Weekend Trip to Coweeta Creek Campground

This is now our "perfect campsite". Stream right behind it, level, quiet, not too far from town. It is what I would consider picturesque and we shall be comming back whenever we come to the mountains of North Carolina. Melissa is a great , and I mean great hostess. Bathrooms are very clean and right near the campsite. Very relaxing place to camp! AAA+++

What a fantastic time! My husband and I and my bestie and her boyfriend all camped at site 3 with covered awning, which was a great space combining creekfront and a covered space to chill when it was raining. Loved the chickens, the quiet, and the hosts! The hosts checked in with us and were definitely available w/o being intrusive. Bathhouse dated but still very clean and usable, and what water pressure! We’re looking forward to coming back, absolutely recommend.

Weekend Trip to Jake's Farm

This was a great place to camp. It is surrounded by farms. Campsite 4 was great because it was quiet and next to a river. If you take your dog make sure they are friendly. There are a few dogs that roam the property. They are nice but if you have an aggressive dog it may be an issue. There were a few other oddities, like someone pulled down into a field near our campsite and slept in their car. They were gone by morning but a little odd. Also, there seem to be others maybe living in various campers on the property. However it felt safe. Chris is super nice! Great guy from what I can tell.

We loved camping at Melissa's campsite. The scenery is great, and the creek is a true refreshing summertime treat. Loved the nearby chicken coop, the rooster was a pretty chill guy, not too loud in the morning. The stargazing at night was fantastic. We had a short drive to the national forest roads for some hiking. And we bought some of Melissa's honey, can't wait for our current honey to run out so we can try it.

Winding Stair Campground is a must visit. They have EVERYTHING! This is the most thoughtfully planned out HipCamp I have ever visited. If you forgot something they have it either in the bathrooms or in the honest camp store that’s open 24/7. They make it so easy to find your site with their detailed maps and to navigate their property with the signs. The animals are amazing, the land is managed so nicely and the creek is so pristine and relaxing. They have great common areas and the bathrooms are amazing!! 10/10 will be back and highly recommend.

What a great place to stay for a weekend! Was closed to the town to visit and tour around, but also the location was great just to enjoy! Got to visit their farm and loved the mill. The bathrooms were well stocked and very clean. Having a shower was great, especially if your kids play in the river as much as ours did. Would highly recommend this place. We plan on coming back in the future.

The cabin is set in a wonderfully secluded spot within the campground. It’s well designed, but still rustic enough to keep you connected to the river out front and the trees all around. This place is ran by kind people that love sharing a very special place.

We absolutely loved camping at Low Meadow Farms! We stayed at campsite #10 and it was private and peaceful. Falling asleep and waking up to the babbling creek was so nice. Kids were able to play in the creek and run around the campsite. The owners were so nice and accommodating. Easy 10/10

BRB is a wonderful spot! Our camper was exactly as described and extremely well maintained. The hosts are very attentive. Loved the rocking camp chairs and cooking on the Blackstone. We will be back!

1 night at Mountain Paradise

Such a lovely peace of property and perfect camping spot. My dog and I explore and enjoyed our time here very much. It was so tranquil and beautiful. I will say getting down was definitely as hard as everyone says. I backpacked in to pack lightly but struggled hard and slipped due to it being steep/muddy and no natural foot holds. Although it was a bit amusing how much it was a struggle, I do not recommend for beginners or if you plan to bring a lot of stuff. Pack light, good boots. Maybe clip your bag to the rope they have up or slide it down as you go so you can focus on your footing as you go down. Good luck, it is worth the trouble if you understand the terrain you'll be dealing with.

7 nights at Coweeta Creek Campground

My husband and I just spent a week at the Coweeta Creek Campground and it was the most peaceful camping trip we have ever had. This small campground has large campsites that are right on the creek. Every night we ate dinner and sat outside listening to the creek and watching the fireflies put on an amazing show. The campground has a nice bathhouse which was always clean and well stocked. The trees around the campsite gave us loads of shade we never had to put out the awning for shade. We will definitely be camping here again. Melissa and Adam were the perfect hosts.

