Weekend Trip to Paradise Valley Homestead

This was a great place to stay. Very relaxing and a short walk to the waterfall. The place was cozy and comfortable definitely would recommend!

Weekend Trip to FernRock Retreat

John and Sandy are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The grounds were amazing and we enjoyed the trails, water, games, but especially the maze. We chased butterflies, caught frogs, saw fairies, and ventured into the 100 acre wood. It was a great chance to relax and escape from the stress of daily life.

We spent the night at Jennifer's site, and it was awesome! The thought she has put into the camper's experience is apparent, as she has gone above and beyond at setting up a space where people can disconnect, relax, and enjoy each other's presence.

Weekend Trip to Dude, Girl! Ranch.

Jennifer’s place was exquisite. Perfect and charming couples retreat. Close to Jim Thorpe and many adventures. Highly recommend. She is a kind and gracious host!

We had a lovely stay at the cabin. Dave received us with a beautiful fire and a tour of the grounds. The cabin was clean and very comfortabel. He gave us many tips on things to do in the region.

They spent alot of time playing and exploring the nearby stream, collecting rocks, and observing the local wildlife. The surrounding nature trails offered scenic walks that the whole family enjoyed, providing both adventure and tranquility. Evenings were spent gathered around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. The peaceful ambiance and the soothing sounds of the stream created a serene environment that allowed us to unwind and connect as a family. In summary, our stay at this Pocono cabin was a memorable experience filled with relaxation, outdoor fun, and heartfelt hospitality. We highly recommend it to families seeking a cozy and nature-filled retreat.

The cabin was lovely, perfect getaway to unplug and focus creative energies. The labyrinth is beautiful and entrancing. Apparently beavers dammed up their stream (we didn't see them, though we did hear one splash in flamboyantly) and it made for lovely kayaking. Sandy and John were gracious and helpful hosts. We hope to come back for another brief creative escape.

Plenty of beautiful space on the property! The ponds are a particularly a wonderful and beautiful feature (good for fishing!). The campfire area is shared between the three cabins. Very close to good hiking, Delaware Watergap Area and 20 minutes from downtown Newton.

We had such a wonderful time staying at Paradise Valley Homestead. My son (4) and husband stayed in the vardo and I set up a tent nearby. It was the perfect combo of camping and glamping. The fire pit was lovely and we made some delicious smores and memories! Would definitely return!

My friend and I decided to do a very last minute weekend visit to the cabin with no name and Kat was super responsive and helpful. We loved the openness of the space and how it still felt warm and cozy. All the windows let us still feel connected to the surrounding trees while staying warm in the evening. The little decorative objects, books, and items felt like a portrait of the cabin. We both hope to come back again for a longer visit in the future.

We had an incredible time at the cabin. It’s somehow simultaneously spacious and cozy, and Kat was super responsive. We really enjoyed grilling on the fire pit and walked the trail (a little challenging in the rain but gorgeous). There were lots of books, records, and games to play and the fresh eggs we added on from Kat were delicious. We’d absolutely come back!

My bf and I had a great time staying at Sandy and John’s cabin! They were very welcoming along with their dog. Got to see beavers swimming in their stream from the cabin window. Feed the goats and chickens. Would definitely stay again!

Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

We are near the historic town of Jim Thorpe, Whitewater Rafting Adventures, Hickory Run State Park, Lehigh Gorge State Park, Tuscarora State Park, and more. ***PLEASE READ BELOW AND READ EACH SITE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING*** - Our tent sites are rustic with NO electric or running water. Cabins have electric, but no indoor plumbing. Porta-Johns are available throughout the grounds. (Some sites are closer to port-a-johns than others.) We do not provide potable water or showers for tent campers but we allow responsible use of the stream for cleaning. Cabins have a rustic outdoor shower available May-October. Most sites are 100+ yards apart, but you may hear some noise carrying from neighboring sites. Please inquire for camper vans and pop ups. - FIREWOOD: Due to the threat of invasive pests, we do not allow firewood to be transported onto the grounds. We have firewood for sale for $7 per crate. You can pick and crate your wood at the wood pile on the grounds at your convenience.
