You will find everything from million dollar homes to people living in yurts or train cars. There is no running water or electricity. You are on your own. But also your on your own!!! There was a RV living there when I bought it so I know it’s possible to get in and out of there fairly easily. There is an abandoned house on the property. The land is a work in progress Looking for something to do! Rafting/swimming: The Pilar Junction Bridge is located 10 min. away. It is a major put in spot for rafting. But also a beautiful place to dip your toes or jump on in! Rio Gorge Bridge: 10min and you will be at the Rio George Bridge. One of the most gorgeous scenic overlooks. You can walk across the bridge to a 200ft drop below to the Rio! There a few local Mountain Goats that chill here regularly. Here you will also find public restrooms as well as dumpsters. There are no restrooms on site. An outhouse is being built but for now we dig holes or use the restrooms at the George Bridge. There are local vendors usually set up here in the parking lot. Taos Ski Valley: The Taos Ski Valley is about 45min. But worth the drive to get away into the mountains grab some food and beverages! Earthships: The Earthships are located 5min down the road. If you are interested in building off grid homes I recommend checking out the visitor center! Taos Mesa Brewery: There is a brewery 10/15min away that has outdoor shows and events. My husband and I stumbled across this beautiful and serene property by accident in 2020 just as Covid hit. We feel blessed to be here and feel the need to share it’s calming, restful qualities. We have three adult children and have three grandchildren. We also have eight international children as we hosted international students for four years. You are welcome to come sit by the fire and be social or just do your own thing. Learn more about this land: Sites located across the property for up to 8 groups. The RV camping is located near one of our horse corrals and above our irrigation Acequia, above or next to the house, or in the field down by the arena after haying is complete (usually after the first week of July as long as the rain cooperates). Can back in or pull through and has 110v power nearby. No water to hook up to, but we can fill your tanks via hose by the house or arena. Other sites available if you don’t need power, or have a generator.  Property is within a 100yds of national forest service that gives access to off-roading, hiking, biking, horse riding, fishing, and winter snowshoeing, cross country skiing, etc. We are located just off the High Road to Taos in Llano, 29 miles south of Taos and 55 miles north of Santa Fe. We are eight miles from Ski Sipapu and eight miles from Rio Santa Barbara Canyon.  Your well-behaved pets are welcome. We also have one great dane (Raggy), a great dane mix (The Morrigan), one ranch cat (Sasha) and four horses (Gentry, Shadow, Mattie & Jr G). The dogs are a rescue of some kind. The Morrigan is black, 3.5 yrs old and comes out of a rescue in AZ. She went in with her litter as a 5 month old puppy, and she came here about a year later. She is reticent and suspicious, so ignore her and she will come up to you on her own; continue to ignore her. Ragnar (Raggy) is our most recent rescue and is from Las Cruces. He's 3 yrs old and a merle. He suffers from anxiety and fears children. We are working him through his fears, and he is doing really well. The weather here tends to run cooler, as we are located in the mountains in a small valley at approximately 7,800 ft above sea level. In the spring through fall, temps will average from mid 40°F up to mid 60°F at night and mid 60°F up to mid 90°F during the day. Temps can get into the 100°F's in the summer, but that is rare. Generally if the sun is out, it is warm or hot even tho the actual temps are not. It's a high-altitude affect. The opposite is true as well. Cloud cover will feel cooler. We also experience monsoon style rains that occur in the afternoon generally starting in July and running into August or later. In the late fall through early spring during winter, the average temps usually run from 0°F up to mid 20°F at night with occasional dips into negative temps and in the day generally run from mid 20°F up to the mid 40°F range. Same as above - if the sun is out, it will feel warmer, etc. We do hay the fields, so we may have tractor activity going on in the late spring and early summer. In the winter we will be clearing snow from the roads and feeding hay. Can't wait to see everyone this year!

The desert can get cold at night. With enough notice, a portable propane heater can be provided with for an additional charge. Hipcampers are kindly asked to park just outside our gate and embark on a picturesque 3/4 mile hike back to the shelter. The flat hike offers scenic views and adds to the adventure of your stay. A perfect place if you want a central location to explore the different areas of Carson National Forest (CNF) like we did. Allows you an hour drive in any direction to any portion of CNF while providing a beautiful base camp that yields isolation and tranquility in the midst of humbling views in all directions. Alia is a Phenomenal host, very accommodating, super cool, responsive and down to earth. If you are a self sufficient person that has everything you need and just wants to share someone’s plot of paradise, this is the place for you. Freaking awesome.

The location and convenience of the spot can't be beat. We ran into a bit of an issue with muddy conditions trying to get into the parking spot but it sounds like thats very irregular. The view is beautiful and had it not poured rain, the fire pit would have been lovely! For sure on my list of places to revisit. Thanks for the hospitality Ben.

This was a GREAT location and easy to get around anywhere we wanted to go! Kelly and her husband were excellent hosts. Kelly shared places to go, she was extremely responsive and they had an adapter for the electric! I hope to visit here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Anastasia is a welcoming host who shares her farm in its beautiful location, conveniently close to Taos, NM, where there is so much to explore. We were invited to tour and learn about all the various efforts Anastasia and her community are experimenting with sustainable practices. The Mountain view from our site was gorgeous at sunset and sunrise. Also, guests are given access to a beautiful and well-maintained bath house. We would definitely visit again and appreciate the stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a great stay here! The hosts were kind and welcoming, and as a solo traveler, I felt completely safe the whole time. It was peaceful, easy to find, and exactly what I needed for my trip. The porta potty was great for emergencies, but just know it’s a basic setup. Also the sunrises are incredible from this spot! Overall, I’d definitely recommend!

we arrived late in the evening and was grateful that the host met us to help back in because site 1 is a little tricky. I had a 19ft Sprinter and it was fine. Actually we were able to park both Sprinters parallel on site 1. Try to make sure you get there before sunset, cuz the road is narrow and the hip camp is a little tricky to locate. It is off the main highway but close enough to hear traffic but quiets down in the evening. Grateful for the electric hookup and water spout and trash can. Felt very safe. Very good price for all that is offered.

I can see why Santa Fe Treehouse is number 1 for Hipcamp in NM: the land is spacious, well taken care of and Ciana, Brad and Jonathan were exceptional. I felt super safe staying solo. Trails right from the campsites, heated bathrooms, tasty water and breathtaking views. I will without a doubt be back to stay here the next time I visit Santa Fe.

Ciana was very welcoming. The spot is a perfect wilderness dream with epic mountain views & hiking trails. The shared kitchen makes it great to store, reheat & cook food. The shower has great pressure and gets hot!!! I just spent a night but what an amazing night sky it was.
