Camped Inn at Sundial Farm is located just north of New York City, less than 40 minutes driving distance and 45 minutes via express train from Grand Central Station. The tiny house is a one of a kind, off-the-grid experience. Camped Inn is surrounded by the natural beauty of Westchester County’s oldest working farm. This is a unique experience that brings us back to a simpler time, and back to nature in a meaningful way, allowing us to rest, unwind, and restore.

The farm is cool as heck. You can spend lots of time just walking the grounds, picking apples in the orchard, visiting the plant nursery, and saying hello to the folks at Plan it Wild, one of the nation's leaders in rewilding native plants, or just relaxing. When you do end up venturing out, you have options galore in any direction. There are countless outdoor activities, within a stone’s throw. Kayaking the Croton River, Kitchawan Preserve, Teatown Preserve and Lake, New Croton Dam, Brinton Brook Sanctuary, Briarcliff-Peekskill Trailway, Riverfront Green Park, Rivertowns RiverWalk, North County Trailway, and so much more.

At night, you can hit a nearby restaurant or brewery - dozens of options within a 5–15-minute drive in any direction - before coming back to the farm to spend the night under the stars by the fire.

The large rocks were excavated from around the farm to make up the fire ring. It's a behemoth, and perfect for gathering and cooking.

Plenty of room at the fold down table for 4. Keep the house door open when eating so you can look out onto the farm and listen for the rooster calls.

The kitchen looks out on the deck and large fire ring. All kitchen necessities can be found, including my grandmother's flatware set!

Welcome to Malouf's Mountain Sunset Campground, a hike in- hike out fully catered camping resort. We supply almost everything you needed to have a relaxing stay in the woods.Established in 2006, our campground is nestled in the foot hills of the Fishkill Ridge.
Camping without a car? No camping gear? No Problem!
Wait until you see the bathhouse - hot showers on one side, flush toilets on the other, and in the middle, sinks for cleaning up and sinks for dishes. There are also two dryers in case your gear gets wet.
We created Primitive sites for the novice camper as well as Platform Tent Camping for the less experienced. 
The owner, Dick Malouf,  wanted to create a location where everyone could enjoy a hike and a place to stay under the stars.

Mickelberry Forest Gardens

The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that  I grew up next to at my parents farm house.  When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.  We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.  We have had our son who is a permaculture expert develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.  It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.  We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.  Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.  Let us know if there is anything special we can help provide for you.  Come visit Mickleberry!!!  
Learn more about this land:Thank you to all the wonderful friends we have met through this amazing program.  We regret that our community at this time does now allow for "transient" renting of property and I unknowingly was operating outside of the zoning rules and regulations of our town.  Please continue to get outside and enjoy all the beautiful places and spaces this world has to offer and keep in touch.  We love you all!  Thank you for your support!   Bill and Amy Enjoy your stay next to our edible forest garden on the Edge of a beautiful meadow along side the orchard of berries, nuts  and fruit trees.  Various seasons will offer you an opportunity to pick your own breakfast in our maturing establishment.   You can enjoy exploring, and examining our 7 year permacultuire food forest with chestnut seedlings already tall enough to climb , 10-foot hazels bearing buckets of nuts and a different selection of raspberries, blackberries, gooseberry, currents, golden berries, service berries and Mulberries.      Enjoy a stroll   through the meadow trail to breath in  morning views and evening fireflies and stars.  This camp area is very private but household amenities are not far away if desired.  This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away.  One mile away we offer  nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities.  The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East.  We can provide breakfast upon request from our free range chickens on our kiwi lined deck with beautiful mountain views.     Come and enjoy the croak of the bullfrog and the sound of the crickets.  We are new and growing our amenities so at this time check the overview for available amenities but you can guarantee we won't disappoint.  Come visit Mickelberry Forest Garden and The Meadow's Edge our newest most private site!!!

Destination Farnch

The Farnch: A developing Destination Farm   Come have a picnic under a tree, spend a few hours and go for a hike in Hudson Highland Gateway Park, a Historic 352-acre park offering hiking, birding, cross-country skiing, fishing & snowshoeing. He have rods and tackle to rent or buy if you don’t have your own. If you’re having a really great time and the kids just don’t want to leave, join us for an evening of sleeping under the stars in the forest at one of our campsites. We also host local Scout Groups, and Appellation Trail hikers. Hikers know that we are located about 2 miles south of the route 9 trail crossing at the Appalachian Market and offer pick up and drop off service from there on weekends. Hudson Valley is a wonderful 4 season go to location and being about an hour away from New York City you won’t spend hours in the car before being able to stretch your legs.   

Mike gave us one of the mushrooms he grew and we cooked it. Was lovely. 

The Sanctuary At Blossom Dell

No car, No problem! We are a hike in-hike out place. If you don't have a car, the easiest way to reach Blossom Dell Sanctuary is to take the short line bus.Please note that owners of the land will be on site.We are not a Commercial Campground.We have multiple camping spots right now with more in the making. Each camping area contains various campsites with and without firepits. Some sit beside the Shawangunk kill, while others are nestled alongside a beautiful and tranquil brook. We also offer camping areas that are not bordered by water. Each campsite within the camping areas are 100 feet or more apart from the other sites in the area.There is a short line bus that goes to Bloomingburg NY from NYC port authority. Ask the driver to stop at 809 Bloomingburg Road, which is in front of the Horse and Sulky Grill. We are only 1/4 mile down York Road, which is across the street from the grill. Our driveway is across the street from a green mailbox.All water sites are NOT exclusive to just the campers at the campsites beside the water. The brook and river are open to all campers until quiet time, which begins at 8 PM and ends at 8 AM.Attractions nearby:-Minnewaska State park preserve-Angry Orchard-Sky Diving-Plane Gliding-Hot air balloon-Bethel Woods-Sam's Point- Ice caves
