As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war. It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well. All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time. During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings. There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest. Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since. Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Our beef herd, comprised of Black and Red Angus, Hereford and Belted Galways has fluxuated as the market and hay supplies demand. We have a vineyard of Marquette grapes that are so delicious, that we have to race the birds for them in the fall. Our land is quiet, off the beaten path, and brimming with beautiful views of mountains, hills, valleys with winding creeks.
This property has seen years of agriculture as a sheep farm, dairy farm and a fence company.

Recently we have added the winter season for the adventurous Clamping crowd. The cottage is very private, with alpacas nearby. Hiking, xc-skiing (bring your own) and The Vast (Snowmobile)trails are also nearby. We have amazing western views of the Adirondack mountains, and are 20 minutes from Middlebury, Vergennes; 1 hour from Burlington and Rutland and 45min from Middlebury Snowbowl Ski Area.

Located within the Adirondack Park, our camp is a private woodlot with a fantastic view of Jay Mountain! You’ll enjoy peace and quiet, with no road noise or light pollution. The eastern exposure of the site provides plenty of sunshine. Although you’re likely here to explore the Adirondack Mountains, our property invites you to truly relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The driveway leads to a level area for car camping or pitching a tent. You’ll also find a stone fire pit with firewood available for purchase (honor system) on site. A unique timber framed outhouse is just a short walk from the campsite. As a rule, we leave the outhouse stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and trash bags. However, because we won’t be on site to restock supplies between guests, it’s best to come prepared with those items.
We think you’ll agree that our location is hard to beat! You’ll see and hear wildlife throughout your stay. Listen for the drumming of a Ruffed Grouse by day, and for barking foxes, chatty coyotes, and hooting owls at night. While fully immersed in a prime Adirondack setting, you’ll still be surprisingly close to nearby attractions and conveniences:

The driveway and campsite are navigable in a vehicle with 4WD/AWD. A bit of extra ground clearance will help. If you have concerns about whether or not your ride can handle it, feel free to contact us… we can weigh in.

A short walk down to the pond and into the pines and you’re suddenly unaware of reality or time…
Truly a beautiful piece of land. Perfect little cabin with such character.
A hot wood stove to keep cozy as the falling snow blanketed the silent forest around us.
Comfy sleeping pads, lights, plenty of wood, delicious water, cookware and other supplies. Outhouse was so clean and honestly adorable lol!!
Truly the peaceful escape I needed. I want to come back and experience what energy every different season offers, I’m sure they each offer magic.

The site is beautiful. Trek to it is tough so UTV rental is recommended. Owners are responsive, accommodating, and kind. We had a great time aside from the bad weather.

We had a great stay here at the end of September with our dog. The property is beautiful. The place is really peaceful - just the sound of owls at night, no traffic noise at all. There's virtually no light pollution, so we had a really nice view of the stars at night. The beach area was well equipped with a fire pit, propane grill, basic utensils, tiki torches and even a screen room so you can eat without being bothered by bugs (though that wasn't really a problem when we were there). The cabin was cozy too. Overall, a very nice experience. We would love to come back again.

What a wonderful experience. Sven was our main contact and was so kind. Definitely recommend paying for a ride to transport gear to the camp site. The campsite itself was exceptional. Comfy bed, a tank of propane for cooking, and lots of firewood. Everything you could ask for. Thank you so much for sharing this land with us, we will be back!

Beautiful secluded spot. Loved the short hike in. Everything was provided on site from lanterns and cooking utensils to firewood and tiki torch fuel. The host even set up a five gallon jug of potable water. Just bring bedding and food and you’re good to go! Wonderful weekend in the Adirondacks with easy access to North Creek.

We had a great time here! Stephanie was friendly and quick to respond. The directions were clear and the site was easy to find. Great location for many trails in the high peaks. Nice tucked away spot for privacy, even when someone is in the other site. The site is spacious and beautiful. We didn’t have service at the site, so I would recommend downloading maps for trails, etc before arriving.

We had a wonderful stay at the Jay Mountain Vista campsite! There is ample room to wander and play. The tent/RV pad was well maintained and easily accommodated two tents, one of which sleeps 8 campers. It's conveniently located next to the Ausable river, which offers quite a refreshing dip after a strenuous and muddy hike up Porter. How nice it was to be able to run over to Jay, with some nice dining options and food markets. Stephanie, the host, is extremely responsive and communicates clearly. Great place to camp!

Weekend Trip to C.Valley Alpaca and Beef Ranch
I just wanted to write about Les and Jenny's place and share our absolute delight with our recent stay. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most adorable alpacas! They added such a charming touch to our surroundings and made for some wonderful photo opportunities. The cabin was immaculate, warm, and cozy with the pellet stove - the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The little touches of cabin decor and the abundant windows for natural light, really made us feel at home (that we wish to have!).
We've already recommended your the cabin to our friends, and we will find an excuse come back again soon! Reminder: no running water and winter-y things like that! But there is electricity & the pellet stove was a luxury!

What an absolutely stunning property. The views are beautiful and the animals, ranging from a barn cat, a wonderful dog, and some endearingly funny looking alpacas, add a charm of their own to your stay. Les and Jenny were gracious hosts, communicative, and even went as far as to invite me to church Sunday morning. Overall, my dog and I had a great stay in a serene environment; it was just the weekend we were looking for. I will certainly be back to stay with the Alpacas again.
