RockTree has it all—hills, a pond, a creek, and tons of wildlife, thanks to the many bird habitats on the property. You’ll see cardinals, woodpeckers, hawks, finches, squirrels, and even deer and coyotes have been spotted. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and private.
There’s a 1/4-acre track that loops around the property and can be biked, walked, or ridden on our four-wheelers. Currently, we have our 27-ft camper set up near the road for lodging, with plenty of private and convenient parking, as well as a small walk-in campsite at the bottom of the property near our peaceful creek.
The property is a big hill, so be prepared for a workout if you’re here to camp. We live on a quiet street, so please be respectful of our neighbors—they are older folks. We’re looking forward to having you!

Kings Mountain RV Resort has officially opened its gates, welcoming campers from across the United States and beyond. The resort is conveniently located at 241 Battleground Road, Grover, NC, just ¼ mile from I-85 at Exit 2 (Highway 216 South).
The resort is currently in Phase One, a soft opening that offers guests a preview of what is to come. This phase features ten cozy rental cabins and exceptionally large, full-hookup RV sites equipped with 50-amp electric service, water, sewer, and high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property. During this phase, guests can enjoy reduced pricing while select amenities are still under construction.
Now open is the resort’s beautiful new Clubhouse, which includes a welcoming reception area, coffee bar, single-serve wine and beer bar, and a well-stocked store offering RV and camping supplies, snacks, beverages, and souvenirs. Additional clubhouse features include restrooms, a laundry facility, area attraction information, customer service, a comfortable common lounge with a 70-inch television, a community bulletin board, and more.
Current amenities include a basketball court, pickleball court, dog park, cornhole, playground and more. In the coming months, guests will also enjoy exciting new additions such as live entertainment, outdoor movies, a zero-entry swimming pool with wet deck and water features, gazebos, landscaped foliage, horseshoes, and expanded sports options including tournaments.
Once construction is fully completed, the resort’s Activities and Entertainment Coordinator will lead a variety of structured activities for all ages throughout the year. We did a quick overnight here on our way to western North Carolina. It is very convenient off of 40. The site was right next to the pond and it was super quiet, level and private. Frederick met us at the site to help us get setup. We highly recommend this Hipcamp if you want a nice spot for an overnight or even the weekend.

Robert was very friendly and has a beautiful piece of land. We have a popup camper and needed a place to stay for the night and found this gem. It’s perfectly between Greensboro and Charlotte and a great spot to relax and enjoy nature. There is a pond, bountiful wildlife, and even a few outdoor pianos! If you’re on you’re way through or looking for a relaxing getaway then I highly recommend staying here vs the busier campsites nearby.

Teresa was a great host and has a lovely piece of property on the lake. the fhu campsite is a bit tricky to get into if you have a larger camper, but we did just fine. she met us at the driveway and walked us thru what we needed to do. we had a peekaboo view of the lake from the camper. the site was level side to side but a bit downhill. we had no issue getting level with our 28 ft tt. it’s a short walk down the hill to the dock behind her home.

Ms. Teresa was very accommodating with our 2 day trip to Lake Wylie. I would definitely recommend this spot for camping to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life. Very peaceful and a beautiful spot. We were able to enjoy her dock both morning and evening. She allowed us to dock our boat as well. A++

We enjoyed our spot by the river. Other campers not too close, and other than the occasional barking dog, it was quite peaceful. Sandy bottom river, would be great for swimming in warmer weather. Wading was cold at first but warmed up after a few minutes.
We did not investigate the bathroom area as we are independent/self contained and it looked like they may have been under construction as the doors were off the hinges.
All in all, a great spot for what we needed - a quiet spot to sleep and prepare breakfast. Two nights this trip and will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Emerald Hollow Mine was a short drive away and very fun place to visit.
