Two hours from NYC, close to skiing (hunter mountain/ Windham , Kaaterskill falls, Woodstock, Hudson, Saugerties. FAQ Is my rental secluded? Our property is 8 acres, exactly the same as seven football fields. From your private deck and the big window, you will not see any other houses as far as eyes can see. We added fence panels to make it even more private. We have attached a satellite picture of the property to give you a better idea. As required by zoning law, there is a larger cabin on the property. But it is far enough and visually isolated enough that you won't feel it's presence (at least from the feedback we got from other guests.) We are located in a rural hamlet and a mile down the road there is a tiny town with two cafes , two bars and two restaurants. But your place is one New York block distance away from the street towards tree filled uninhabited area, adding to the sense of seclusion. I have never been in a tiny house, what can I expect? The "tiny house nation" style tiny houses are around 144 to 250 sqft, ours is 144 sqft. So,we are on the "smaller" side. Our guests have commented that its actually does not feel cramped. You will have heating, AC, hot shower, flushing toilet, kitchenette for basic cooking, small fridge, queen bed etc. You also have a private deck and a private outdoor fireplace to make S'mores and to grill. Are pets allowed? We just require that they should never be left alone and peace pick up after them. Our cleaning company charges a pet fee. If you forgot to pay it or decided to bring a pet last minute, please leave the amount as a tip to the cleaners. That way the cleaners get to keep the money and then they won't report the pet to the cleaning company. This also saves us the hassle of going back and forth with the cleaning company, reviewing the camera footage and ultimately paying it out of our own pockets. Also, please keep in mind that the house is really small at 144 sqft which may be too cramped for some large dogs. I work from home, how is the WiFi? We have had multiple guests who worked from home during the pandemic. Our provider is spectrum (the monopoly in the area). Luckily, outages are very rare and get fixed promptly (you may have to restart the router). Speed is always good for multiple simultaneous video calls and movie streaming. Do you provide firewood? Not yet! You do not need firewood to heat the house. If you want to use the outdoor fireplace, look for 'Campwood' signs and buy from our neighbors.(Also @ Walmart, Stewart gas stations etc.) What about Towels-Soap-Linens-Hot water? Is there heating/cooling? Can we cook? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes!. Think of all the amenities a hotel provides plus a tiny kitchen. Hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, drip coffee, plates, cutlery - we have all that we could cram into the tiny space. Our guests use the outdoor fireplace for BBQ and smores! Can I check in early? or Check out late? No and Yes. Due to the super strict covid19 cleaning process, we can no longer offer early check in. However, we can offer late checkout up to an hour. Please inform us in advance so that the cleaning crew can adjust accordingly.

4 nights at Trails Head Tiny House

We love Tiny House as it’s nestled in the woods and feels very private. The hosts are kind, give clear instructions, and they’re super responsive to any questions that may come up. We love to tent camp and this tiny house is a great option for the colder months. We were not able to use the woodstove during our stay, but there is also a diesel heater which warms the place quickly, and for a quieter option, a small portable propane heater (purchase cans of propane at the conveniently located trading post which also has literally anything else you may forget at home). As others have mentioned, the path down to Tiny House is steep… like for REAL. An ACTUAL 4-wheel drive can make it, but ONLY if the ground is dry. That said, be prepared to hike in/out your gear if need be. And if that’s not your cup of tea, we did discover that the hosts have a couple reasonably priced Airbnbs in the area - check out Cabin in Rock Hill “Trails Head Cabin” (on the same street as Tiny House) or nearby Home in Rock Hill “Beaver Lake Escape”. Our reason for visiting was to tackle the challenging hikes of the Neversink waterfalls. Trails Head Tiny House provided amazing access, as well as, respite from our hectic city life. We look forward to a future visit!

Beautiful quiet, private space and great hosts! My SUV has 4 wheel drive, but we decided to park in the lot for easier "in's and out's" during our visit as the walk was shorter than expected. The goats were adorable and the backup heating system was a great help, since we were visiting the area during a fire ban. Impressed by how close beautiful hiking was available to our stay.

Weekend Trip to Dandelion Hill Farm Cottage

This was exactly what we needed as an escape from the big city! The cabin was cozy and peaceful, you could hear peepers and see the stars, and the goats were adorable. Melissa was a great host and we had everything we needed. Super close to Great Barrington with adorable shops and good food. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed solo for 3 days and 2 nights in one of the tiny house..really chill spot. Host was nice. The land’s natural and rustic, not fancy but pretty. Kitchen, bathroom, and shower are outside and shared with others (different but fine). Cute animals and fresh eggs for sale. There’s a bike trail with a lake right across the road! perfect for a ride. Tried Threshold and Innes nearby, 30min ish ride..both were solid. Overall, a laid-back solo escape in nature.

4 nights at Trails Head Tiny House

We had such a great stay at this solar tiny house. The space is simple but comfortable. It was stocked with a lot of essentials so I didn't even need many things that we brought. My Honda Sport handled the drive to camp no problem, which I'm glad, because we had a lot of gear and I couldn't imagine hauling it all the way to the site. One of the highlights was the nearby hike to Mullet Falls—absolutely beautiful and worth the trip. The trail was easy to follow and made for a perfect way to spend part of the day. Being able to shower after was also really nice. For food, the Rock Hill Café nearby was a gem. Everything I tried there was fresh and delicious, and it was such a nice bonus to have great local food within reach. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to recharge, connect with nature, and enjoy some great local flavor, this place is a wonderful choice. Say hi to the goats for us!

What a nice set up here! Had more than enough space inside and was such a treat to end a day in the woods with a movie with the wifi! AT&T service had 1 bar and was usable, however, the wifi helped if need be! The walk down to the tiny house is rocky but very manageable! Goats & ducks were such a nice pit stop on your way up! Loved the area surrounding the tiny house for hiking! Waterfalls and nice terrain to see! Had pots and dishes and everything I needed! Thank you!

The tiny house was just as expected. The goat was very thorough on what was available for use at the house. We used the solar for two days running the main overhead light, the tv, laptop, and WiFi. The wood stove was great! The diesel heater was great for overnight. When the fire dies the diesel heater keeps that deep chill off. The tiny house feels very private and we felt secluded the entire weekend. Gas station is right up the road just in case you need anything including fire starter and snacks. Great times and great private property!

2 nights at Trails Head Tiny House

We adored our stay at the Tiny House! The property was clearly marked with where to park and how to access the site. The home was perfectly secluded away from the street and main house on the property. We felt totally private but also safe and comfortable with all the lights and facilities! The home was well stocked with things left by former stay-ers, such as coffee, utensils, propane, cooking supplies, and blankets, etc. There were plenty of ways to stay warm, too! The solar heater was amazing, and when it died we had the small stove and propane heater to our disposal, which were beyond adequate. The hammock, grill, fire pit (couldn't use for burn bans but still cute:), tables, chairs, all of it ... perfect! The guest book and the goats were absolutely adorable. Would definitely return :)
