BeaverWood Farm (no children)

51 sites · RVs, Tents15 acres · Ferndale, NY
We are a 15 acre farm on the shores of Swan Lake with plenty of campsites sites on the property, accommodating tents, mid sized campers and RV's. No children under 16 please. Depending on how crowded we are, privacy varies, but on most weekends you can be out of site of other campers. Many campsites have fire-pits already, but you're welcome to make your own anywhere you'd like. While camping, you may be visited by over 100 friendly, free roaming FARM ANIMALS! (We just had BABY GOATS born in early May and expect more at the end of June!) You may feed the animals anything you bring, but please don't let them eat plastic bags! We cannot offer reimbursement for tents damaged by animals. This is extremely rare, but it CAN happen. If you do not wish to put your tent at risk, please do not camp here. The farm was once an old bungalow colony and has some glass and metal still in the soil. Please wear shoes. Firewood is available at several locations around the farm. There is a heated sink and shower in the back corner of our main camping area. Boats are available at our lakeside dock, so you can boat to our corner store or venture into the wild north end of Swan Lake. There's a tall mountain for hiking and an awesome secret swimming hole, both within a 10 minute drive. Enjoy a child free visit, as we do not allow children under 16 years old. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. Beautiful and Private Berkshire Escape

3 sites · RVs5 acres · Monterey, MA
Are you looking for a beautiful spot in the Berkshires to park your RV or pitch a tent where you can enjoy the beauty of the area, while being close to all of what the Berkshires have to offer? We are RV campers and know what it is like to find a spot that we want to return to year after year! Funny how our favorite spot is right here on our own land! We wanted our place to be toxic free, without smart meters, wifi or lots of cell phone towers (cell reception is ok, just not perfect!) We have found that the beauty of camping is enjoying what matters most, being in nature, meeting new people, and enjoying the natural beauty of the places we visit. There is plenty of beauty in our town, and all around the area, including mountains and lakes, and theater, great restaurants, and shopping, too! Or you can just chill and cook out at your camper and enjoy swimming at the nearby lake. We hope you will check us out if you like the sound of that kind of camping experience. No bells and whistles and no city noise. Just a quiet place to enjoy nature while exploring the Beautiful Berkshires. We have a spot for your RV or tent for the summer season in the Berkshires, in MA. We are close to a town beach on a beautiful swimming and fishing lake, and many hiking trails near the Appalachian Trail, as well as all of the cultural destinations in the Berkshires. Level spaces for RVs under 30' and limited tent sites. Access to fresh water and electricity, with picnic area. We welcome indoor cats, and small, quiet dogs on leashes, but cannot host larger dogs. Beautiful partially wooded/open setting just minutes from Great Barrington, Lenox, Tanglewood, Lee Outlets, Jacob's Pillow Dance. Hosts offer additional amenities.
