The Saco Experience

Our property is located in the heart of Conway and all the Mount Washington Valley has to offer. We are about a mile walk from the Saco river and the same for Conway Lake. We have a Canoe Company on site that is run all summer, and highly recommend our campers utilize the rentals. We have small pop up events like live music, farmers markets, and craft fairs in the back yard, so if that is something of interest inquire with us for what days we will be hosting. We also have a Yoga teacher on site willing to teach private yoga classes to all who desire them.Learn more about this land:A Big field with a fire ring in the middle. Our property encompasses 3 different campsites:

1.) Camp with Stone Fireplace - a private gravel clearing with functional stone fireplace on an 11 acre parcel.  

2.) A Frame to Rest In - a newer addition which is a tiny A-Frame structure close to, but separate, from the Fireplace site and shares a driveway.

3.) Easy Come Easy Go - right off 302 and has a circular gravel driveway easy for RV pull-in with a picnic table and fire ring.

Located in Bethlehem at the top of the White Mountains close to endless hiking and biking. Both downtown Bethlehem and Littleton are within a 15 minute drive, supplying many choices for food and shopping. 

Rainy and need more options? Take the beautiful 1 hour drive east on 302 to North Conway and visit the big outlet stores.  If the weather is better, and you want a more scenic way there with hiking -- take the 25 minute drive down to Lincoln and travel the amazing Kancamangus Scenic Byway (Route 112). This is 35 miles through the White Mountains with no gas stations, so you might want to top off while in Lincoln. 

Thirty minutes east is the Mount Washington Cog Railway, and you will pass the historic Mount Washington Hotel on the way.  Fifteen minutes south and you can be at Franconia Notch State Park.

We are at the red dot. Shortly after driving through beautiful Franconia Notch, you will be at your campsite!

Our road is named after Angie’s grandmother, Marjorie, who was struck by the polio epidemic in the late 1940s when her son was a baby. She spent the rest of her life in a wheelchair. Widowed, she then raised Angie’s dad as a single mother right down the road. When this land was made available, we knew it was the perfect spot for our family, and as the first residents on the road, named it in honor of Grammie. It used to be a logging property and Angie’s father used to tromp around in this neck of the woods as a boy. When we built the house, we decided to turn the original logging road into our driveway. Plein Air is a continuation of that road. All of our neighbors have 12-45 acres in current use and you are free to explore the area behind our homes.Learn more about this land:We know that nothing beats waking up surrounded by nature. We also know that camping in the woods takes a lot of effort and that there’s nothing more deflating than returning from an amazing camping trip with a car load of laundry and supplies to take care of! We also know that some people want the quiet and privacy of the woods but can’t find it at busy campgrounds and that some people don’t enjoy sleeping on the rocky ground.We’ve carefully thought through all of the pros and cons of camping to cater your experience at Plein Air! When you rent your tent space through us, here is what you’ll experience:* A private spot in a magical pine forest.* A hearty, water and fireproofed, roomy 12 x 14 canvas tent covered by a tin roof. So even on rainy days, you will be kept warm and dry, listening to the sound of the rain on the roof. The windows and front and back doors unzip to screened windows and doors to help you fight off any potential mosquitoes while also allowing warm summer breeze to flow through.* A deck covered by tin roofing with comfortable Adirondack chairs.* A queen-size bed with a comfortable Tufts and Needle mattress, Egyptian cotton sheets, cushy pillows, and piles of soft, warm blankets. A rug is underneath to keep those bare feet warm!* A wood stove to light on cool mornings, a fire pit to light on beautiful evenings, and plenty of dry firewood for both.* Rechargeable battery-operated lanterns and a solar-powered battery to charge your own devices (there is no WiFi and limited cell service...Verizon tends to get the best service).* A propane camp stove to cook your meals on, with plenty of pots and pans, tinfoil, wooden spoons, plates, bowls, salt and pepper, oil, basic spices… everything you need!* Coffee from our local coffee shop and a camp stove French press with cream and sugar, peppermint chamomile tea grown on our farm, and generous-sized handcrafted pottery mugs made by Angie.* Fresh eggs from our farm and fresh bread, muffins, or pastries from our local baker will be waiting for you!* A cooler to keep your food in.* Gallons of water from our local mountain spring to drink, wash your dishes with, and use to put the campfire out. Biodegradable dish paste is provided.* Locally made, eco friendly cleaning supplies from Plymouth Soapworks.* A hammock to nap or read in.* An enclosed compost toilet with toilet paper and directions.* A seasonal, hot, outdoor shower (for cooler months, we recommend heating up water on the stove for a sponge bath).* Soft, big towels for the bath and beach towels for the beach* Unlimited access to paddleboards, kayaks, bikes, snowshoes, and river tubes (sizing may be off...we can answer any questions for those!)* Lots of woods behind the tent to explore.* Goats for composting your plant-based scraps!* Loads of books and games.* A binder of recommended hikes, adventures, and restaurants.* Add ons like local maple syrup, plant-based pre-made meals, wedding packages, or yoga packages are available!What should you bring?* Bug spray* Food* Layers of clothes--New Hampshire weather can wildly fluctuate!* Something warm for your feet* A personal battery for charging any devices* A sense of adventure!Anything else we should know?* Yes. Remember, that this is a full-woods immersion. So that means there is wildlife and bugs! Staying in the cabin comes with a bit of responsibility. All food must be cleaned up and stored properly to avoid attracting any wild critters, including bears. The garbage must be contained and covered and no food should be left out at any point. When you leave for the day or go to bed, please put anything in the sealed cooler or in your car, including toothpaste. Sweep up and dispose of any crumb. Feed your plant-based compost to the goats. If you are unsure of anything, give us a shout and we will help you! Remember this is luxury tenting, not luxury hoteling!* We have a working farm, so while you have as much privacy as you need, you may hear sounds coming from the property, like dogs, goats, chickens, and tractors. We are pretty quiet in the evenings though because we go to bed and rise early, so ask that you respect that as well.* Sometimes, if it rains and especially in the spring, there are some wet areas. Rain boots are always helpful!* Mosquitoes are a real thing here in New Hampshire and are inescapable if you intend to be outside at all. Some years are better than others. Bring bug spray!* We’ve taken tons of care to build this property and hope you will leave in the same condition you found it.

Moose Mountain Getaway

Moose Mountain Getaway is located near multiple White Mountain local hiking trails, river access, golf, and ski resorts. 

Camp in a tent, small camper van, or small pop-up camper. 

Just a short 5-minute drive down the road will give you access to the Pemigewasset River. Bring a kayak or tube and float down the river on a warm sunny day. 

Waterville Valley Ski Resort is located 20 minutes down the road. Other ski options close by are Loon Mountain Resort, Bretton Woods, Cannon Mountain Ski Resort, Attitash Mountain Resort, and many more.

Owl's Nest Resort is located just on the other side of the highway. Spend the day on the golf course or playing tennis/pickleball on their platform tennis courts. 

There is a lot to do in this small town.

Highland Basecamp

At Highland Basecamp you will find a driveway for RV parking and a backyard for tent set up. Running water and electric can also be provided.  A nice and quiet setting only a five minute bike ride to Highland bike park and a 20 min drive to several other awesome trails systems in the area. About a ten minute drive to shopping and restaurants in town. There's also a fire pit available for use. Outdoor shower with hot water available. 

Toilet will be available June 1st.
