We enjoyed our stay for several days with the farm animals and were greeted by Debi and Dave the lab as soon as we arrived. Such a cool spot and away from all the city lights yet close enough to run to the store if needed. Debi was great and very communicative the entire stay. Would definitely come back to stay again!

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

Host Aiden showed me to the cabin when I arrived and responded to all my questions. The cabin, albeit rustic had a certain charm to it. The deck by the river was the highlight of my stay as I was able to relax with a book and watch my dog Obie swim in the river. The host sent me a message the next morning asking if we were okay, I so appreciated the check in. On my way out, my car got stuck due to my fault, Host Aiden quickly came to my rescue to help me get my car out of the mud, so thankful. I enjoyed the serenity of the area, walking around the property with my dog.

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

Me and the family loved camping here. Fairly large campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. Access to fresh water and showers. Toilets are porta John’s. I would recommend to anyone looking to just get away and relax. Not a lot to do for kids but otherwise it’s great!

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

TFC is a great spot! Jud was very welcoming and accommodating and the views from the top are next level. We had visited South Mountains State Park a few times previously and it's great considering how close it is to the Charlotte area. But TFC has even better views of the South Mountains and a pretty awesome river to play in. 30 min from several foothills towns worth exploring. Very easy camper hookup, nice flat spots, and a great facility with bathrooms and some extra seating for the great views. Thanks, Jud and family!

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

My friends and I all had a great time staying at campsite 6! There was plenty of space for us to spread out the 3 tents we brought and have room for our vehicles as well. I was easily able to drive up to the campsite in my smaller car. The portapotty was only a short walk from the campsite. Having running water not directly at the campsite but being able to refill our water jugs was very helpful. Our group also booked thes spa which was a great daytime activity. Even with 7 of us we all had fun. The tiki torch rental was also a great add on and a fun surprise for the others in my group. The hikes to the nearby overlook and creek were short but well worth. We hope to return to campsite 6 in years to come!

We had the most wonderful time at this location. We looked at all 3 sites. Such amazing picturesque views from all 3 sites. Stayed up on top at C. Definitely need a 4WD to get up there. Walked around this beautiful land. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you to our wonderful host. You have put a lot of work into your land it is amazing.

Weekend Trip to Hinsdale Farm-Mountain View Oasis

The views really are great, the outhouse structure(not completed on the inside) made setting up our outside shower and bathroom a breeze. Only downsides were the grass was knee high and the main road has about 200ft of full visibility to the site but for the price no complaints here.

Weekend Trip to White Stone Forge & Farm

We had the best time tent camping here! My fiancé and I wanted to take our two year old daughter camping for the first time and after lots of research and reviews, I found Debi. This was a perfect spot for our girls first time! Not only did she have all the room to run and play, she got to see all the goats, donkeys, pony, dogs, kitty & chickens! Debi went above and beyond for us, we were late getting there and it was dark but Debi left the barn lights on for us and greeted us. She was very friendly and accommodating. We took everything we thought we’d need but ended up forgetting the chocolate for the s’mores, a quick message to Debi and we had chocolate for the evening! I highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again!!!

On of the nicest places we have been, very secluded and private. Love the sound of the stream. It was nice letting our dogs be able to run around with us off the leash. Definitely recommend it and we will definitely be back.

William's land was beautiful! We stayed on lot C and the views were amazing, the area was neat and well trimmed and the sunset was gorgeous from there. Highly recommend! We will be back!!

Now we only stayed here for 1 night but this was definitely one of our favorites we have stayed at. There are two campsites here on the creek, but they are far enough away from each other that it is fine. Nice fire pit, picnic table, and swing for you to have a good time around.

Waterfall camping close to CLT

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

However, as the family members became elderly, farming became the too difficult and the land fell into disuse. In the spring of 2021, our family moved from the hustle and bustle of Charlotte city life to this place we now call our home. Our dream is to bring the land back to its original purpose of farming, and to raise our family here, living off the land and sharing that joy with others. In the near future, we plan to add many more animals, such as chickens, horses, sheep and also various crops. With this will also come improvements to the campsites such as toilets, paddle boats, picnic tables, and Wifi. We look forward to sharing this special place with you. There is an ice cream parlor too!! Another wonderful asset to Troutman is Daveste' Vineyard where there is live music often, and of course wine tastings! This beautiful vineyard is less than 10 mins away.
