Located in Nogal Canyon this electric only 50 amp RV spot puts you 3 miles to Lincoln National Forest and a 30 minute drive to Ruidoso. Cell phone service is hit or miss but wifi is available up towards the house on the property. Suitable for RV's up to 35 feet with a 50 amp hook up. Spot is located at the base of a 9 acre property. Our home is located up top; from the RV spot you cannot see the home.

Full Hookup sites #1-6 are $30 per night. **Site #7 is $20 per night electric (30amp) and water only.** Easy overnight stopover on US Hwy 285. Across the street from the village park. Also have spaces available for long term parking - local construction workers find Encino a perfect location to job sites nearby, close to Vaughn, Duran, Corona, and Willard. Easy access with only an hour drive from Albuquerque and Santa Fe. LONG-TERM STAYS - longer than 2 weeks - should contact host through the "Contact Host" button below for long term rates. Sites #1-6 include FULL HOOKUPS - water, sewer, electric. ELECTRIC HOOKUP IS 50A ONLY, so be sure that you have an ADAPTOR with your rig requires 30A or 15A. Site #7 is WATER AND ELECTIC (30amp) only. For some reason, Google Maps is showing an old view, with a building present in the photo which is not present. Our sites are located on the north side of Pinon Street between 2nd and 3rd street, across the road from the village park. The RV sites are on the west end of the property with a yellow house and green metal roof.

3. Small Town Memories

This is a small private plot of land just outside of town that used to be a homesite. There are NO AMENITIES currently, but possibly in the future. RV site is for DRY CAMPING ONLY. Pets are allowed but must be contained due to the nearby road. The property still has a few areas that need a bit of cleanup, but the advantage is that it’s a private site conveniently located just outside of town. The Town of Mountainair is known for its vibrant arts scene, local studios, and galleries. It offers a true small-town feel with great restaurants, including the famous—and haunted—Shaffer Hotel. There are even rumors of sightings of the ghost of Billy the Kid! While not entirely remote, this is a peaceful spot where you can sit outside and marvel at the galaxy of stars visible on a clear night. You’ll be neighbors with the Forest Service and only a few miles from Cibola National Forest, the Manzano Mountains, and several Park Service sites such as the Abo and Quarai ruins. Nearby, you’ll also find a farmer’s market, a grocery store, and a few dollar stores for essentials. This is a great location for birdwatching, spotting small wildlife, and occasionally seeing deer. My favorite memory growing up here was listening to the great horned owls—you’ll likely find owl pellets and other interesting natural treasures on the lot. While the 4-acre property isn’t large enough for real hiking, it’s perfect for peaceful walks and exploring nature. Please note: there is still some debris left from the old homesite, such as tires, but cleanup can be arranged based on rental interest. Campfires are welcome, as long as they comply with current Forest Service fire bans. You must bring your own water for fire extinguishing.

We had a great time at this site! Very big and private! Great if you have a dog that likes to run around. It was also great having electric hook ups.

2 nights at Nogal Canyon RV Spot

This is a great base camp for day hikes in the White Mnt wilderness and exploring the shops and restaurants in Ruidoso. Located in Nogal canyon it us a quiet rural setting where you can barely hear the traffic on highway 37. Dogs can be off leash. The rental house above the hipcamp site was not being used. There is a residence across the county road but it was not very close. The property was well cared for with lots of underbrush removed. Chevaun was very responsive and allowed us to show up early. We stayed 2 nights in a 22 ft airstream. We used a dogbone to convert the 50 amp service to 30 amps. An improvement would be an off switch so you wouldn't have to plug into a live circuit.

1 night at Nogal Canyon RV Spot

As a car camper, this spot was just what I needed. The ground was level and easy to back into. Setup a chair, cooked some dinner, and watched the sun set behind the ridge. A few cars passed here and there and i could hear the soft neighs of horses across the road.
