You are welcome to wander our property beyond the Big Stick Ditch but do not go into the pasture with our burro or enter any of the out buildings. Park within steps of the Art Shack, cross the foot bridge over the bubbling irrigation ditch, and you have arrived! Please remove your shoes before entering! There is electricity, a queen bed, rustic chairs inside, an outdoor table and chairs, a composting toilet, a coffee machine, and purified drinking water for your use. An electric heater is supplied during winter months. There is no air conditioning. We are available if needed (unless we are out of town adventuring) but will not expect to interact with you as you relax. Terrific! The spot is 10 minutes from Durango and far enough from the owners home that it felt private. And there are endless acres of forest for the dogs to explore. We had no problem accessing the site in our rwd Ford Transit. Verizon signal was adequate. Tree coverage made starlink useless.

We loved staying on Melinda's land! It was pouring rain from a freak storm and she generously allowed us to use her mudroom and her addition downstairs. Genuinely, she saved our trip. I stayed in the basic cabin (ie, the fancy shed). It was perfect, one queen bed, two twin bunks, ac, heat, ceiling fan and a light. The sites are a little close together but I was not spending the summer so not a big deal, I was there to sleep after spending the day at mesa verde. The grounds and restroom/shower was very neat and clean. I would definitely stay again. There is definitely road noise but as you can see from the posting, they are next to a major road. It was not a big deal in the cabin as I had windows closed as the temps were pretty cool.

Beautiful spot in the hills above Durango! Directions were clear, site was level, firepit and utilities all as advertised. We drove a 2 WD Ram Class B and had no issues accessing. Will stay here again when we are in Durango next. :)

This was our first Hipcamp experience and we were pleased. Easy to get to and well maintained. It was perfect for our sprinter van. A bonus was electrical hookup. the solitude was needed.

I loved my night at Gretchen's property. I was only there for a short time but Gretchen and her pups were very welcoming and the shack was the perfect place to rest for a night before a long drive. Had everything needed for a short stay :)

5 nights at Ponderosa Paradise

This spot has a lot of potential. It truly is in a grove of aspens right up the hill from the host’s home. I was a week too early for the color change! I normally dry camp so I felt spoiled when the host ran both power and water to my camper. The spot was quiet and convenient to Durango, the Million Dollar Highway, and Vallecito Reservoir. I spent most of my time exploring those areas. I was in a trailer and had to back up a steep hill to get to the spot. It was not difficult, and if I had failed, the host was there to help. If I’m back in the area I will definitely stay there again!

Simple campsite for a quick stay. The campsite is a gravel drive in the front yard of a home in a rural neighborhood. Active wildlife in the area. We had a deer run by the tent and heard elk calls at night. It's more of an RV spot with an electric hook-up, but does suffice for a quick, overnight stay. Be sure to use the bathroom before you show!

We had a great quick night at Joe’s place. There were so many amenities like a fully stocked camp kitchen, outhouse, shower set up, and plenty of chairs and tables. We didn’t have to unload much of our own stuff and could just use what was provided. We slept peacefully with the sound of the creek. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore more of the property and creek! Our dog was a bit anxious at first but Joe came by with a treat to say hello and she immediately was happy and relaxed. She loved playing in the creek.

Weekend Trip to Durango RV Resort

We were traveling in a truck camper and booked a tent site, thinking we could just park the truck in the parking space that comes with the tent site. They said we needed an RV site and graciously switched us right away. The campground setup is really nice with lots of trees. It has some nice amenities including a heated swimming pool! The staff is so friendly and we lucked out because they were offering a free full breakfast while we were there. All in all, it is a very nice campground and we would definitely go back.

2 nights at Ramble at Mesa Verde National Park

This camp was INCREDIBLE!! Clean… soooo many wonderful amenities! After two weeks of camping, hiking, etc… the lovely flush bathrooms and the free hot, wonderful showers were awesome! The best part??… THE HOSTS! Betty & Albert could not be more helpful, friendly, and accommodating! They keep that camp spotless! I can’t say enough good things about RAMBLE!! It’s also just a short drive from Mesa Verde… very pet friendly… and quiet!
