Our horse farm is located in one of the most rural areas of Southern New Jersey. This land was once occupied by The Lanape Tribe. The adjacent creek was named after Chief Alloway. Artifacts of Native Americans have been found alongside this brackish water creek. This farm was for many years a dairy farm which was passed on for 3 generations until the late 80's. Our main horse breeds are 5 Arabians followed by 2 Thoroughbreds and 2 miniature ponies. In addition to horses you will see free range rabbits, chickens and beautiful cows. There are many antique shops in this area which tell the rich History of Southern NJ. Cowen mall and Royal Port are my two favorites. Another must see experience (at least once) in the area is The Cowtown Rodeo, one of the first and oldest in the country, only 14 minutes drive. Right off the highway (about 3 minutes!) but far enough to feel secluded and peaceful. You will hear some highway noise but that didn’t bother me. Felt very safe. Great sunset view over a meadow. Sweet horses will come right up to your site for a curious hello.

I really enjoy the peace and quiet of Carol’s property. Though there are other sites, they are far enough away for each to feel private. This trip, I was the only person on the property and it was just perfect. The pond is lovely, the chorus of frogs at night is loud and awesome, and the wood is plentiful for building awesome campfires all night long.

This site and host exceeded our expectations. We booked the riding ring sites, but ended up setting up at Wildberry Rest. The site was just large enough to fit a 20ft camper, an SUV with tent attached and more, along with the bell tent at the site. It has a lovely view and includes a fire pit, propane grill, and outdoor furniture. Access to water, electricity, and ice is available a short walk down to the barn. Our host Greg, was incredible as he bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He offered great recommendations for activities and dining options. We appreciated his flexibility for our check-in and out days. One thing that makes this spot stand out from others is the access to all the friendly farm animals. You can get your animal fix in with the cute goats, sheep, chickens, horses, and pigs. Our dogs loved off-leash play time with their new barnyard friends. The area has so much to see and do, whether it be outdoor activities or shopping/dining experiences, you won't be bored! Everything is within about a 30 min drive (Super Walmart and a grocery store are a ten minute drive). We are making this place a yearly tradition because we had such a wonderful time.

We had such a lovely stay at the farm! Even though we visited during the off-season while seeing family nearby, we had a wonderful time. Greg was an incredibly accommodating host, frequently checking in to ensure we had everything we needed for a successful trip. The greenhouse was a total highlight—it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy breakfast with fresh farm eggs and delicious well water. We highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area, and we’ll definitely be back when the weather warms up!

We had an amazing time at the horse farm. I took my son camping for the first time ever and this was more than the best situation in setup for a child. We were able to freely roam the farm and play with the horses at our will. We camped at campsite, one which was at the end of the property and gives you an entire view of the farm. Bren the host was amazing when we woke up to our surprise. They were hosting a mini petting zoo and Christmas pictures. By far, one of my best nights out with hipcamp.

Weekend Trip to Adventures Await Retreat & Meadery

This camp is a very quiet rural location (45 minutes to Lewes and Cape May Ferry) and has a great list of amenities. The camp hosts are welcoming and very helpful. Shout-out to Dave for assisting us on arrival. The animals are cool and mostly friendly. The pool looked nice as did the meadery- didn't have time to try these. The nature walk was really nice and easy to follow. Now to the sites themselves - if you're looking at a full hook-up site, you will need to bring plenty of waste line and water line as the utility layout is challenging. Our recommendation is to call ahead and ask about site layout. Upon departure we ended up dumping our full grey and black tanks at Killen Pond State Park about 9 miles away. For those with 30-Amp rigs, do have a 50-amp converter in your electric box for flexibility in site selection. Overall, a nice long weekend stay with friendly hosts.
