Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

Majestic Farm is an Animal Welfare Approved, Biodynamic Organic Farm. We have 6 acres of Organic Apples in addition to pigs, chickens, peacocks and geese roaming the grounds.

Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest.

I do wish that the site photos were a little more specific to the site and was able to make out the differences a little but easier before booking, but the site we ended choosing was perfect.
The portapotty was close by and very clean
Definitely considering the same site again or even one of the bigger ones in the future (will be returning for the annual Sheep and Wool festival hopefully!)
or even coming back in warmer weather to enjoy the animals and property more.

Amazing spot tucked away in the woods, we felt like we had complete privacy and could barely see other campsites from our spot! The broader campgrounds is perfect for hiking and exploring. Highly recommend.
Campsite 2 is up a steep, unpaved gravelly road. We managed getting up and down in our AWD Zipcar just fine, though.

This place was awesome. The reviews about the ports-potties was true, clean and didn’t smell bad. The hot outdoor shower was great, and the veggies from the garden was a plus. Also the animals were super cute and friendly including the barn cat. The water access was also super helpful. Would 100% stay here again.

We had a wonderful time camping here! The host, Mike, was very friendly and welcoming. We especially loved his dogs – they were so sweet, stayed with us throughout our stay, and even guided us back to our site at night when the road was hard to see. The amenities were great and everything we needed was provided, including firewood, chairs, and a grill. The only thing to note is that we went during Labor Day weekend, so the site was quite packed and there was only one bathroom available. Other than that, everything was good, private, and we would definitely recommend this place!

Only 1 word needed to explain Mike's land and hospitality....Amazing. The place is beautiful and well kept. Big plus that nothing is far away. There's shops, fishing, trails and more nearby while still being deep in nature when in your site. Mike was very welcoming and offered help if ever needed and that was really appreciated. He got 2 beautiful dogs and chickens free roaming at the entrance of his property so make sure to keep ur dogo on leash until you get to your spot, then after that let your dog loose to enjoy leashless activities. My dogo loved the freedom and had enough space to enjoy himself even though he's not so friendly with other dogs. There was still enough space between camp sites that I wasnt that worry about letting him free from time to time. I went on a Thursday and stayed all the way up till sunday and it was definitely worth it. Would recommend Mike and his property to anyone looking for a great place to unwind and escape the noise and big crowds of NYC. Love the place and will definitely come back with a couple of friends next time or if not just me and my dogo again. 5 stars and thank you Mike for being such a great host.

I have at times camped at state parks when a commute home would be too long and exhausting. I did a search on Google maps and this camping spot was nearest. I’m glad I booked it.
It’s nice to have the company of neighbors and animals when traveling alone. The outdoor shower and sink was everything else I needed for the night, and I was greeted by beautiful roosting pheasants on my way out.
It was also quite free of encroaching insects on this mid-August night . (I’ve pitched my tent before in places with high mosquito or spider populations.)
It was a bit more rugged than I could have expected, giving me a bit of pause with my old car, but fine after all.
