The cabin is secluded, cozy, and charming. Despite it being the snowy season, all the paths were shoveled and the heat inside kept us warm. Minutes away from the eastern coast of the lake and a short drive from Glens Falls and Lake George Village, the location makes you feel like you are in the woods while easily being able to grab a dinner in town. I thoroughly recommend this rental.

This little cabin was a nice retreat away from home for a few days. Having bedding provided was a nice touch and the bed is very comfortable. The parking is not far from the cabin (maybe 50-100ft) and the driveway was even plowed very shortly after a few inches of snow fell during my stay. There’s a fair amount of yard space available, great for playing in the snow this time of year, and the steam right outside the cabin door is a pretty sight and sound every time you exit. This cabin is also perfect for anyone who doesn’t like dealing with a wood stove to keep warm, instead a gas radiator controlled by a digital thermostat keeps the cabin warm exactly how you like it, a very surprising but much appreciated bonus I found out after arriving. Overall, this cabin was fantastic, warm, and cozy, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for somewhat easy cabin camping in the winter.

Very cool spot. Do be advised that they have weddings and events until 10:00 pm, so there is a bit of noise and music, but nothing too disturbing. Very friendly welcome, free firewood. I got to pitch my tent on a well built platform, which helped reduce the September chill.

Nothing but a wonderful experience. The camp site was beautiful with so many thoughtful components and little touches; they even had drinking water. It’s better than a hotel for someone who likes camping. You really only need to bring your tent and food.
Site was Equipped with fire wood, wooden platform to set up your tent, and the picnic table area was also covered. The outhouse was very clean.
At the lakeside the fire pit area was perfect. Many seats to choose from. You can sit down by the lake or at the fire pit and see the beautiful mountain across the lake or just adore the lake itself.
We also used the canoe to paddle around the lake. I swam twice at the beach area. Water was clean and warm.
The owners were very kind and all the instructions were thought of.
I would give 11/10. Recommend wholeheartedly.

It was my first time camping alone. And I’m so glad I chose Matthew’s land to do it on. I love that my space was surrounded by trees and I was very close to the porta potty. The space I was at had a wooden deck to put my tent on which I loved. Firewood was sold at a great price for the amount of wood you got. Great space to hang your hammock and read a good book. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll definitely stay here!

The camping at Rustic Barn Campground was incredibly peaceful and the grounds were beautiful. Located in such a nice area, close to many attractions and places to explore on foot or bike, but also enjoyable if all you wanted was a weekend away from the hustle and bustle.

Excellent campsite! If you like to be in the middle of nowhere with no camping neighbors, this spot is for you. Its queit and peaceful. The water is really warm to swim in, and the paddleboards and canoe are lots of fun. There isn't a lick of garbage anywhere! Very clean place. The outhouse is also realy clean and nice. This spot is perfect for your off leash dog to trounse about freely. There are a lot of camping supplies here. We didn't need to bring any chairs or our canopy as there is a canopy covered picnic table on site, and plenty of seating all throughout the site. There are plenty of other things too, like pots and pans, playing cards, etc.

For those who are looking to introduce themselves or their family to camping off the grid, this is the perfect spot. This property gives enthusiasts the chance to enjoy camping privately, with beautiful scenery, and added activities for fun. But just in case, the owners still give you some “minor” amenities just incase you’re not ready for “real” camping. Also the owners are great wonderful people, who keep this area well maintained, and are very informative to help you enjoy your stay and / or care to explore the surroundings. This property should not be overlooked, I personally got a chance to test and show my rugged camping skills to my young children, but also had a peace of mind , the owners provided us with stuff just incase. This trip definitely made it to our family memories. Thank you!
