We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included. ** To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There are no cleaners coming in after you. ** The cabin is a 432 square foot A-frame in a small mountain community, which is surrounded by the Jemez National Forest. Looking to sleep under the stars in a peaceful quiet surrounding. Come camp on my site. It is located in the housing community of Tres Orejas. You will find everything from million dollar homes to people living in yurts or train cars. There is no running water or electricity. You are on your own. But also your on your own!!! No one will bother you so enjoy. RVs, pets, camper vans, tents you name it, all are all welcome! There was a RV living there when I bought it so I know it’s possible to get in and out of there fairly easily. There is an abandoned house on the property. The land is a work in progress Looking for something to do! Rafting/swimming: The Pilar Junction Bridge is located 10 min. away. It is a major put in spot for rafting. But also a beautiful place to dip your toes or jump on in! Rio Gorge Bridge: 10min and you will be at the Rio George Bridge. One of the most gorgeous scenic overlooks. You can walk across the bridge to a 200ft drop below to the Rio! There a few local Mountain Goats that chill here regularly. Here you will also find public restrooms as well as dumpsters. There are no restrooms on site. An outhouse is being built but for now we dig holes or use the restrooms at the George Bridge. There are local vendors usually set up here in the parking lot. Taos Ski Valley: The Taos Ski Valley is about 45min. But worth the drive to get away into the mountains grab some food and beverages! Earthships: The Earthships are located 5min down the road. If you are interested in building off grid homes I recommend checking out the visitor center! Taos Mesa Brewery: There is a brewery 10/15min away that has outdoor shows and events. Buddhist Temple: If you continue on the road within Tres Orjeas you will reach a Buddhist temple at the top of the hill. If you need more assistance please reach out! Thank you!

This A-frame was quite an interesting drive from Santa Fe. I don’t think we would’ve made it without our 4 wheel drive. The cabin was beautiful and Clean. We love the wood burning stove. Overall it was a great stay for a quick evening getaway from it all!

Traveling cross country for 3 weeks, I have stayed at a few places and this is one of my favorites! The location is beyond beautiful. Creekside with foot bridges, tipi had everything I needed and MORE! The cows and horses were fun to watch and the hammock next to my tipi beside the creek was so relaxing. I could actually see the Milky Way. Lastly the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Bringing me extra firewood for the awesome stone fire pit I forgot to mention that has beautiful wooden rocking chairs. It’s beyond amazing and unbelievably priced.

I love this land in the Tusas Valley - the sounds of elks bugling, coyotes calling, and the Rio Tusas running nearby... Deborah is such a personable and attentive host but never intrusive. The restaurant her family owns over in Tres Piedras is a treasure too. I have stayed in both the yurt and tipis, and they are clean and fitted out with everything you need. Me and my dog were happy to return

A great retreat into the mountains. We hiked from the cabin and also drove to and hiked in Valles Caldera. Magical location. Beds were very comfortable. Cabin amenities were good. Just take care driving on the unpaved road up to the cabin. Stay center when possible to avoid ditches on the right.

Such a beautiful place. The views are in incredible. We could see the Milky Way and shooting stars at night by the campfire. Listening to the creek and watching the cows and horses was so relaxing. The campsite was well provisioned and comfortable. When Deb said all you need to bring is yourselves and your food she wasn’t kidding. Wonderful, friendly hosts! The nights were cool but we were warm enough with the campstove and covers provided. After a drive one day we ordered carry out from the Chili Line Depot which was so good we stopped in again for breakfast the day we left. Chili Line had helpful friendly staff, too. We hope to visit this amazing ‘Glamp’ site again in the spring.

Weekend Trip to Jemez Mountains A-Frame Cabin

Jen’s cabin was perfect for a quick escape from the dust! The smell of the pine trees as we opened the car door on arrival was fabulous, and the cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing overnight retreat. We brought blankets with us and made a bed under the stars for the AMAZING night sky; even saw a shooting star, the sky was so clear. Enjoyed reading Jen’s memoirs of the time and work she and Zac have put into the place. We would definitely come back.