1 night at GlampKnox Canvas Campground

The property was very pretty. We arrived much later than anticipated and left early so we didn’t get to relax and enjoy experience but we would come back when we have more time. The property management and staff were very prompt with responses to questions. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated that bedding was provided. We didn’t use the Jackery power unit but it was a nice feature as was the lantern, which came in handy. The property is also used as a wedding space which would be beautiful for an intimate event.

Low Meadow Farms

Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek. There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area. Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite. Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

Pause || Eco-Retreat at Aramesh

This no ordinary campground. Pause is an adventure that will feel like you are exploring your own private mountain nature reserve. Aramesh is 120 acres of Blue Ridge heaven with something for every wilderness adventure seeker: unmatched mountain views, lush old growth forests, babbling brooks, and miles of trails for all skill levels. The property starts at 3700 ft altitude, with summit at 4500 ft on the Glades mountain ridge. We have only a few campsites on the vast property, so the wind in the trees and birds will be all you hear. Come and stay with us and be renewed! IMPORTANT: 4WD or AWD is required to access our property. There is a sometimes steep and windy gravel road into Pause. Please make sure your vehicle has 4WD or AWD before you book. Campsites: They are 3/4-1/4 mile from the entrance. Some are accessible by 4WD. There may be some vigorous hiking involved, but the views are worth it. The pads are various sizes. Let us know what the needs of your party are and we can help you choose from the available spots. We also have several more remote “off-menu” sites for those seeking a backpacking adventure - ask for more information if your are interested. Hiking: There are several miles of trails on the property. They range from an easy slope to very strenuous. The entire property is fenced so you won't easily get lost. Your climbing efforts will be amply rewarded by stunning views, especially at sunset. Trail maps are available upon request. On-Site Amenities: we provide a clean porta-potty and running water that is spring fed. We ask that you follow "Leave-No-Trace" procedures during your stay. Off-Site Amenities: If you choose to explore the area : we are a 10 minute drive from I-40 Exit 24. Asheville is 45 minutes away; Waynesville is 25 minutes away. Presnell's Grocery (highly recommended, family-owned store that sells locally farmed products) is 10 minutes away from the property entrance. The Ingles supermarket in Canton is a 15 minute drive. You will find every kind of fast food in that area. There are also several excellent local dining options in Canton, Clyde, and Waynesville which we are happy to recommend to you by request.

Wickerd Farm

We also provide a fifty five gallon drum of water for washing and a five gallon container of drinking water. We have an outhouse that is sanitized prior to your arrival. You will have access to two swimming areas on Big creek where you can float or just take a dip and cool off. There is a small “Snack Shack” where you can purchase eggs, ice, candy and snacks. We are located at the foot of Rocky Top mountain with scenic trails accessible with off road vehicles or four wheel drive vehicles. A little over an hour from Dollywood and about half hour from rafting the Pigeon river.

Pisgah Riverbend

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability. Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there. This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not to needy. Site 7, 1 and 9 are the only direct riverfront.

We had moved to this beautiful quiet country road the year before after spending 15 years in the hustle and bustle of West Asheville. When our neighbor put the land up for sale, we jumped at the chance to protect our view (we live across the street) and own another piece of the heaven we have come to call home. This land has a creek running through it, and is in a quiet, rural, residential area that is a mix of newcomers and families who have lived here for generations. The property has a secluded feel to it while being very conveniently located to the wonderful hiking, mountain biking, and trout fishing this area is famous for. We’re also very close to cycle shops, outfitters, groceries, restaurants, etc. We love it here and are excited to develop our plan for this space. We hope you will love it here too.

The campsite is about 1.25 acres and part of a larger property. We set up a travel trailer here while we built our home. Recently one of our neighbors, who does quite a bit of camping, set up their travel trailer in the same spot while their home was being painted.
