SaddleHawk Ranch

22 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Deming, NM
Located in the high desert (4300 ft) of the Southwest, we are a gated guest ranch, and we have multiple areas for you to RV boondock or tent camp. We also have a few 30/50 amp plug in spots. This is a private gated ranch, and is NOT A FANCY RANCH. It is a working ranch and there is also a 501(c)3 non profit charity organization that keeps 9 horses at the ranch. The ranch is home to 35 +- Equines (Horses, Mules, Donkeys) performance and competition horses and has a horse & carriage driving school. We do not rent riding horses or have riding horses/lessons. Only driving horses. You may schedule a carriage ride for an extra fee. The non profit charity organization is called Equine Safe Haven, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization teaches horsemanship and carriage driving, using horses that were on the list to transport to Mexico for slaughter. Come pet and love on them, as they have a second chance in life and the program makes a difference to those that are economically or physically disadvantaged. We have water hydrant fill stations, and a BBQ area for you to use. Please ask when you arrive. We can accommodate any size RV up to and including tractor trailers. We have two 50 amp sites and one 30 amp site if you need electric. Check in info: CHECK IN TIME: BETWEEN 3pm and 8pm -if you are tent camping please get here before sunset - it gets VERY dark here (great for stargazing) , and hard to see in the back acreage. If you come in after dark, we will park you up front. Gate locks by 8pm and unlocked at 7:30am. NOTE: THE GATE IS LOCKED BETWEEN 8pm and 7:30am. Checkout is by 11am. If you intend to arrive later than sunset or leave earlier than 7:30am, we will park you up front, and will need to know this before you arrive. It is quiet here, and we like to allow travelers time to rest. We also work full time, M-F, in addition to working the Ranch, so we need to set limits so we can rest as well.

Horner Hipcamp

15 sites · RVs, Tents20 acres · Radium Springs, NM
New to Hipcamp, but want to share my beautiful property with others. Located on the bank of the Rio Grande River with access to the river at all times. Property is rustic now, but improvements will continue to be made as time goes on. Come help me develop this beautiful location into the best Hipcamp in New Mexico. Just 14 miles of the Chile Capital of the World, Hatch, NM, come during chile harvest to take home fresh green chile right out of the field. 21 miles from Las Cruces, where you will find plenty of events and entertainment, should you so desire. Spaceport, America, T or C, White Sands are all within a day's drive, and Fort Selden is just a few miles down the road, as is Blue Moon Bar and Grill. My dad first came to this property as a farm hand for the elderly couple who owned it. This was in the 1930's. He met my mother, who lived 6 miles down the road, in 1939. She was just 14. Every Sunday he would ride those 6 miles to have supper with her and her family and in 1940, 2 weeks after her 16th birthday, they married. They traveled around before coming back here, buying a small portion of this farm from the elderly owners and farming the rest for them, but in 1953, the man died (his name was Ernest Ward) in the small concrete house I now use for storage, that my dad had built for he and his wife when he first came to work for them. My parents built a home for his widow in Hatch (14 miles) and bought the farm from her. My family has owned it since. I was gone for 31 years, but returned to the land and place I love and plan to stay here till I die!

Cobaw Station Camping Retreat

4 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · Deming, NM
Deming: Looking for the best hiking in Deming? We've got you covered with the top trails, trips, hiking, backpacking, camping and more around Deming. The city is within the Gadsden Purchase of 1853, which was acquired from Mexico specifically to provide a southern route for a railroad to connect the United States with California. Deming was founded in 1881 and incorporated in 1902, and is named after Mary Ann Deming Crocker, wife of Charles Crocker, one of the Big Four of the California railroad industry. Deming is located within the Upper Chihuahuan Desert climate zone. The climate is dry, hot, and breezy. Summer temperatures often exceed 100 °F (38 °C), but the altitude (4,300 feet (1,300 m)) and dry air sometimes make summer days more comfortable than one would expect given the high temperature. Deming is a city in Luna County, New Mexico, United States, 60 miles (97 km) west of Las Cruces and 35 miles (56 km) north of the Mexican border.
