot trailer and hooked up to the truck we are 40 feet total. It's a little tight but doable to get in. It's a bonus to have your own bathhouse on site. We loved staying here and will be back. Thanks Richard

3 nights at Honeysuckle Springs Smoky Mountains

Pros- This place is peaceful. The view was mesmerizing. We really enjoy the pop up camper. The hosts were super responsive. They provided us with everything we needed to get to the site. The best part is that they have WIFI. Cons- Camp sites were way too close to each other. It was hard for us to turn on our music enough for all us to hear. All of our concentration was focused on trying to not be too loud. Since we didn’t want to disturb our neighboring sites. For those of you, who like the idea of Meet and Greet while enjoying the beautiful nature view, then this place is for you. The bathroom was super clean. It was good opportunity to get few steps in lol. But it was a little far to walk down in the middle of the night.

We had a great time here. It was quite and secluded. There are 3 cabins on the property, but they're spread out enough to where you're not right up next to each other. They have plenty of walking trails on the property, as well as a private pond with a canoe and fish. My little boy caught his first fish here.

4 nights at Sky High Ridge RV Campground

This was a nicely set-up small campground with a very kind host, Peter, who stays on-site. The location is within a neighborhood, but it is very quiet and feels private. There is a lovely garden on the property and little walking path that the dogs enjoyed. The sites are fairly close together, which we enjoyed because we went travelling with multiple family members. In the winter/early spring, you have a modest view of distant mountains through the leaf-less trees. When we had to leave our trip early due to unforeseen severe weather, Peter was generous enough to give a refund for those days, which was extremely nice of him! We look forward to coming back to this site in the future!

We loved camping on Peter’s land. The sites are more private than most campgrounds and set up nicely. Because the trees were still (mostly) bare this time of the year, we could see the surrounding mountains quite well. There is a nice garden next to the campground and small walking path around it. Peter was very helpful and nice. We look forward to visiting again.

Site 1 is situated on the top level layout and ideal for larger campers and trailers. Site 2 and 3 are situated on the middle level layout and ideal for mid-sized campers and trailers. Site 4, 5, and 6 are situated on the lower level layout and ideal for mid-sized and smaller-sized campers and trailers. There is no community bathhouse. All ages are welcome. Pets on leash are welcome. Check in time is 11 AM and Check out time is 4 PM but ask the host if you need accommodations on check in or check out timing. Quiet period between 10 PM and 7 AM and peace and rest for all is a priority at our mini camp. Host family asks that you keep the property in the same state that you found it, so please pick up your trash and animal droppings. Our six-acre solar-powered goat farm is a quiet and peaceful slice of paradise away from the chaos and noise but close to so many places to adventure. We have two custom-built RV pads with 15 and 30-amp service plus water and four grass tent locations overlooking a small brook in a forest-shaded park-like setting. Internet is provided by Starlink Business - high speed, low latency, and great for remote workers. We provide solid service throughout the entire property. Work from the top of a mountain!! IP service is available throughout the property - perfect for Van Life or van living. 200-300 down and at least 20-30 up!! Nearby are numerous hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls, and other outdoor activities such as tubing, white water rafting, and boating. If you want to chill, you can check out a local swimming hole. For the next few months we have a kayak guide on-property who can take you and your group through some of the lakes and streams nearby. Contact us for availability and pricing. We have several options for our guests at the farm, including a small zipline, farm activities, loop trail, spring trail, weekly outdoor movies (on request), and our petting area where you can interact with very friendly goats. RV/CAR/VANLIFE We can help by recommending and using local mechanics, on-site RV repair (they come to us), solar and power troubleshooting, and good old-fashioned southern kindness. Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024.
