Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead  If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. Buffalo Creek Vacations was started after our father, Harold, retired from NY as a UPS driver.  He wanted to go somewhere & experience all 4 season!  Him & our mom settled in Haywood County, NC & built their own log cabin & started raising bison.  Then, myself, 3 siblings & our spouses purchases the 40 acres behind my folks 18 acres when it came up for sale.  We decided to build a cabin & then we started rented it out in 2007.  Now, we currently have 6 cabins & 2 train cabooses for rent.  We love living in God's country & raising the bison along w/ a bunch other farm animals.  We love hosting guest on our property & decided after many calls asking if we allow camping, to include a few lucky folks to camp at Buffalo Creek.  If you are looking for something other then "car camping" & being "on top of each other" at traditional camp grounds, then give us a call & come check us out.  You will be glad you did!

I stayed in the Upper Treehouse with my cat and loved it! I was in the area to hike the Great Smoky Mountains for a few days and felt secure with leaving my cat back in the treehouse. The property was wonderful being deep in the backwoods, quiet, the communal kitchen, laundry, fire pit, and little store with very helpful items . If the weather was warmer I would've laid out in the hammocks! My cat and I were warm, comfortable and felt safe. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. It was an extra bonus to meet and connect with other hikers/nature loves/adventure seekers. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would stay again if I ever make it back out to the mountains.

Weekend Trip to Lil Snowbird Farm Primitive Camping

Andrew was an amazing host he checked in on us and also brought our wood up since he happened to be there during our stay. The camps are well spaced and the toilets were very clean as well as the shelter over them. The ground was well maintained and not over grown. It’s a beautiful drive going up to the campground and into the small town. We will definitely stay again.

Great stay! The bunk room was comfortable, they had linens available and a wooden stove to keep the room warm. I was only able to stay one night and wasn’t able to completely explore everything around but I am definitely going to be coming back!

This campsite offers ample room for any size family or camping group. The grounds are safe, clean and comfortable, with electric hookups, hot showers, and a toilet—all while being surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of untouched wilderness. Being here brought back childhood memories of exploring and charting unknown territory. The peaceful waterfall sings a gentle lullaby each night, carrying you into the deepest sleep. There is truly no campsite that compares. My only complaint? I lost track of time. I enjoyed myself so much and felt so disconnected from the outside world that days effortlessly blended into nights before it was suddenly time to leave. This was my parents’ first-ever camping trip, and the host did not disappoint! He was readily available to help them hook up their new RV and made sure they felt at home. By the end of the stay, they felt like pros thanks to his guidance. You can’t go wrong with this site—book now and make those special memories. We are so glad we did!

I loved the small cabin #1 on Carrie and Tom's land. It was the perfect amount of space for two people. Tom was super friendly and made his rounds everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. The river was so close we could walk right down and fish. The grounds were well kept, clean and always kept warm in 20 degree low temps with plenty of heaters and an extra blanket to hang over our door for extra warmth. We will be coming back in the spring and summer and bringing friends for sure to enjoy with us! A+++++

We loved our campsite! Hosts were friendly and helpful. We were right by the river just as the pictures showed and other campers weren't super close. There was a small play set for the kids and an easy hiking trail toward the end of the property. We were able to get firewood on the site and we had a great time!

Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.

Loved tent camping on Big Ian! The views were incredible. We also walked down to enjoy the river. Andy was a great host. Very welcoming and always made sure we had everything we needed. Highly reccommed!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Creek Rest

I cannot recommend this campsite enough. The sound of the creek flowing right beside the site was beautiful and made the entire stay feel calm and peaceful. The campsite itself was spacious, giving my dogs plenty of room to roam off leash while still letting me keep a close eye on them. I also loved having the island trail just a few steps away for easy exploring. It was everything I needed for a simple, stress-free camping trip that still felt secluded and quiet. Perfect in every way. I hope to visit again soon!

The Islandsite is probably one of, if not the most unique and beautiful campsites I’ve stayed at. Brian communicated everything we needed to know ahead of our arrival. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend bringing everything you plan on needing before arriving as the road into town is quite lengthy.
